I'm with you on that, one of the very best commentators and sports journalists we have produced, he formed a great commentary team with Jim Watt. A lot of people didn't realise he only had one leg, he was in a tank crew in WW2, and lost his leg in a mine explosion.

Jones could have gone all the way. Made the mistake all punchers make - looked for a one punch knockout in his fights with Milton Mc Crory. If he had just boxed him the same he did here the punch would have come. I shouted myself hoarse at each fight but he never heard me...

Jones was always a good watch and I am glad he came out of the game early because he had three shots of the main prize and came up short.
