Well done Amy. My wife suffers from severe mental health issues for the past 14 years. It is a horrendous illness for those experiencing it. Something to remember is the toll it takes on the carer as well (usually husband, wife or partner). They are often forgotten as all the focus goes towards the patient. Enjoy your challenge, you are a remarkable woman. All the best (From Australia)
You are one special young lady. Been watching your videos for a while now and you never cease to amaze me with your spirit and outlook on life. You and your lovely family really are amazing. Keep on smiling and keep up the good work ❤️
You’re the best, you help so many people struggling with their mental health, you’re an inspiration. I’ve just had a week in the Lake District, hired a gravel bike for the week, what fun, did rides I’d never have considered, I was riding down a hill & did one of your Yippees, didn’t care there were people at the side of the road, I was happy 😊
@@amy.cycling.adventures Hi Amy, thanks for taking the time to reply, I had so much fun last week, also hired eMTB to try riding around Grizedale Forrest, something I've never done before, really enjoyed it, with my daughter also called Amy
I've been there with mental health issues and still do from time to time. Please donate to this important cause. Amy, you go from strength to strength. Can't wait for part 2.
I've been watching some of your more recent videos but this one popped up. Your happiness and enthusiasm is contagious. This was for an amazing cause, close to my heart. You are so right, depression does not equal unhappiness. They are two completely separate things.
Amy, you are such a great advocate for those facing mental health challenges. If you had not shared your personal challenges most people would never know what you have gone through in life. You are definitely not the face of someone with depression or low self-esteem. However, you are the true face of mental health. You are helping people realize that mental health challenges are not always easy to see. This is incredibly important. As friends and family we need to dig a bit to find our people that need some assistance or are in danger. So often people are shocked by someone’s suicide because they “seemed” so happy. “We were supposed to meet for……….in a couple days.” A lot of people have this dark side that no one else can see and they don’t know how, or feel comfortable enough, to let it out so they can regain their mental wellness and rejoin their happiness. I haven’t faced the challenges you have but I still feel the mental wellness gained on the bike. It really is so huge. Bringing together your love of cycling and desire to help those with mental health challenges can be so beneficial for so many. Thank you for your efforts to raise money this week. It was not an easy week but should have been so fulfilling knowing how much of an impact you have on others. Great video as always. I ride hundreds of maloneys a month but always find inspiration in your videos and IG posts. Keep up the great work and “Don’t stop believing!”
Good on ya Amy. I totally understand the narrative that cycling is keeping you alive. I have been and Ultra-triathlete and cycle tourist for over 30 years and without those goals and experiences I would not be here. I have no family or friends to share my life with but strangers on the road give back so much and make it all worthwhile. One day, when I decide my time is done, I will be like an elephant and head off into the wild never to return and never to be found, but today is not that day.
Fantastic Amy, strong to talk about your struggles and inspirational, which is the main thing. I work in palliative care and your positivity is helpful 👍🙂
I'm with you on being open and honest with mental health. The one illness that over 1 in 4 of us suffer with but difficult to talk about. You are a bloody trooper and we are all proud of you!
Great that you have got people talking about this subject which may have been a taboo topic some years ago. Love the connection with exercise & mental health management & I have worked in a gym previously where sessions were catered for those suffering with mental health issues including PTSD. Well done you Amy for being a champion of the cause & getting people talking on this subject especially men.
Well Done Amy! you are such a inspiration you are a lot stronger than you think! Kyle is a great support for you. Ride safe the both of you and good luck! 👏👏👏👏👏
i suffer from mental health issues and im in the process of counselling myself . its important to talk about this sort of stuff and be there for each other . I have mad respsect for you aswell amy your context motivates me to do better on the bike and in general
Amy, your videos are brilliant. I've been watching for several months and the progress in your cycling and your day-to-day dealing with situations is raw and honest. Seeing Kyle a bit more often is great too - his expression when he received the cupcake in this video and his little impromptu mental health tip comments were great. Your little "milone" and "ding dang diddlio" type quirks are unique and real. Just wanted to drop a note of appreciation ❤
Cracking effort and a great cause. It’s amazing the difference exercise can make to your mental health. Like you, cycling has been a massive help for me. I view my bike as my therapist.
