CURRENT SCHEDULE
Expect a new video every Sunday and Wednesday at 11AM Central!
How Farms Work by Ryan Kuster is a TH-cam channel based in rural Potosi, Wisconsin. Our mission is to teach those who didn't grow up on a farm what the farming life is like. These videos show the Kuster family working together raising cattle and crops. We believe everyone who wants to know more about farming should be able to share the farming experience with us and we look to educate the world on many essential agriculture topics.
How Farms Work takes place on ~1,100 acres with around 75-200 cattle at any given time. Four John Deere tractors are currently used on the farm, which are a 4020, 4640, 7600, and 8235R.

As a player of Farming Simulator 22 & American Truck Simulator on the PC, your harvesting and grain trucking videos are a double treat 😀
For those that don’t know what it is, the tall tower down at the Viterra is the Dubuque Shot Tower. Back in the day they’d drop molten lead from the top of the tower into a pool of water below. The fall would make the lead form a perfect sphere and the cold water would immediately harden the ball. These ball were then used in early smooth bore muskets and rifles.
Nothing like coming home from a rough day at work and seeing a new How Farms Work video has posted! Thanks for the effort you put into this channel Ryan. I get to relive the “good ole days” of the family farm and all from the comfort of my couch 😂
Great camera and drone shots Ryan! Thanks!
I watch alot of farmers on TH-cam Ryan, your videos just hit different high quality, the drone footage is amazing
i love to see brothers working together in farm life with there dad, that is something you dont see that often, nice picture of truck and farm life and you do good work on videos that make to share with us alll, thank you and good luck with the rest of your farm year
Great channel! That old FLD just keeps on going. Those are solid old trucks!
Hey Ryan I can't believe it's been another season for corn It was this time last year a lady friend of mine. When you were taking corn from the combine into the grain cart She was wondering how the corn gets out of the grain trailer Your video had the answer for her question.
The color in the drone shots are awesome 👌
Defiantly my favorite people to watch grow
Sounds like the semi has an exhaust leak. I could be wrong. Love the video! I hope you guys are having a safe and good rest of harvest!
It's had it since he bought it. That leak is costing him power.
it sounds so clapped how its ticking, been thinking its needing a overhead ran
Like always, another great video Ryan! Love the additional footage of putting the cameras on the side of your trucks with a time loop. Looooooks awesome!
Glad your back to a regular posting schedule.
Been a subscriber for a really long time. I believe that you are the first Ag channel I found. You said check out of the other videos, and I believe I have. Been liking them all. Happy subscriber 😊!
It's amazing you still can come up with new and original camera angles Ryan. Riding along with you in the video it reminds me of back in the day hauling cucumbers out of the field to the processor. When the fruit size is right, they had to be picked or the value would drop in as little as a day. Man, I remember days without end of driving U model Mack's with quad box transmissions from dawn until dusk.
Ryan you're photography and cinematography has always stood out over other farm channels. Keep up the great work!
Ryan, you have such a good eye on what and how to produce a video! Hope harvest is done for you now. That went by fast.
Love the song starting at 6:00, this and farming...makes me happy.:)
Need to get yourself some BullSnot Vis-a-bull glass cleaner. Spray foam cleaner that you spray on and wipe off. Melts those bugs right off and leaves a streak-free clean window. I drive OTR and use it weekly during the summer months when the bugs are hot and heavy.
One of these times I'll catch up with you between Dubuque and Dickeyville.
Until I retired I used to do confined space rescue.... storage bins were the worst...stay safe
Hey there the video is really great I love seeing different things on the farm it’s really cool to see what you guys have to offer
I have two of your t shirts, wore one the other day and guy asked me about it, told him it was a TH-cam channel I follow bc my mother grew up on a farm near St Peter, MN
You make good camera angles and as always I enjoy your videos.
A lot of corn in a day. Great vid from the underside of the truck bed.

A little exhaust leak, it always happens when you don't have time to fix it right away.

Hoping you're harvest continues safely and with minimal repairs. Interested in picture. Thanks for the work you put in on videos.
You need a new PDI manifold for the semi that ticking would drive me crazy
I'd check the head out as well, we had an M11 that couldn't keep manifold gaskets in, even after having the manifolds resurfaced.........
Hey Ryan!!! Really liking the new mic.
I'm interested. The night and sunset shots are my favorite. Keep up the good work.

Hey Ryan, great videos as always!! That one seen where the combine was unloading into the cart on the hillside looked so awesome!! That would make a great picture!!! Love the harvest videos, sounds like the Freightliner needs some exhaust work, got a pretty good leak!!! Keep up the awesome videos!!!!!
Love the drone footage especially the night shots!
Your front view camera makes you truck right hand drive in the introduction. Cool
The Dubuque Shot Tower at 6:52.
Molten lead poured through a sieve at the top of the tower, forming pellets which cool as it falls through the air.
I was surprised by the great lighting in the bin.
Really like the trailer cam shots. Great perspective.

Up so early to haul corn that the truck was protesting that early morning cold start. Even Rocket wasn't going to get up that early for a ride in the truck.
