Your point on not being happy all the time really resonated with me because I've come to realize recently that it's unrealistic and almost obsessive to try to live without any bad days because you need those bad days and moments in your life to truly cherish the good times, keep up the good work man and definitely keep on posting these random thoughts, or whatever you like to call them, type of videos

I really appreciate your stance on how to utilize youtube. a lot of popular youtubers are using their platform to create cookie-cutter content and never stray from their typical routine because they fear that it might upset their subscribers and as a result, will impact their channel. but it doesn't have to be that way! you are delivering fresh content of all different forms, and I really enjoy listening to your opinions beyond food reviews.

i have a algebra II worksheet that I'm trying desperately to finish before my first day back to school tomorrow, and I'm having so much trouble with it since it's stuff I learned 2 years ago. Then I put this video on and listened to it. I looked back at my worksheet and suddenly everything became clear and I know I can finish within a few hours and get the answers right. Basically this video relaxed my nerves and allowed me to think clearly. Thanks ReportOfTheWeek

It's also important to recognize that you rarely have all of the information about an event, and this is especially true about things on the news or on social media, and you need to work that knowledge into your thought process. The scope of your open mindedness shouldn't be exclusive to the information you have. You can form an opinion based on what you know, but it's important to keep your mind open to future information after that opinion is formed. This changes if you are in a position of authority where you need to make a decision based on the information you have, but in general I think it's good advice.

In truth I appreciate these videos as well as your reviews or reactions, as you provide variety that's lost on a number of other TH-camrs (particularly when it comes to food). There was a cringe food reviewers video I came across and you were in it. It was a big mistake as so many people, myself included, proclaimed you shouldn't be in this cringe video. The uploader even made a note about how, upon reflecting, you shouldn't have been in it at all.

Dear ReviewBrah. Once I had my realisation on Perspectives and the fact that we have control over them, it took me about 3 weeks to end up in a manic state in a psych ward. Tread carefully.
These are powerful realizations. Not only because they empower you to find happiness in even the darkest corners.
But also because it makes you realize how much of human suffering is self-inflicted through their (un)conscious choice of wrong perspectives.
Not only that, it could cause you to think that your needs for possessions both material and immaterial are superficial. Superficial in the sense that ultimatily they are irrelevent in the quest of a happy and content life.
These kind of revalations can have a profound impact on your life. While your own perspectives on your life are safeguarded by the fact that you are capable of choosing them. For others who lack this capability, or consciously choose to have a different perspective, things might start to look weird and worrisome.
May wisdom guide you in choosing the right perspectives.

My family is like this, especially my mom- a bit closed-minded. It's a hard thing to be around since I have for the longest time believed in open-mindedness and looking at the big picture. I really learned even more when I took an Isreali-Palestinian history class, sourcing different information is so important.

Thank you! A philosophy I have always lived by. An open parachute like an open mind is best for the world. An open mind, well kept, without gaping holes can lend flexibility and tolerance that makes life so much more fun and engaging.

Serious comment: Your insight and desire for objectivity is refreshing and astute. We are all biased, we all get our news from sources we agree with and avoid the ones we disagree with; I'm guilty of it. The thing is, to be truly "open-minded", one must give as much credence to opposing views as they do to their own, and as objectively as possible, determine fact from opinion. Thank you, John, for sharing your wisdom.
