Chuck is right about Embiid needing to be in Shape. Whenever Zion gets injured it’s always about his weight and Joel is also near 300 pounds running up and down and no one ever brings that up.
@@zureai If he weighed as much as he did when he was first coming into the league it would benefit him more. If he got down to 260-250 it would help him move fast and be more explosive. He doesn’t need to weigh 280.
its deserved tho Philly invested everything theyve been saving into this team. It won't kill the team but it will make slumps a lot worse. Similar to clippers last year when they started off bad the conclusions that were being made were fucking insane (ex: that one rant that went viral about how harden is not the system)
@@Nikketmzee yeah obviously we gotta see how the chemistry goes & everything. But you’re right about the injuries it stinks, but in all honesty I’m basing my opinion more off of a great looking bench & maxey continuing to improve!
My honest opinion is that the closest they had to going to the ECF was in 2023 vs Boston. No reason they should have lost that series when they were up, 2021 with the infamous Ben Simmons choke and 2019 with the Kawhi game winner. Them going to the finals in the situation is pretty slim. When it comes to winning it all just like Allen Iverson the 76ers have wasted Embiids prime. Having Al Horford, Embiid, and Simmons??? Who’s gonna win anything with three centers and one that’s basically an offensive liability. Then you have Harden who will give you 45 one game and then 11 and 20 turnovers the next game one of the most inconsistent players ever and lazy. Granted the Celtics series in 2023 is no excuse to lose when you’re up and drop two games in a row. 2021 Ben Simmons being a liability on offense not shooting and not having and legitimate firepower on the perimeter as Tobias Harris is one of the biggest sellouts I’ve ever seen. This past season Embiid shouldn’t have came back. He should have just recovered and got back into shape and lost weight. He had his best statistical post season in his career averaging 34 and 11 against New York, Maxey did his thing and that was really about it. Tobias had one good game and was nowhere to be found for the rest of the series. The same with Kyle Lowry and we just couldn’t keep up with the offensive explosion from Divencenzo, and Josh Hart playing out of there minds. Let alone the fact that the Sixers rely entirely to much on Joel to carry the scoring load on offense and anchor on defense. It got to a point that the team would be -30+ whenever he was off the floor. This is probably the best roster he will get to be built around him. They have to do something this year.
Chuck doesn’t watch the Sixers. Joel doesn’t need the ball to be effective. His presence on the court alone on both ends especially defense is game-changing.
Embiid is injured all the time, due to this bs flopping. Charles is exactly right, Embiid is a very selfish player and with this team there is no need to be. Dominate when need to; but to trust in "this new team."
Two weeks later Guerschon Yabusele enters the chat 😏. One position on the 76er's they were light & a great way to fill out the roster (taking Chuck's old job 😁). Coming back to the NBA on a minimum contract a lot less pressure than 1st round draft pick coming into the league for the first time (but may end up a starter if play during the Olympics is any indication 😚). The Sixers seem to really have a great roster but obvious challenge will be to get all the pieces to work together (especially for our host here)! Best wishes to Paul! Philly can be a tough crowd & press brutal (thrill of victory & agony reading about it the next day.. 🙄) but love those who give their all 😘Charles knows. - tc! PS - Speaking (up) from a player safety standpoint NBA teams need to keep the side-shows off the court (as a fan going to a game - not what I want to see anyway..). Why, because NBA players running up down the court sweat a lot. So do dance teams on commercial breaks (a time when the court should be mopped up - especially around the basket). Teams & the arenas they play in need to do a better job keeping their (multi-million dollar) players safe. Seen too many players get hurt (including Joel..) from something easily preventable, slipping on a wet court.
Philly gives us that Doc Rivers Clippers vibe. Hope PG can add to this team. They've been underachieving for years and the window is closing. Boston still is the CLEAR favorite.

@podcastp Paul George please read!!!! I’ve been a sixers fan since AI (I’m in my thirties). Please please please, embiid is not a closer and he is the harden of big men.
