This woman is one of the most blessed human beings I have ever listened and watched to in my entire life! You are amazing, I wish I lived in the US to have you by my deathbed hahaha
Thank you so much for this video ❤ I’m considering taking an end-of-life care/death doula class. I finally feel like I found a career. I’m so done being a chef.
Sending love it sounds beautiful. I have been in hospitality for nearly 2 decades . One of the spiritual life coaches I know just became a death doula after a lot of shadow work . 🙏🕊️🤍I hope you find your true soul purpose .
So great to hear your backstory to your truly inspiring work. Have been a hospice volunteer for eight years now and so committed to raising people‘s awareness to embrace death. Happy to be finding like minded spirits.
Alua! I am beyond inspired by the work that you do and plan to one day take your course. Thank you for helping me realize how I want to participate in this life. I lost my Mother when I was seventeen years old, and before that lost a lot of other older family members. The death as you can imagine, to a seventeen year old, was painfully confusing. However, it has been such an informative experience I carry with me everyday. My mother was geriatric nurse professor and one of the first teaching nurses to discuss alternative wellness (like reiki, yoga and energy work) in the university setting. I feel I am carrying this baton to live a life that carries on that legacy of holistic health care. Currently I am finishing up a certification as "Holistic Health Practitioner," which means I have a lot of hands on body and energy work modalities under my belt to be of service, I also can teach qi gong, therapeutic yoga, and am a singer songwriter hope to weave that into helping people create a legacy song. I want my skillsets to help others be at their best during and after experiencing death. Thank you for what you do! This is my first post on TH-cam as well. I have a feeling I'll meet you in person one day. So much love and light.
God Bless you. Your amazing and I’m sorry for the lost of your mother and other family members. I pray for continued comfort and strength for you ❤️🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽❤️
It’s a given that she has immense wit, but I love her fire and joy and freedom and that most probably stems from the fact that she welcomes death so completely as a part of life.
Being a Death Doula is something I am DEEPLY drawn to and passionate about, but have no idea where to start. I have seen multiple family members thru death and find that I am unusually comfortable surround by and in discussion about the topic. If there is a mentor out there willing to take a chance on me, please reach out!
I am feeling the same.....there is lady somewhere above you in the comments who said she is in the middle of taking Alua's Dula training.....pop her a messge or google Alua Arthur ....good luck my lovely
Tears of gratitude. This is beautiful and powerful. I wish Alua Arthur and her loved ones long, healthy, fulfilling lives and an awareness of being deeply loved. 🙌🏿❤.🇬🇭 is proud of you. Thanks for your work.
Yes! Absolutely love this! Hearing her talk about how emotional and empathic she is by nature, makes me feel validated...maybe my own emotional, deep-feeling nature ( and anyone's for that matter) can be directed into this line of work. God bless you, Alua💖
This is an amazing video! Thank you so very much for your words, and for what you do! I found you on an old Ask A Mortician video, and with some hunting around, I found your channel! I had been binge-watching her videos, but now I'm here, too - and will likely binge-watch what you've got available, too! Your job, your life's work, is so wonderful - thank you for all that you do!
Thank youuuu Alua! You are fantastic and I love your pqssion and spirit. I would love to have your lovely grace by my side to feel blessed at my passing. Thank you for finding your new passion and doing something so truly important for souls. Love you girl!!
I could of listened to this woman for ever.....captivated me from the start....if I had my time over again I would do something similar....Ive held someones hand as they took their last breath and it moved me in a way that I cant explain or ever forget....I felt deeply privileged to have been a part of this dear lady's passing. Ive also handled and done the immediate care for people that have passed.....again....feeling immense privilege to do what ever I was doing for them. im writing this and wondering ......is 53 to late to do this???....is it.....?
It isn't too late. I'm 56, and I'm going to start doing it for others. I've done it for my dad and my partner's mom. It really is a calling. I've also done professional cuddling. They are very similar, in a way. They are both "taboo" because people don't really understand them well. They are both about holding space and just being there in someone's time of need. They are both very spiritual. In a world where we are separated from our humanity at every turn, those of us who remember how to connect to ourselves and others have to pick up the flag and lead the way back to our hearts. Follow that voice. You're not going to regret it.
@@d-elf5313 professional cuddler... tell me more .. and I'm being serious... so many questions.... where .. how... cost of any .... rules.... see told you 😂😂😂
Absolutely powerful. Thank you so much for your wonderful talk. (And I hope you love Rum Chata!!! ( I know I do!) I have seen many of my relatives die. I now am able to view their bodies, even comb their hair. We do not embalm in my family. We go into refrigeration, and then have a service with the casket open or closed as to the deceased wishes. I have my burial plot with my husband. I know I would like to receive Last Rites, and be surrounded by only a few people. Of course, a catastrophic death would be instant, and I might not get my wishes. Your talk, however, has compelled me to take another glance at my ideas. You are SO articulate, funny, and informed about so much. I am very glad I clicked on your channel. Maybe it was predestined?!
So…. I’ve noticed I tune into energy that is ending and beginning. My grandmother finally passed away the day I told her to. I need to use my awareness in a focused way… where do I do this? How?

It's amazing how she found out all her skills pointed her to this exact direction without her even knowing. Blessed soul.
she was destined to do this and train others
I love this woman. She is one of the inspirations that drove me to train as an end of life doula.
Me too! I now work in hospice because of this woman. I love the work that I do and hope to become a death doula someday. Sending love ❤️
I am a stage 4 Burkitt Lymphoma survivor. Thank you for giving voice to a beautiful calling, Alua
