I get what you're saying. Have you listened to "Stuck in the Middle" ? They can pull off just about any genre. Also, check out "Like That". These are good examples of their versatility. You both rock!
It's the YG big finish except here, they give it an anti-drop. Check out "Batter Up" and you'll see what I mean. They changed it up in "Sheesh" because people were saying they didn't care for the outro in "Batter Up".
Sheesh is just cringe, it’s not even about the YG sound being bad. The whole “sheesh” trend is so outdated. Maybe this song would’ve hit different like 8 years ago

sadly they couldn't win any music shows and this week is their last promotion for sheesh until whenever their next comeback is. Korea must really love Ilit cause they winning everything.

I wish we could have seen you reaction to the "It's Live" performance of this song instead of the "Dance Performance" video because it is a better representation of how it would sound at a concert. The song with a live band feels a little different especially at the end of the song. The tempo change is jarring I will admit going from a 4/4 to a 6/8 more like BLACKPINKs SHUT DOWN song. But you are not the only people that thought the ending wasn't necessary or that it should have been more like the YG formula and the track ramps up instead. So I really hope that you guys don't get hate or the "you guys don't understand" comments because music is subjective and if it is something that you don't care for then it is your opinion and we should respect it.
I also wish that you would show your reaction to LIKE THAT on your TH-cam channel. That is the one that was given to them from Charlie Puth after Ahyeon's cover of DANGEROUSLY. That song is the direction that I think most of the people that watched their pre-debut stuff and have been following them from that time wish that is the kind of music that BABYMONSTER would be making. It is an old school R&B Hip Hop and some people think that it should have been their title track.
I will say this, the mini-album is actually one of the most diverse in music that YG has made for their girl groups. The one thing with this group is that they can adapt to different genres of music as proven by the girls in their pre-debut stuff.
Sure, its true that people can have their own opinions on music. But it is also true that their opinions show that they don't understand the first thing about Babymonster or YG. Both can definitely be true.

Im sure they will find their own sound as they go. Especially since they are so young. They also seem to be contributing to songwriting, which is nice.
What i will say, they love blackpink. They have stated blackpink as their inspiration and a big reason they auditioned for YG. I dont think this sound is forced on them by the label. It is comparable to western artists who are inspired by bigger artists. I do like the little bits of "dark horror" vibes that were added.

Guess what: the girls in this group are proud of the YG DNA. They signed on for that. At the same time they are just at the start of their career and look forward to improving even more and developing their own color, as the members put it. Meanwhile, they're totally having fun with Sheesh. And if you listen to all of the album, how can you say they are stuck in one thing and don'talready have a unique and strong identity? Seems like just repeating noise coming from others on social media, not reality.
What other group could do what they do with Sheesh? Think about all the elements. Much as we might love them, no other YG groups could do this. And I doubt that any others outside of YG have the talent and charisma to do it either.
This. All these people parroting each other and saying the girls deserve more than just having the YG sound truly do not get it. These girls are the cream of the crop. Best of the best. Period. Sure, they worked their asses off and grew like crazy but they all had the talent and drive to make it as idols in any company they wanted. They chose YG because they wanted to be like 2NE1, like Blackpink. They wanted to be a YG group full stop. Saying they need to be something different is just stupid and insults the intelligence of those girls like they don't know what they want. And as anyone who actually knows anything about YG groups knows, the diversity is found in the b-sides anyways-- not the title tracks(which all have heavy YG similarities), which is also true for BM. Name anyone else in YG who has a song like "Like That".
