    Paradigm has always been a brand under the radar, they one of the best brands you can buy, look at the process of manufacturing it’s astonishing, they are very detailed in their process

    I've had several sets of Paradigms: Performance Atoms, Monitor Atoms, Mini Monitors, up to my floor-standing Monitor 7 v3 with DSP 3200 powered subwoofer. Amazing speakers - they always fight well above their price point.

    I have these and am very satisfied. I don't need to turn down the treble. I run them with a Fosi Audio V3 and stream Spotify with a WiiM Mini. Really good sound for the price.

    Waiting for my shipment tommorow for a pair of SE 3000f Paradigm floor models. Excited to try them out. I hope I am not disappointed. Thanks for your great review.

    I have the black version of these, and I don't find them too bright. Just the right highs and detail to not be fatiguing to my ears. Better than teteron or horn tweeters that tire my ears out before long.
    They seem to be, as the name suggests, a combination of the old Performance Series, smaller V1-V4 Atom speaker and the V1- V4 Mini Monitor speaker.
    But this speaker has a 5.25" woofer, same as old V1-V4 Atom, so it will be better for midrange sounds while at the same time having close to the big bass extension and sound stage of the old V1-V4 Mini Monitor with it's 6.25" woofer.

    Thanks for another great video, nearly bought a pair of these a while back, don't think I would have been disappointed with them either. Impressed with the A30 as well, especially since I own a Topping PA3, only used as a spare amp, but it certainly doesn't seem to have the power of the Loxjie

    Love my Paradigms. Been a proud supporter for a very long time. However, I'd have to pass on these if they're bright, as you say.
    So awesome you ran them with your Denon.
    Thank you for reviewing them. They don't get enough love out here in the TH-cam world.

      You do have to give the speakers several hours of break in for the woofer and the tweeter to settle down. Generally, the higher the quality of the speaker, the longer its break in period will be.

      They aren't bright, or fatiguing in my experience. They are however more sparkly, but not too forward like a Klipsh. They are fun, and meant for good off axis sound (better for parties, and movies). You could easily toe these out for reduced brightness for your listening position.

    Hello Mr Tharbamar, Thankyou for all your excellent reviews, especially the listening tests! I would be very interested to hear what you think of the Revel Concerta2 M16 speakers that have been well reviewed over the years, however there has been no thorough review on TH-cam so far. Would be interesting to see how it compares to other speakers you have reviewed such as the Quad S2 , Kef LS50, Focal, B&W speakers etc
    Many thanks, Ross

    That's interesting that your measurements don't show the brightness but yet you had to bump it down -8db. Based on ASR's in room frequency response estimate he shows that the tweeter has a resonance that's +7db at 15khz so it lines up with your need to go -8db pretty well.

    I used to have a 5.1 Paradigm setup like 20 years ago, the entry level Reference series. I don’t remember them being bright at all, in fact quite the opposite. Very balanced and neutral, which I absolutely loved. Has Paradigm changed over the years? I think now I like the brand Aperion best for their more neutral balance.

    • @Wolfenscheid
      @Wolfenscheid 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The reference series was always more reserved on the high end than the monitor series (but also has a way larger sound stage). The monitor series, as the more budget offering, has a more forward high frequency presentation that some find harsh and usually does not have the same ability to image.

      I have noticed the same. I have always been able to crank Paradigms without them being bright or fatiguing. They are more sparkly, but not bright. They are a tad forward, but nowhere near something like a Klipsh. In comparison, they are laid back, but still fun.

    Hi, good review as always :) thanks
    I had these some time ago and I was comparing with elac dbr62 bookshelfs and what happened? I have sent paradigms back (too small, bright), I left elac , I sold evo 4.1 (not bright but tiring, strange..) Everything was pairing with audiolab 6000a and Magnat Mr 780 (audiolab out , too analytical..) That is my quick history for now :)
    I am thinking about wharfedale diamond 12.2 but I am not sure if they beat elac..so I am looking forward to see Your another review...:)
    Regards

    What’s ur recommended Mid level bookshelf speakers?

    • @Cujobob
      @Cujobob 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m not sure what mid level is to you, but check out the Philharmonic Audio new ceramic mini monitor. Dennis Murphy also is the designer for Salk Sound which you may be familiar with. His line is huge bang for the buck.

    Your measurement doesn't seem to show brightness. That's why people need to listen with their ears instead of worshipping graphs. (I'm not anti-measurement for the record, but some people go overboard.)

    • @Cujobob
      @Cujobob 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Measurements can identify brightness in a speaker. If you can hear it, it can be measured. Making sure there aren’t excessive resonances, stored energy, or issues with dynamic compression is really important.
      It’s just not possible to listen to every speaker or even audition in home due to how complicated many speakers are to ship/package.
      Paradigm lost me years ago with their poor designs, so I wouldn’t really be considering them if I were on the hunt.
