  • Shri Sadgurubhaktirahasya: Hey Prabhu! Hey Prabhu! - The Essence of Devotion towards a True Guru
Composed by Shrimad Rajchandraji on September 11, 1891 at Ralaj near Khambhat in Gujarat, India
    Verse 1 - English Meaning:
Oh merciful, compassionate Lord! Benefactor of the helpless and the orphans! What do I say? I am the abode of innumerable faults.
    Verse 2 - English Meaning:
I do not have pure disposition, nor do I perceive you in every situation. I do not have the gentleness or the sense of humility. Supreme Lord, what can I state?
    Verse 3 - English Meaning:
I have not firmly set at heart the precepts of Guru; nor do I have firm faith and superb regard for you.
    Verse 4 - English Meaning:
I do not have the company of saints, nor do I seek the opportunity to serve them; neither do I have the sense of total surrender, nor do I try to resort to what they stipulate.
    Verse 5 - English Meaning:
I do not have the discernment to consider what a low laid person like me can accomplish, nor do I have the lifelong patience to remain at Your Feet.
    Verse 6 - English Meaning:
I do not have the pleasurable regard for your inconceivable greatness, nor do I have a ray of affection nor am I influenced by you.
    Verse 7 - English Meaning:
I do not have inclination for realizing the everlasting soul, nor do I experience the pangs of separation. I do not even feel afflicted for missing your innate affection.
    Verse 8 - English Meaning:
I do not get on the path of devotion, nor do I have firm faith therein; I am not conscious of my true nature, nor do I abide in a pious place.
    Verse 9 - English Meaning:
Faulted under the influence of Kali, I transgress the limitations of ethics; Lord, look at my karma that I am not getting perturbed in spite of that.
    Verse 10 - English Meaning:
I do not give up the predilections that come in the way of serving; my sense organs remain uncontrolled and they indulge in craving for the external objects.
    Verse 11 - English Meaning:
I do not bemoan your separation; my speech and eye- sight remain uncontrolled; I do not remain detached from the company of non-devotees or in the worldly routine.
    Verse 12 - English Meaning:
I am not devoid of egoism, nor do I realize my true nature; I fail to retreat entirely from the extraneous aspects.
    Verse 13 - English Meaning:
I am thus devoid of the means in innumerable respects; virtueless as I am, how do I show my face?
    Verse 14 - English Meaning:
You are the compassion incarnate; savior and Lord of the helpless, I am sinner and totally helpless. Lord, please hold my hand.
    Verse 15 - English Meaning:
Oh Lord, in absence of true realization I have been roaming since the infinity; I did not serve the saintly Guru, nor did I give up the sense of wrong identification.
    Verse 16 - English Meaning:
I resorted to the innumerable means without resorting to the feet of saints; thereby I did not attain the end, nor did I gain a ray of discernment.
    Verse 17 - English Meaning:
All the means adopted by me have resulted in bondage and no alternative has been left; how can I get rid of the bondage without having the concept of right means?
    Verse 18 - English Meaning:
I did not develop the intense longing for Lord, nor did I lay prostrate at the feet of true Guru; since I cannot perceive my faults, how am I to cross over?
    Verse 19 - English Meaning:
No measure can be of any avail without realizing that I am the lowest-laid fallen individual in the entire world.
    Verse 20 - English Meaning:
Lying prostrate at your lotus-like feet I repeatedly pray for giving me the conviction that true Guru and saint are the embodiments of Yours.
    What is #Ajnabhakti?
A fundamental and important part of a seeker's spiritual practices is bhakti. One of the most essential components is Ajnabhakti, that is, a sequence of prayers ordained by the Guru, to be performed every day with great devotion. The noble intention of Ajnabhakti is to start each day of this priceless human life attained by the Lord’s grace, through connection with Him, extolling His virtues and conclude the day too with the memory of the boundless blessings bestowed by Him along with a sense of deep surrender. This facilitates an increase in one’s level of purity through the day and lifetime. This connection with the Lord and Guru ultimately culminates in connection with one’s Self.
Abiding by the beneficial commands given by #PujyaGurudevshri, seekers of Shrimad Rajchandra Mission #Dharampur across the globe follow a series of prayers daily, in the morning and evening.
