- Nurses are trained to compartmentalize their personal from their professional lives. Pediatric ICU nurse Hui-wen Sato challenges this notion. By bringing her full experience as a nurse, mother and patient into the room, she creates compassionate spaces of healing for her pediatric patients, their families, and herself. Hui-wen Sato, RN, MSN, MPH, CCRN

As a training funeral director, this video needs national attention. This is such an important topic.
So true about those put on performances. They are not helping. I have to admit, I was one who formerly used performance as a shield against my own pain. But it did not work. I spent 18 years as a nurse, most in ICU for adults. I found out I was not up to pediatric nursing right off the bat as it was my second rotation. And now I have a grandson who has a congenital condition which makes him very, very vulnerable. I am so grateful to have him in my life.

Was this talk at the same event as Nurse Hatley was speaking, like a convention on death care?
Yes, this talk was at End Well 2023, the same event that Hadley spoke at.
This is so sad
