Happy Thanksgiving! Thank you for sharing your holiday with us! I have voice recordings of my beloved grandmother telling me stories, and I’ll cherish them forever. Whenever I miss her, I push play and close my eyes & hear her voice ❤
Heck yes . . . use those tablecloths as long as you can. Reminds me of 1969. In service I sent by grandmother a handmade tablecloth from Hong Kong and a set of stoneware dishes from Japan. That Christmas they sent me a picture of the whole family gathered around her big round table set for dinner. That tablecloth was stained through the years, but wish I still had it. A young girl in the family took the dishes when grandmother died . . . made me happy.
True! "Stuff" the bird, "dress" the plate. Also, some families say that stuffing is made of mostly bread & that dressing is made mostly of cornbread. 😋
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours! I am thankful for your channel and YOU!❤ Love this time of year with family and friends and just the lovely cozy feeling it brings even if things don't go as we hoped. God is so good! Your channel helps remind if that every time I watch😊
Love from my family to your's. Please pray for everyone who was affected by the hurricane and make sure they are able to have a happier holiday season. Share the Love. Love is the glue that holds everything together in our Universe.
I never had a dishwasher in all three of my homes. I have always washed dishes by hand. People think I’m nuts. But I love to wash dishes it cleans my hands and I don’t have to worry about it breaking and flooding my kitchen. Plus with the view out my window to the mountains I could stand there all day and watch the deer and the birds. ❤
Our children and grandchildren live in many states, but we all spend Thanksgiving together by renting a large house or resort together for a week. This year we were in the Outer Banks. We have been in Virginia, Tennessee, Chicago, and Caribbean cruise. I am grateful that our children’s families and our grandchildren ages 6 to 23 still want to be together-loving each other and praising God.
Granny! Dang she filled her plate UP! I love that. She must be feeling good. We put raw eggs, sausage and applesauce in our dressing. Super moist in the middle, crispy on the top. Blessings to all!
I so loved your thanksgiving it was wonderful food everything looked beautiful loved seeing all of you and your family especially granny your all a blessing to me ❤️ Shelby
Hi Tipper lovely last videos your gathering of leaves etc for decorating Katie helping with cake, and now todays with the family prep for Thanksgiving everthing looked very delicious, thanks for sharing
The Mountain View restaurant made a roasted turkey Ruben sandwich. Basically it was a Ruben sandwich made with roasted turkey, dressing, jellied cranberry sauce cheese and mayo Grilled in butter with thousand island salad dressing on the side. It was absolutely delicious.
What? No custard for Granny's applesauce cake? 😊 We're all happy to see your family together, enjoying each other and sharing blessings over four generations.
I was glad to see all your family together. Haven’t got to enjoy that for many years. All the years that I enjoyed making dressing I never heard of putting vinegar and mustard in it. But we all make it the way the cook makes likes it. I never made it dry, but if it had sage in it I was happy. I put sausage and chopped up apple in mine , that gave it a little spicy flavor , I wish Matt would make a cook book. He really knows flavors. God bless you and your family.
That was a wonderful video. Another great video. Thank you for sharing it and all your family got together. What a blessing. Thank you for sharing it.❤
Don't forget to try the ham, cranberry sauce, and horseradish in a sandwich. Also learned this year, use leftover dressing, put it in your waffle iron, and use it as your "bread" in making a leftover sandwich!
Tipper, my precious Daddy would only eat canned jelly cranberry sauce. No matter what fancy new cranberry sauce recipe my Mama was trying out, she would always make sure she had the canned kind for him. Sweet memories. Matt is in good company! Happy Thanksgiving to your family. ❤️
I'm laughing with Matt! I'm a person considered a "serious cook" by my friends and family. Serious about French sauces, technique, gourmet type recipes etc... But I love the jellied cranberry out of the can! Everybody cracks up when I serve it on the dish in its whole entirety, can marks and all! Everybody laughs because it has become a silly tradition. I am who I am...it's delicious 😊! BTW, I consider your channel to also showcase "serious" cooking. Fine regional cooking is a national treasure. I've learned so much from you. Thank you.
I read a fab little article today about a family who have everyone write their name on the white table cloth and then it’s embroidered. It often has embellishments like a graduation cap next to someones name or ‘first’. It would be something your family could do either each thanksgiving or Christmas get together. The family I read about lost a daughter and love seeing her name on the cloth each year. They add to it every year.
My mother would always have a starched tablecloth on the dining room table. Your spread of food looked wonderful! Thank you so much for sharing your Thanksgiving with us. So, appreciate it.
What a beautiful feast-I love to see so many people come together. Orphans thanksgiving was my specialty, my biggest year I had 19 people-it was so nice. I have a brand new dishwasher and have never used it-takes too long. Mt friend says if I won’t use it the hoses will dry put and leak-still don’t use it. Tipper you gave me an idea to use it for storage!
My great grandmother would use so much fresh sage in her dressing that it would have a green tinge to it. Sounds like too much but in its fresh state sage isn’t near as potent. Also, Miss Tipper, “stuffing” is what Americans began calling the mixture that went in the bird. This was eventually considered too vulgar of a term after the Great Awakening and ministers implored their congregations to call it “dressing,” instead. That’s why this term is so much more commonplace in what is known as the “Bible belt.” Just thought you’d appreciate that little bit of historical context! Happy holidays to you and yours.
Glad you had a wonderful Thanksgiving with family! Mustard and vinegar in dressing is a new one for me, but to each his own. I've made homemade cranberry sauce several times, but prefer the canned jellied Ocean Spray brand. A good dish washer, properly loaded, high water temperature, is more sanitary than hand washing. I will never be without one.
Such a feast! We are so fortunate to have good food to eat. Y'all look like feel after I've worked so hard getting ready, then do so much talking and listening and after everyone leaves, all the air goes out,so to speak.😅 You are kind to host your extended family.
I'm with Matt on the jellied cranberry sauce. 👍 It might be crap, but it is so good! LOL Hope y'all had an amazing Thanksgiving with lots of food, family, and fun. 🦃 Hugs 🤗 and God bless 🙏
I don’t think I ever ate cornbread dressing. My family just always ate whatever bread was laid out to dry out.My mom usually added oysters to half of pan.I think it is interesting how it can vary.
Cornbread dressing is so good. My Nannie put the cornbread dressing in the turkey while it cooked. When the turkey was done she would take the dressing out and put it in a pan and into the oven to brown up. Was never dry always good.
Hey guys, I feel privileged that you shared Thanksgiving and the preparations for the event. Tipper, I'm with you when it comes to dishwashers, I don't have one either. Call me strange but I like washing dishes.
I"m with you, Tipper. I'd rather hand wash my dishes. I tossed my dishwasher years ago and put shelves where my dishwasher use to be. Your food looks amazing.......Happy belated Thanksgiving to you and yours. Love and Blessings from Eastern Ky.
I love your home. It feels like Appalachia. I grew up in Berea, Ky.. If you haven’t already, you should really check it out. I’m in Colorado now, which has beautiful grand earth energy. But I’m very homesick for the SE. We are prolly gonna find a home back there pretty soon. Love seeing your home, traditions, and surroundings. 🙏💫 Happy Thanksgiving to ye!
I like the sliced cranberries out of the can, too, Matt. There are a lot of us out there, so don't apologize. LOL I do make homemade for everyone else, but I would be just as happy opening a can. One day, I hope you show the Apple Stack cake when it's served.
I too like the jellied cranberry sauce from the can! Dont like the other kind either...I like the side dishes, green bean casserole and broccoli casserole and the mashed taters...Will always miss my Dad's homemade pies, he was the best at it and we have not attempted since he has been gone, many years...Your feast looks amazing..God bless you all with good health and Joy ❤❤❤❤
Happy belated Thanksgiving! My mom referred to it as dressing outside of the bird and stuffing in the bird, but I usually call it stuffing. I use Aveeno Eczema treatment for my dry skin. It works really well.

