- asimplyfab.life/ We spent a fabulous ten days aboard a Beneteau Oceanis 38.1 on the Dalmation Coast of Croatia. We picked up the boat from Euronautic yacht charter in Biograd and followed a route looping south to the inland lake and the town of Skradin, then headed for the Kornati islands and further up towards Telascica.
We had a fantastic time exploring the incredible clear blue sea, good weather (apart from some epic showers) and lovely, open, unspoilt islands with plenty of anchorages and not too many boats about. Perfect for relaxing and absorbing the natural environment.
I would recommend September because it is still warm and it is just after the busy tourist season so offers more possibilities if you're looking for a quiet anchorage. Definitely worth a visit on a self-charter yacht.

Nice 👍👍 Did you charter the boat with the other couple or were they the live aboard crew ?? The water looked lovely and clean with very little pollution....is that typical of the region ??

The water was pretty clean. There was a fair amount of plastic pollution, which we tried to pick up where possible. What got me more, were the toilet trails in the water 💩I know that’s at least degradable - but still 🤢 there has to be a better way 🤔
A Simply Fab Life cool. I spent 20 years racing on the south coast when I lived down there. All the big regattas like cowes week, Antigua, cork in Ireland. Did the Fastnet race in 1993. My dad used to have a boat when we were growing up and my bros is still racing and involved in the boat building business so very much in the blood but never cruised !! I was mast and foredeck man on sigma 33's/ 362/ 38's and and Oyster 36 which survived the 79 Fastnet race !! Watching you video and kept hearing myself say "trim that jib/ crank in the main and get that boat flying" !!! Furling jib and main is the way to go for short hand sailing 👍👍 Yeah...not much you can do with the heads but pump away. I'm not sure if some boats have tanks to hold waste water...you could use it as moveable ballast I suppose !!! Lol

@@Simonandisla Simon's Defender 90 Wow! Super cool expériences on the regattas 😎🤘⛵. We had the pleasure of viewing the St Tropez regattas from the water - the J-class are something else 👌! (We have some footage in our Sailing playlist) Vic and I used to sail a Hobie while we were still in South Africa and I did some cat sailing down near Toulon (when we had time) but this was a new expérience for us on a bigger boat. As a bonus on the last day the wind picked up to 13 knots and we got her up to 7 knots ! Maybe not Cowes week winning but exhilirating !
