- A very rare and special Culture live performance straight from the RVP video vaults, this is Culture frontman Joseph Hill's last recorded concert at Reggae Sundance just 1 week before his death. The last documented performance of Mr. Joseph Hill is from Reggae Sundance, Genneperparken, Eindhoven in The Netherlands on August 12th , 2006, before his untimely passing on August 19th, 2006.
The reggae legend Joseph Hill was born January 22nd, 1949 and passed on the August 19th, 2006 after collapsing following a performance in Berlin, Germany.

I can't watch him without tears in my eyes. I remember him taking the risk to come yo my home country of Sierra Leone 🇸🇱 for a peace concert begging us to stop killing eachother. His love for Africa and Africans was incredible.
Joseph Hill will always be one of my favorite reggae artistes. Along with Bob Marley, Peter Tosh and a few others, he inspired me to be the international human rights activist that I am today.

Barely 3 weeks after he performed at our club FOR THE SECOND TIME ( he wasn’t feeling good & flew straight from the Ivory Coast ,W.Africa to fulfill his contractual commitments ) we didn’t know until we go to the Artist Bus after settling with their management . We found him lying on his bed sweating profusely ,he ask his crew to let us in & hearing the news while we were in the Bahamas when he died was terrible news. Joseph is a try n outstanding ,caring, professional,sweet,intelligent,smart & nice man ALL AROUND .
