  • This tour of the Redbank Valley Trail took place in June 2023 as a part of a longer tour I called “The Great Western PA Rail Trail Tour” which also included the Pine Creek Rail Trail, the Allegheny River Trail, the Armstrong Trail, the Ghost Town Trail and the Montour Trail, encircling the city of Pittsburgh.

    "Climax tunnel" at 3:10, you say "That wasn't that long?!?!?" I laughed so hard I think I peed a little!

      @ I really like your western PA trail tour idea. Hope to ride some of them in 2025

      Glad you liked it. Yeah, it was one of those super easy trips to plan and do. Just drive from trail to trail. Simple. PA is a rail trail gold mine.

    Thanks! That looks like a great trail, one that we'll hopefully be enjoying next year. While there is a Smuckers production facility in New Bethlehem, the company was founded and is headquartered in Orrville (Two R's) Ohio. 👍

      Ahh…thanks for the clarification. I’m going to need to visit Orrville someday for forgiveness. That’s two things now!!

    Another great video! Thanks Bryan! Small towns are so nice, I agree. Those tornado sirens are pretty scary! Had no clue tornados occur in PA! Now time for me to research the trail a bit more (and twin peaks!) Lol. Alex 🌪️⚡👍🏼

      Glad you enjoyed it. I still can’t believe what a wild show twin peaks was. Sort of ahead of its times for 90s tv. 😀

    I'm gonna get some "rolling through crushed stone audio" for you the next time I find myself on it.

    I think I paddled that creek in a kayak.

      @@dgrombach1 oh, ok. Well…it’s a beautiful area. I still never found out what sort of pines those were. I hope to go back there this year.

    Thanks for all the fun videos. Do you have any suggestions for durable gravel tires?

    • @RideAlongAdventures
      @RideAlongAdventures  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey, you’re welcome. I’ll be honest that I don’t know squat about tires. I started with the standard Bontrager gravel tires (GR1…something). Then some Pirelli Cinturato tires. Now I’m on Panaracer Gravel King tires. The second two were/are tubeless. I’m terms of durability, yeah, that’s sort of a mystery because 1500-2000 miles doesn’t seem like much. And the tubeless thing is still a mystery to me. I had four plugs in my rear tire after about 800 miles and the bike shop was like, “yeah, this tire is destroyed” so I replaced them. I need to do some reading on this. If you discover anything, please let me know.

    Another great video! I loved the turntable! Thanks for risking life and limb to give your viewers a glimpse of a largely forgotten piece of American History.

      Lol. Glad you enjoyed it. It really is amazing how much history is sitting right there to take in. And the older I get the more I seem to be drawn to signs and plaques. 😄

      Yeah, I really want to go back and do the whole thing. The western end in particular was really beautiful.

    Bryan,
    Did you see the rusty boots on that jackrabbit? You don't want him jumping on you.🤔😳🤯💨
    Yeah, I really liked the feel of this trail as well. There were parts that reminded me of the Pine Creek Trail, at the end of it, before you turned around to go back... from last falls video.
    Pennsylvania has some really lovely scenery and backwoods impressions.
    There was one point in this video where the sky was showing a tornado forming. I don't think it touched down. But it seemed to be getting ready to do so.
    The sirens hadn't gone off yet, at that point.

      Yeah, the end had me ruffled a bit. The coffee shop people were sort of hunkered down in the back when I came in. 😂
      Agreed on the beauty. Really wonderful landscapes.

    That looks like a cool trail, especially with the art installations along the way. I’d never heard of it, so THANK YOU for the video!
    I’m glad you found a silver lining despite the extremely adverse weather. Warning sirens?!? YIKES!
    Here’s a question: How do you find these lesser known trails?

    • @RideAlongAdventures
      @RideAlongAdventures  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Glad you liked the video. I found most of these through TH-cam and subscriber recommendations. It’s really amazing how many are out there. PA is really unique for rail trails.

    Lightening? Don't worry about it. What's the worst that could happen? You glow in the dark afterwards.
