How is it possible to feel lonely abroad if you're a COUPLE who are retiring together and you've both waited your entire marriage for these years to arrive. I mean, this is the Golden opportunity that you have both waited so patiently to experience together, and to TRAVEL and ENJOY...so passionately together. ❤ There is really no room for feeling lonely... especially living abroad without needing to work.

Interesting perspective. 😊 May I ask how long have you been living abroad? Through my experience of 27+ years of living in many countries, I can say that having your partner with you is marvellous. At the same time, you also want to have a social life. Meeting friends and learning the new culture. That is the ideal. The process is what is challenging for many Expats. Culture shock, language barrier and feeling alone are real. And no one should feel ashamed or awkward for feeling this way. It is part of the expat life. Awareness is key to transforming your life abroad and embracing it as the ideal plan we once had.
