Pues eso se sigue recordando 66 años después! Inolvidable suceso!
They chose to regurgitate the most insulting version of that fateful night. Callas was just diva throwing a tantrum because of bad audience response. That she was actually physically incapable of continuing because of illness has been well established. Indeed, she won a court case vindicating her. Strange, the only reason this architectural feature has any interest is because of who she was and is. Yet, all except her is treated with respect. So long after all the hullaballoo she is still unjustly maligned as if they still take exception to the Exceptional nature of the Callas Phenomenon. How disappointingly petty.
the documentary doesn't aim to pass judgment. It seeks to recount a historical episode through a number of sources (which, as all sources, are never objective!), to reflect critically on society, the opera audience and its reactions and discourses, and explore the reasons-architectural ones included-behind the creation of what later became known as the "Callas passage." This is not a "trial against Callas": nor a hagiography, nor an act of accusation. Viewing it solely through such a lens mirrors the same mindset as the detractors who criticized her on January 2, 1958. Perhaps it’s time to move beyond that, don’t you think?
@@1Musicalia Nice try. This was a typical misogynistic presentation literally using the vicious commentary of the time that presented her in the worst light. Where in this do you present her perspective or one that give a balanced view? This incident did her enormous damage and contributed decisively to her destruction undermining her confidence at a time when she was experiencing a vocal crisis. It was precisely this kind of thing that eventually broke her. Shame on you.
@@shaundudley4576 Unfortunately, it seems you may not fully understand that this documentary is NOT about the Callas case itself. Instead, it focuses on the “Callas passage,” exploring the reasons behind its name, its architectural history, and the myths surrounding it. These myths, like all myths, are discursive constructs-assuming you’re familiar with what these are and how they should be critically interpreted. That said, while I completely disagree with your points, I still appreciate you taking the time to watch this video and share your thoughts.
