He sang about how SAP,privatization, deregulation was used to doom many African countries into poverty. I hope you all know that is the main point of the song. Around that time one British pound went from 5 naira to 28 naira in 2 weeks. Was supposed to help us with exports but we really didn’t have much to export

Fela..simply put: GENIUS PAR EXCELLENCE!!! In fact, he is a genius of geniuses and the greatest musician EVER!!! This particular tune ALWAYS does it for me musically and makes me happy that I am a musician. The "QUICK, QUICK, KIA KIA, HARAKA HARAKA AND BANGISA BANGISA" parts ALWAYS make my head ring and tintinnabulate because of the way they were harmonized and how they were delivered: SHEER MUSIC HEAVEN!!! KUDOS TO THE ONE AND ONLY ABAMI EDA AD INFINITUM AND EVEN AD NAUSEAM!!!
    Everybody say Yeah Yeah!!!

William Uko is right, but I'm not sure that was entirely the case. I think Fela was alluding to the fact that Babangida's reign in the late 80s brought about the dawn of computers. Government agencies and whatnot, left the age of manual gadgets, things were analog now, digitized, making the money harder to trace. Abacha would benefit from that measure, immensely, later on.
Babangida's trickey, as Fela talks about in this song, included gimmicks such as the Structural Adjustment Program (SAP) - a.ka. Suck African People, STP, and others.
