I would just like to express my utmost gratitude towards you doing this. This is by far the superior, in terms of both quality and quantity, of all amateur HLP recordings I've come accross thus far. Truly awesome work.
I remember hearing this awhile ago, for an amateur production it is damn good, you have an ideal voice for these stories, greatly enjoyed and greatly appreciated!
What I do, I open up the text for the story at hplovecraft.com and then play the youtube audio read by Nick Gisburne, and follow along. That combo makes it even more awesome.
Dagon was one of the earliest ones I recorded. It should come up if you search on TH-cam for this: Dagon Gisburne. Or use the HP Lovecraft playlist I've set up - look near the end of the list. My reading has improved over time so it's perhaps not one of my best, but I hope you like it anyway.
The Entities of the Cthulhu mythos do not conform to our understanding of "Power", if you dont understand that, then you are missing the point. That being said, Azathoth is easily the entity that has the most "Influence" on our reality, as our universe and everything in it, from the biggest clusters of matter imaginable right down to the tiniest atom, exists in its dreams, as Azathoth slumbers, kept asleep by the monotonous beating of maddening drums and whining flutes, and when - NOT IF - WHEN Azathoth wakes up......we dont

You know, if Barzai had just kept quiet when he saw the gods dancing instead of _screaming as loud as possible_ he wouldn't have met the awful fate he almost certainly did. Talk about hubris.
How did Lovecraft know about UFO ?!? And anti-gravity field ?!? Something up with his tales ,is like someone or something told him about UFO .. weird indeed.
Scotchtoberfest Jesus that is dumb.. I am just now reading and learning about the mythos of this stranger man.. The thought of Elder/Older god's,who care nothing about humanity;indeed, we are just an offshoot of their very own creation, is a very refreshing take on reality these days.
@annetteromer Heretic! Blasphemer! May the tentacles of Great Cthulhu seek out your eyeballs and do that slimy, sucky thing that we daren't talk about in public.
happy to see someone using the talent they have appropriately. reading stuff like this should be mandatory for people with awesome voices.
I recorded this at about 4 in the morning so I don't know what the neighbours thought was happening towards the end when I started shouting :o)

Great job Gisburne. You bring Lovecraft to life.
I love coming back to these short stories. Your voice is perfect for Lovecraft's stories.
I did a few things on Librivox, but most of what I record is on TH-cam. Thanks for listening!
10:16 "Cannot be unseen!"
Somewhere H.P. Lovecraft is laughing!

Ulthar… the place where no man may kill a cat!
No Chinese, Koreans, etc. allowed. Ulthar is "Asiaphobic"(?).
This is great! I have it here in my collection of short stories. Thanks Lovecraft
I'm really new to Lovecraft, this is great work ((:
@DeusMortemEst Thanks for the compliment - more recordings will follow!

Amazing work!
I am really enjoying these readings. Perfect voice. Any other work I can check out beyond You-Tube?
Your voice is perfectly suitable for Lovecraft. Will check out anything else you might have done.
What books does it talk about the most powerful gods in the lovecraft mythos?
Shadow Out of Time covers a lot of the mythos hostory

@24fRaMeSps001 There may also be universes where nobody believes in the existence of other universes.
wow...that was awe inspiring
Wow, I love your voice... *_*
Lovecraft loved his black cat (nigerman) so much that he put cats in many of his stories.
Nathan Brooks tisk...tisk.... you mean man now-a-days, right? :)
Lol oh right, I stand corrected :)
@blacksdocrack When the Old Ones speak, 'tis only a fool who would take no heed of such a calling!
Yog Sothoth's sister Sissy can do all that AND play bluegrass banjo.
You sound like a young Cristopher Lee :3
