10 anos atrás quando vi esse vídeo pela primeira vez jamais imaginaria que algum dia moraria em Portugal... Hoje vivo no Alto Alentejo... E que lugar magnífico ❤
I saw this amazing woman playing on the streets in Lisbon a few years back. I fell in love and have been trying to see if I could find out who she was and if she has an album(s) somewhere.
Craig-Aaron There is a facebook site of Patricia. I don´t know if you have found this site already: facebook.com/ppereiraconcertina?fref=ts And there is another interesting video of Patricia on youtube: th-cam.com/video/A4EV9KITb74/w-d-xo.html
Nice rendition of this tune, by one of the all-time great masters of the diatonic accordion. Too bad he is no longer with us. If you like this tune, there are lots of recordings of other people playing his music on youtube (but not much actually of Delicq, unless I'm missing him among all the recordings by others).
Sunning. Simply stunning. Enjoyes so much in our home in California. That is a beautiful concertina to. 1950s? it should be with you. you are wonderful.
Generally this is indeed a diatonic accordion. However in Portugal such instruments are often called concertina. Therefore I have choosen "concertina" in the title of my video. I have added "diatonic accordion" in the title, too.
I wondered about that. In English, a concertina has buttons on the side, while an accordion has buttons or keys on the front. Diatonic accordions like this one are sometimes called melodeons. Thanks for explaining the Portuguese use of the word. :)
hey, video maker. Amazing job!! the same artist I checked on the other TH-cam. but yeah. your one is the best. nice shooting. amazing job. thank you for sharing.
To those of us who play Anglo (also known as "Anglo-German") or English concertina, the "Boer type" Anglo, or the Chemnitzer or Bandoneon concertinas (yes, they are all different specific types; its a bit involved to explain the differences here), the young woman here is playing an *accordion*, not a *concertina*. Yes, I realize it's called a "concertina" by Portuguese musicians in general (and similarly by other nationalities as well). It's a bit of the unfortunate reality of naming instruments; throughout history, various different instruments have been called by the same or confusingly similar names (you want to see true utter linguistic mayhem, try chasing down the various names, at various times in history, of the myriad different types of flutes. Or, woodwinds in general...). We're all free-reeders, as I see it.
@@pierstheoneandonly I am sorry to say that, yes, they are all brothers, but everyone that you named in here, Gaita and Concertina too, have some little differences, i know for sure that this is an "Organetto", the italian version of "accordeon diatonique"!

It's not a concertina. It's a Melodeon, which is a diatonique accordeon.
You may want to change the title of the video and you are welcome for the nice compliment and share of your work-GB

magnifique 🌻⚘💖
Very nice playing :-)
She sure has a passion for the melodeon. Great !
In Portuguese the Diatonic Accordion is called "Concertina" or "Gaita" just an FYI. But Properly it is known as "Accordeao Diatonico"
As I suspected. It's called an 'accordion' in Ireland. In England a 'melodeon'.
In Algeria we have a instrument called Ghaita wow good to know
