Very well said I’ve often wondered why one would learn accurately given the huge differences between the two. Wise man you are

They don't give the correct tactile feedback either, I found they just don't feel good to tattoo either.
I've been told to "go back to the fake skins" when I was working on my line work and trying to actually learn how to get 1 pass lines.
Now that I've sorted my actual technology issues I only use them to test a design and see if I can actually pull off something I have not tried.
    Thank you for this video

They definitely have a use for sure! But you are right they don’t have the right feed back which makes it hard to actually learn on them.
      Thanks !

I appreciate your take on practicing on fake skin. I was agonizing over it.

POF is a rip off, they changed the silicone they used to use to a cheaper lower quality. Also the arms are the incorrect size, much smaller than they advertise but for the same price.

I disagree.. it’s very helpful to practice on.. even if you’re learning.. I get what you’re saying with bad habits n all. But once a person goes to human skin it’s not hard to see the difference and just lighten your technique. You can still learn different techniques. They will just be applied lighter on the real skin

I think once you are on real skin for a while, sure it would be easy to translate technique back and forth but if it’s the first thing being tattooed ..someone would definitely have issues moving to real skin.
It definitely has its place tho.

Hahaha "wierd paper shaped skins" .. like the shape of paintings u mean? Haha im kidding. Fake skins are good for learning. And as u say, sometimes u want to just have some fun, dont botter with people.

Yes but they don’t have a frame. I picture hanging the paper shapes skins on the wall with nails like some weird serial killer would. Lol
