Но не так круто как на льду...
На большом поле с маленьким мячом

I'm curious, does shinty have other scoring methods other than goals like its "cousin" sport hurling (e.g. a goal being worth more than 1 point while a point is just worth 1 point)?

Yes a goal is the only score and is worth 1 point.

This sport is now played in several countries outside of Scotland, there are english teams also.Gained quite a footing here in the usa now , as a highlander I am very proud of that fact.

Bunty MacDougall And you should, but hurling in ireland is a major sport our showpiece occasion attracts 80,000 evey year and the championship attracts 500,000.The camanachd final atracts just 4000.Still there are huge expanses of ireland where the sport is very weak.Shinty deserves to be much more popular in scotland than it is.

Seán Leahy Well its as if shinty is confined to one county.Shinty is played in the highlands which has roughly the same population as county galway.they could have a county system, that wouldn't change attendances much since populations in these counties would be paltry and no tradition of intercounty rivalry has been established.Fair play to them for keeping it live in a sparcely populated area with few employment opportunities and where the population is declining.Shinty would be as important to the highlands as hurling is to kilkenny though long may it last
