- Learn how to make a reusable menstruation pad using cheap available resources so as to reduce and end period poverty. Let's learn about the materials needed to make a leak proof sanitary pad.
Demonstration by Voiceless Orphan Taskforce Uganda (VOTU), a local NGO implimenting grassroot projects in Uganda for the marginalized groups of people i.e orphans, widows, HIV victims, Vulnerable women and children from poor families.
Together with Global Bridge Network (GBN) a Japanese NPO and SORAK Dev't Agency another local NGO, We are implimenting a 2 yeas project to "Improve Education Environment For Adolescent Girls by Addressing Menstrual Health Challenges in Uganda".
A s we try to create sustainable solutions for our vulnerable communities in Uganda, We have embarked on skilling 3,000 beneficiaries on how to make reusable pads as a way of helping those that cannot afford disposable pads monthly.
The solution is ecofriendly and affordable. Our aim is to help girls stay in school with comfort during their periods, reduce absentism from class and also improve household incomes as a way of ending period poverty.

Step #3: Sew the Core Pieces. ...
Step #4: Sew that Combined Piece to the Topper Piece. ...
Step #5: Sew the Pad. ...
Step #6: Attach the Snaps or Sew a Button.
If you have no sewing machine, feel free to use a needle and free hand. This also gives options to people with disabilities and those that have no experience using a sewing machine
