Wouah again! You are a real duck hunter that can take any adversaty on any kind of weather, make it yours! I admire all your efforts on these solo kayak hunts as you manage this impressive and efficient decoys rig! Perfect hide in the cattails and the perfect mix bag on a slow moving day. Thanks again for sharing your life and All the information that this video illustrated, so much to think about. Be safe on the water and good winds and good days to come for you. Saint Hubert always with you! Take care.😊
Living a dream. That type of day is, in my opinion, the best type of duck hunting day. I don’t want my day to ever be quick and I love a mixed bag. Those will be some good eating ducks
@HighPrairieSportsmen here in nys divers are just showing up are 2nd split (last split of the season) opens December 9th or 12th and we are hoping to get after the goldeneye and red heads. We have a great season so far and you have had an awesome season so far. Hope you do some more goose hunts! Whether it’s group or solo hunts there always awesome!
That takes Me back when I hunted the Kent Narrows with my Grandfather,We and I shot a lot of Cans,Bluebills and Redhead and then had a Mallard Black duck set on either side of the Shore ,and bag them often.Back then we had the number limit .Each bird had a numeric value and You where limited out at 100, But You could take 2 Seventy point birds and usually they where Mallard Hens or Both sex Black Ducks,My memories live on in You and now I hunt Public places. Great Video!
From the great Northwest public duck blind , matt I have that exact same boat with the clam shell blind that you could buy for it it works well for me in my situation on public land also keeps me dry. I have a 3 pound propane heater that I put in there keeps me warm I've cooked breakfast to fresh hot biscuits with butter and mom's black Berry jam did well today got my limit nice birds love the whole set up as always God. Bless from the great Northwest where it's duck season.
thats like the columbia river special, a couple mallards, couple wig, and a few divers hopefully canvasbacks or redheads but always end up being buffleheads
@ hey you know what you’re doing so. I could suggest a splasher when you are in river territory but looks like you don’t need it huh. I could suggest a tip or two on your shooting presentation but obviously you don’t need that either lol. So good stuff is all I got. I know it when I see it especially with you using the laser beam. (28g)
Your videos are awesome! I've been watching since last duck season (which was also my first season duck hunting) and I'm a huge fan of how you don't cuss in your videos. But I have a question for you, what's the tapping before you shoot? Love the videos and keep up the great content!
I’d be getting 2-3 of those mounted. I’ve only taken one bufflehead on KY Lake but unfortunately I blew its head off. Those Boss shells don’t mess around.
What are the approximate shot distances you are taking. I believe the video said stock improved cylinder. I know the go pro makes it look further but either way great shooting.
Tasty bufflehead is created by filleting the breast, cutting the breast in strips, sautee in olive oil, and place sauteed strips in the pickle juice. Great field snack. Rick Kaminski
Ik you are shooting tss on this hunt but do you think the bismuth loads you normally shoot are worth it over steel? I’ve been shooting steel out of my 20 gauges the last 3 season but I’m thinking of making the switch. Thoughts?
Are you sponsored by Salt Creek? Do you notice a big difference in shooting that tss? Don’t think I’ll ever buy it because at $5.34 a shell that’s definitely a rich guys load. Just curious in the difference it makes.
I'm trying out some 28 ga loads for them. Absolutely. TSS is denser than both steel and bismuth and maintains its velocity longer, resulting in increased knockdown power. I've more scotch double this year than ever before because of it.
Man I love your videos because of the camera quality but your calling is absolutely horrendous. I have never heard anyone make those noises and not flare birds😂
Are you sure it's wise to be paddling out in a lake in Nov. singing about a shipwreck that happened in Nov.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Haha it was stuck in my head all day because of the weather.
Great job on identifying drakes! I really appreciate the way you hunt. Up close, decoyed shots. Ethical shooting!
Thanks!
Loved to watch the classic canvasback gilding and cupping long and low. Then crumpled. Good shot at those long range, Matt. Amazing what 28 can do.
Love when they decoy in like that.
Great bag Matt, cool to be in a spot you can target puddles and divers…
Thanks!

Good job Matt keep it up buddy!

What a hunt, another fun one to watch. Great stuff Matt!

Great video! The mixed bags are always my favorite, also the longer shots with the 28 gauge were really impressive!

I’d love to see after the hunt how you clean and cook/store the meat!
I'll try to do a few videos about that

They were pretty birds.
Another great hunt! Any particular reason you don’t like gadwalls? They are a nice big duck and I find them quite tasty.
Thanks! Gadwall like to feed in stagnant backwater areas on sludge that smells like sulfur in my area. This affects their taste.
@ Thanks for the info. Makes sense now.
🤠👏👏👏
👍🏻
Greetings from Türkiye 👍👏👏
👍🏻
tss 8 is =3 lead ive been thinking 8.5 tss would be great for any bird inside of 70 yards
I'm very impressed with its performance.
please keep passing the gaddies and send em to s. tx!
Will do!
😊👍
👍🏻
Looks like those loads are really reaching out and touching them. Hard to tell on video. What kind of distance are you getting those longer birds?
35-40 yds is my best estimate
What are the approximate shot distances you are taking. I believe the video said stock improved cylinder. I know the go pro makes it look further but either way great shooting.
Yes, stock IC with TSS. It likes a looser constriction. Shots were all 40 yards and in.
@ awesome man I’m too broke for tss rightnow most of my shots are less than 30 in the timber on wood ducks.
how you liking that new kayak, does do well in waves, wind?
I love it. It's handled good-sized waves just fine. Just hard to row into them
Dude awesome Cans! Are u using a Gopro? What format and or resolution are u recording in....its so crisp! Nice work!!
Thanks! Yep, GoPro Hero 8. Linear, 1080p 60
@@HighPrairieSportsmen thx

Another great one. Beautiful mix. When you tap your gun are you turning our camera on?
your camera on?
@paul-68 thanks! Yeah. It activates the Shotkam
@@HighPrairieSportsmen noticed you always tapped as the birds were coming in. At first i thought it was a Ritual so that your shots were true.
Which particular kayak were you using today? Only recently started watching your videos and I am not familiar with the different kayaks you use.
Beavertail Stealth 2000
What camera do you use for the underside of your gun?
Shotkam Gen 4

Yes, I'd recommend bismuth over steel. It has better knockdown power than steel, resulting in fewer crippled and lost birds.
@ thank you! I appreciate the info.

Gadwall are way better than bufflehead. Why pass on a gaddy but be go for a nasty butterball
@@Tryagainson I don't shoot many bufflehead and like the looks of the drakes. I'd put their tablefare as similar.
Buffleheads are not nasty and second of all they are some of the cleanest birds in the world
