- Hello everyone, my name is Daniele Tartaglia and welcome back to my channel. today I build a really beautiful and very useful object: a DIY polystyrene cutting machine. I built this machine with a very professional detail and I inserted inside it a switching power supply and a step down regulator for regulating the power. Daniele, you totally amaze me with your projects that you build. Your are a very talented and creative person and I love viewing your channel. Some day when I get myself sorted with a proper work room and building area, I can knock together a few of these designs your make for myself. You are an inspiration for any would be engineer to learn from. One bit of advice for you to remember is when you go to the bathroom during filming (@ 11:38) that you pull your zipper up on your trousers, LOL.

However, the angle of cut is actually different that what you set. The axis of rotation is a bit higher than the low attachment point of the wire.

a really nice builmd, I have never seen some homemade wire cutters so well engineered. just a little thing, you let the power go through the spring, in how to mechatronics video abaout a cnc wire cutter, he did it in the first place but because of the heat, the steel changed it structure and the spring hardened becoming completely useless, you should try applying the power downstream the spring to ensure the machine's longevity

Tip to keep the wire tension. Use adjustable spring(s )because metal expands when heated.
