Your sub cities only join your march if soloing monsters. You should be rallying monsters so your alliance can join and get the benefits helping everyone grow. If they send Sanada and Hernando Cortes the debuffs stack helping you kill larger monsters.

I heard it suggested to max Sanada's first specialty which gives you -15 monster attack, I already have Aethelflaed and her first specialty is already maxed -15% monster attack so I tested her on a sub and the results are identical to having Sanada with no specialty. So it appears the gain will be minimal.

If you are going to gear Sanada's for sub generals for your sub cities your best bet is to use sub city books to get the most out of them while they are appointed to them.

Not funny. It's only a reality to free to play players. Suppose that you can fully upgrade the specialties of 1 gen/ year. Using the main PvP cav will work better for you than a non-upgraded gen. It's not about beeing optimal. Obviously a full Ceasar or Aethelflad would be better, it's not only plausible to get everything since you have other priorities like wall or other Pvp marches

Friend its difficult to mention all the basics in 1 video, it is must to have 2 seperate Assist Gen for Monster killing and PVP so that we can implement right Skillbook for both and should not miss these easily achievable buff. And changing Assist Gen is easy as we have no investment on it.
The only practical alternatives are Theodora, Nathanael Greene, and Baibars. Cavalry PvP generals get their job by having excellent cavalry buffs, which is important for taking down the monster. Leading with Baibars/Nathanael Greene is a greedy play which pays well if you don't need the throughput of cavalry generals (ex: killing warlord 2 with 400k t12s). These generals have significantly weaker buffs, but if it doesn't matter because you have lots of troops, you can take some extra double drop rate or keep some extra stamina instead.

My cavalry team has attack, HP, march size, troop speed, luck, and attack against monsters. I don't use two assistants.
If you use Martinus, Laudon, or Massena, you don't have that issue because you don't need an attack book. Just put defense, HP, troop speed, march size, luck, and attack against monster, and use the same generals for both monsters and PvP. (And I suggest putting luck on the assistant so that you can substitute Baibars if the monster is weak enough to kill without an assistant.)