Ah, your videos really make me smile! Huge well done to you for this mega challenge and raising lots of money and awareness for such a worthy cause! You’re fab!! 😊
Beautiful~ loved it. C ongratulations on your fundraising effort, Amy. You have a wonderful family to support your effort. Love and faith and time heals. Never give up. Life is precious.
Well done Amy, keep up the good work! Can't believe you doing this AND still working! I rode 2700km from Romania to the UK for a dog rescue a couple of weeks ago, but it took me 18 days of annual leave to do it! You are most definitely a star *
New subscriber here and love your videos. Cycling has helped me enormously especially when my wife had breast cancer treatment along with the friends I made from Velo Moira. Getting help is the hardest part but once you have your starting to get better. Keep the videos coming love them.
Thank you so much, welcome to the channel! Sorry to hear what you've been through, totally agree with you, getting help is the first step to things getting better 🫶🏼
Miss Amy, Thank you for your support for Mental Health. That number here in the U.S. is 22 Veterans a day and that's just veterans. Awesome video and thanks for posting. Please keep up the good work.
Amy......... You absolute warrior!! Not gonna lie....the bit where you aimed the camera down to show your dress and your cycling shoes actually made me laugh out loud. 😆😆🤦♂️ Seriously inspired by your dedication to this challenge and this video has helped me more than you'll know. Although not anywhere near as arduous as your challenge, I am currently halfway through a challenge to raise money for the Motor Neurone Disease Association, by running 100km in October. It's a cause that has become closer to my heart than I ever would have wanted, as my friend of 47 years has just been diagnosed with MND. Feel kinda hopeless to be honest, as there is absolutely nothing I can do to help him. Your video has made me focus on getting my challenge done, rather than on the little aches and pains that are creeping in. Thanks for the massive inspiration.
Thanks so much!! Haha it was rather embarrassing 😂 Best of luck with your challenge that’s great! Running isn’t easy!! So sorry to hear about your friend. It’s great that you’re doing something positive out of it, Thanks for watching!
Commendations for your commitment to helping people with their mental health. It's not all about the life you live, sometimes it's about the lives you touch. If you are still in this world it's an indication that you have more to do and people who need you.
Wow - you are amazing. Thanks for sharing your insights on mental health - I completely get where you're coming from. Agree that it's a lonely place to be. I'm going to take inspiration from you and commit to a one hour ride this week.
You’re an angel Amy. I worked at the local hospital over Covid and my mental health suffered badly my doctor suggested I get back out on the bike again and I’ve never looked back since. Thanks so much for what you’re doing 🚴🏽♀️🎉🎉👍( I always take a packet of polo’s out with me because there’s two donkeys on my route they love them 🫏🫏

Oh my goodness Amy, the miles or should I say milones you are putting in are incredible. Did my very first 100km ride yesterday and it has definitely killed me. I thought it was a Gran Fondle, but have since found out a Gran Fondle is 120km. Good work for MH.
Well done Amy. 25 minutes of smiles whilst you did the miles! And, you’re spot on with the Aldi 100% peanut butter! Keep smiling! Keep happy! You’re a star!

Very impressive stuff and for a good cause indeed. Also reminds me to put a stronger battery into my LED harness this year. Will need it soon when riding can only be done in the dark (on week days).
Love your videos and really admire your grit in both managing your mental health and pushing through all those rides / early mornings / rain to stick to your plan, well done, inspiring stuff. Next time though pack some shoes 😂
Love this Amy. I have a medical condition which unfortunately side effects which includes depression, fortunately I have a tablet which counters my depression, so that's fine.
