Great tips. I couldn't agree more - starting early is so important 😊 Thanks for sharing! In my experience it all comes down to how you communicate your skills and how you approach the company creatively. Online job applications are quite competitive for students requiring visa sponsorship, yet those doors are still open if you approach the same company in a more creative way - i.e. attend their networking events, etc.
I will be coming to Coventry University by January 2021 for MSc Pharmacology and Drug Discovery. What time is best to start and what are the services you can offer to help me secure a student job?
Hi Gieun, good question. Typically graduate schemes are intended for those no more than 1 year from their graduation date - so not for 1st years. Instead, for first years, Vacation Schemes, Spring Week Experience opportunities and Internships are the ways of gaining experience. I hope this helps :-) Raj
Hi, I will be starting my course for MSc in International Business Management this upcoming September. Should I start applying for a job as early as my arrival date in the UK?
Dear Gilang, yes you'll need to start applying early.... and honestly... preferably before you even arrive, since some graduate schemes for jobs starting in September 2021, will start recruiting from August 2020. You can apply online, and I imagine you'll feel even better if you arrive already having submitting some applications. For a lot of those roles, early recruitment stages (phone interviews etc) will start from September/October 2020. I wish you the best of luck, and I look forward to welcoming you in Sep/October :-) Raj
