I travel to Japan almost every month because of business...and one of the things I look forward to is watching Japanese prank shows on tv. It's hilarious. They are all good sports about getting pranked.
I absolutely admire Japanese sense of humor, accepting these pranks with a smile... In Italy, back where I come from, people could kill, if they were pranked this cruel way 😂
The Japanese are the most gracious and good spirited competitors I've ever known. People in the West would literally take these pranks to court if they were on the receiving end of these pranks.

Think of all the effort put into every single prank... All the technology used (like 35 friggin cameras for a single prank); the whole movable rooms... All for a prank... These guys are artists
The oil slide. Michopa was such a good sport. Her reaction was like what are you going to do to me next? It was all very funny, but she took the crown. Her reaction of joy and humor at the end when she looked at her but to see she was sitting on the bullseye and broke out laughing at how funny it all was. Very classy, cute and funny.
Just like their durable vehicles, superb cameras including video ones, etc., Japanese pays its meticulous attention to the detalils as well as their safety like no one else. Thoroughly enjoying & appreciating these unique Japanese pranks. Many thanks to all concerned.,,,,,,(09/30/22)
Most of the victims from this prank shows are related to TV, modeling and other entertainment. They cannot be very mad to potential employers. Added to the fact the actual Japanese society discourages this kind of interpersonal conflict. The crudest pranks in any western country could end at the Justice Court.
I’m Japanese and I think, in Japan, being pranked is young celebrities’ job. Those who are not big names and persons skilled at being pranked must do such things to entertain viewers and as well as be popular.
They are also not just "pranked out of the blue". They actually have a contract on pranking, where it's written that they may be subjects to these pranks, but of course it's not said when and where and how. And obviously pranks are done by professionals and are not a health hazard, but they are quite creative and fun. Basically Japan knows how to have fun and I hope that they never change. Not like the whiners and oversensitive people in western world.