Stuffing is never dry at our house. We just drown it in gravy. Gravy is a beverage at our house. 😂
😊
Funny but so true.
What a blessing that Granny was feeling strong enough to share in the meal and visit with the family. ❤
It was really nice 😊
I love the cranberry sauce that comes out of the can as well
Yeah! I especially like the OS whole cranberry sauce.
😊
What a bountiful meal! Every food looks good 😋 Now that's the biggest sweet tater ever! Thanks for sharing your food prep & family Thanksgiving Day 🦃
You always have a nice gathering, lots of family and good food, thanks for inviting us in ❤🙏🦃
Got to agree with Matt,I love the cranberry sauce in the can.

What a Thanksgiving feast. Beautiful family time. Yall have a blessed night.
Oh my goodness, what a feast! Looks like lots of good food and I imagine good fellowship too.
"Stuffing" is IN THE BIRD. "Dressing" is in a separate casserole dish. 👌
True! "Stuff" the bird, "dress" the plate. Also, some families say that stuffing is made of mostly bread & that dressing is made mostly of cornbread. 😋
I have always wondered about that. My conclusion was that it might be how or where you grow up. We didn't stuff. We called dressing 😂❤
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours! I am thankful for your channel and YOU!❤ Love this time of year with family and friends and just the lovely cozy feeling it brings even if things don't go as we hoped. God is so good!

Thank you! Yes we continue to pray for them and hope everyone does.
Thanks for sharing your Thanksgiving with us! Everything looked delicious- love hearing your stories, Tipper! What a sweet family you have!
I love hearing woodwrow making noise what a joy to hear a baby fussing. And Isiah when he's fussing both of them at the same time would be like heaven
I find that the amount of flour needed for dough can change based on the current humidity.
Love your thanksgiving videos thanks for sharing Tipper and Matt and Katie and Corrie
Our pleasure!

I use my dishwasher as a drying rack for the dishes . I enjoy to wash the dishes like you do.

Happy Thanksgiving! I love 'canned' jelly cranberries' also. 😊
Thanks for sharing your family with us! We had a nice day too.
Our pleasure! So glad you had a good day too!
I agree with Matt, the canned cranberry sauce is the best!
Katie mixing the dressing and 'gumming' made me think of my mother. She said we were always messing, gumming and strowing.
This Thanksgiving video is truly heartwarming! Thank you so much for sharing your family and celebration with your TH-cam family❤
So glad you enjoyed it!!

Using tallow products will help with dry hands. I order tallow soap from old country soaps in south Dakota.
Lovely family and traditions. Thanks so much for taking us along. Many blessings to you, and love from Rhode Island.
Our pleasure!
It’s so nice to see your big family get togethers with so much wonderful food! I’m gonna have to try making Matt’s deer ham, too.😃👍

It is so satisfying to watch you scrape the bowl I do the same thing nothing gets left behind 😂
Happy Thanksgiving🦃🍁🧡! My mother never used her dishwasher either, said having her hands in warm water was very therapeutic to her.

That's the sound of life in the background. Future fiddlers and guitar players. 😊
I’m with Matt, I like the jelly canned cranberry sauce best! Happy Thanksgiving!
We have called it 'dressing' forever, and Matt....it's not cranberry sauce unless it plops from the can! Hope you all had a blessed Thanksgiving.'
It's great seeing Matt help you in the kitchen I could not imagine my daddy helping my mommy
