My wife and I watched this a few day ago, we have followed your channel for about 5 years now, we both have to say that the last few videos have been great to watch, you have totally come out of your shell, you are having fun and enjoying life, maybe more than we have ever seen before. South Africa is amazing! I have lived near Johannesburg for most of my life, but I've never been to Hoedspruit. It's definitely on my "one day" list of things to do as it looks incredible. Malva pudding is an icon of traditional SA foods, it's made with a whole load of apricot jam and butter. Delicious! Looking forward to the next video 😊

The memories of being on a safari will last a lifetime. Harriet and I have been on two safaris. One in Tanzania and the other in South Africa. We got lucky on both. Looks like you did too.
One thing that we came away with going on them is the friendships that we continue have to this day. That was very important to us, not just looking at animals. Phoebe and James,

Oh wow - how was the safari in Tanzania compared to SA? I've heard they're amazing too!
We liked them both for different reasons. We enjoyed more traditional food in Tanzania Chapati and Biryani and enjoyed SA for the accommodation's great views from the lodges. @@travelforphoebe

I thoroughly enjoyed every second of this episode! I never had a desire to do a safari until now, just amazed at the diversity of animals you saw. Sorry you didn't get to see a wild dog but hope the leopard made up for it!
That makes me so happy that you feel inspired to do a safari! Honestly, it's one of the most amazing experiences you'll ever have in your life. It's unlike anything else :) I kinda like that I didn't see the wild dogs yet... feels like I'm saving it up! I'm gonna lost it when I finally see them :)
Love when you said ‘don’t get out’, lol. First afternoon with us, they bellied the Land Rover and we had to get out for 2 hours, with everything around us
I mean, don't get out when ya next to a lion hahaha We got a flat tire and waited for a little while they fixed it, the scariest part was the heat haha :D
I love to visit Safari.
Amazing!! I would have been in heaven seeing that leopard so close I could touch it! Visiting South Africa and doing a safari are on my “trips of a lifetime” list! Will definitely look up Kapama’s resorts when that time comes.

PHOEBE! I was at Kapama River Lodge 1 week ago celebrated my The BIG 50 for a big 5 safari celebration . Five star treatment the food is delicious. I love that the guide, housekeeper and waiter the same thru your stay. I miss Kapama 🇿🇦♥️

Phoebe, Kapama needs to make you their international ambassador! This video was so good I watched it twice. You totally sold us and we have put Kapama top of our list for our planned Africa trip in January 2026. BTW if you want to see wild dogs we saw a pack in Hwange, Zimbabwe when we were there some years ago. Honestly, there are more exciting animals. That leopard you filmed was amazing. Unfortunately, I fractured my distal radius (wrist) in two places 5wks ago at work and are currently un-fit to work, travel until Feb. This has been on my bucket list for who knows how many years, but, I now really wanna go. WOW, like W O W !!!

Hi, brilliant vlog, how many days would you say is good foe a safari?.
Thanks! As many as you can spare - I’ve done three safaris (an absolute privilege!) The first was 2 days and it was far too short. The next was 3 days and that was much better but having 4 days was excellent. The more days you have, the more game drives, the more chances of varied sightings and encounters.

Do you know if this company offers trips in Wakanda? After watching the Black Panther movies, my goal is to visit Wakanda. I know Wakanda in real life is definitely not as spectacular like in the movie (no place on earth is looks like the year 50000 AD) but I really want to see what Wakanda is like.
