😃Good morning Irene and Dave, Very nice adventure. Dave you are such a gentleman for you carrying those poles. Irene I was worried about your phone in your back pocket while crossing that river😲😲. The snack cake looked delicious. Pistol bean queen too bad you couldn't go rub, rub, rub. Carey on😃
Whew...We certainly got our exercise in this beautiful Sunday morning. That was pretty crazy. Glad no one got swept out to the Gulf. Great video guys! Carey On!
Georgia, SC and NC have so many great waterfalls you can visit - some are practically right by the roadside/parking lot and some require hiking. There are hundreds of them. Hope you can spend more time in the area.
Hi guys! I am impressed by at least two things. All honor to those who have built the stairs and bridges in this and other places. And to you who dare to challenge yourself in such places. For river crossings I can recommend something that a fisherman has recently used, crocs. Lightweight and dries quickly. And change into hiking boots afterwards, of course.
Very beautiful area. I can remember how slippery the rocks in the gorges can get, Ithaca is 25 miles east of me. But the shale around here is too sharp to go barefoot, so I always wore old sneakers. Irene would you please pause the videos a few seconds longer on the signs, I'm a slow reader 😉, thank you.
The river crossings looked like the world’s wettest version of Twister 😂 I never made it there when I lived in GA, but went to Helen and Toccoa several times. It’s a beautiful area.
That was exciting….but I’m exhausted. I do wonder if you had a SPOT or Garmin InReach or similar with you because you really should have one when doing a hike like this..one mis-step and it could be serious. This was fun, but definitely a work-out.
I. went to college in Clarkesville GA down the road we would come up and jump off a cliff across the street into the lake the water was so cold you would go under over.20 feet. I never hiked down into the gorge I don't think. they had the steps in the mid 80's.
They do offer maps at the Center where you get your permit. Generally, the point where you are at Oceana Falls, the end is down around the corner at Bridal Veil. Granted, there are no stairs on the way out the south face, it is all straight up boulder to boulder and not going up the south face you missed an overlook waterfall you can't see elsewhere for Tempesta Falls. Going back out the stairs is actually probably a lot easier.
Did you hear the banjo music ? That's my old stomping grounds, lots of natural beauty in the area. Got to see the Toccoa falls in Toccoa GA. And read the history there.
If you were to ask, no I would never do that trail. I would find something more fun to do like go to my TH-cam and watch one of your videos. I would have some scones also.

Thanks Vickie. Even if Pistol was allowed to go I fear Dave would have been carrying her too😁
Managing this trail While Filming was definitely impressive!
Definitely a challenge!😉😂
Wow! That was pretty extreme looking.👍🏻
It was crazy! But fun:)

Building those stairs was an amazing feet! And they were built very well.
Very beautiful area.

😂😂😂 Georgia is one of those states that takes a long time to explore. So diverse and beautiful.
Waterproof phone pouch :)
🙌😁
Next time you come to Vancouver, try the Grouse Gring (if you haven't already). 2830 steps over 2624 feet of elevation!
Sounds like our kind of fun!🙌

That was an awesome hike. If that water was a little higher it could really be hairy!
Definitely. Any higher and we wouldn’t have done it.
Wow, that was so cool!!!🥳🎃

Darn crazy college kids!😉😁
