- Many of you may know I strongly dislike Gaijin only adding top tier stuff and ignoring World War 2 era tech, and many of you that watch the channel tend to be those who agree. Welp, this new update looks utterly atrocious and I couldn't ignore it.

Oh boy just another update where they succeed to milk the player base.
Someone gotta tell me why to play germany now like 4 real whats the purpose ? sweden gets more and better leopards and now france even gets leopards and if thats not enough they even get F-16s... italy also gets germanys modern IFVs and possibly even further advanced ones while germany gets nothing of this... im so glad i stopped playing germany years ago when the KPz70 came out.
Still trying to understand what helis are better in Heliborne. Thanks for your videos on that game. Talking about adding new vehicles, add Mig-25 for USSR and add Valkirie for USA. They can be in event like "Fire And Water" or "Arrows vs Arrows"
F-4F ICE is is the the German Phantom with a better radar and AMRAAMs.
Desert Warrior is the FV510 but with a 25mm Bushmaster and TOW missile launchers. It's the export version for Kuwait.
VLT 2 is a French torpedo boat, meaning that for both people who play naval, French coastal fleet is coming.

F4F ICE is the only plane germany gets with AMRAAM capability before the Typhoon.
Proposal for Germany:
1. Things that could be added to Germany: Panzerhaubitze 2000, Skyranger 30, Spähpanzer Luchs, Eurofighter prototype, MBB Lampyridae
2. Austrian ground sub-tree for Germany: Pandur 1 & 2 variants, including the Pandur 2 105mm, the ASCOD variants, with 30mm gun and guided missiles, or just a 40mm, 4K-7FA variants, SK 105 A1, A2, and A3 variants, Pinzgauer Mistral, Pinzgauer 106mm, Noricum SM-4, as well as some Swiss MOWAG variants Austria bought.
For low-tier, we have: Steyr Prototyp, Steyr ADGZ,
Austrian air tree for Germany: Saab 35 Draken, Saab 105Ö, Saab 29 Tunnan, De Havilland Vampire, De Havilland Venom, and a Swiss Pilatus PC-7.
3. Swiss ground tree for Germany: Various Swiss vehicles, plenty of light tanks, too long to write here.
Swiss air sub-tree: Swiss F/A-18 Hornet (Which Germany desperately needs), Pilatus PC-7 (also owned by Austria), BAe Hawk, Milan, F-5, Mirage III, FFA P-16, DOFLUG D803 and D802, Venom, Vampire, Mosquito, EKW planes.
There is genuinely a gigantic list of interesting designs and vehicles, both from ww2 and more modern vehicles that gaijin can add, and all they add is a bunch of extra T-80 copy pastes and Leopard 2 copies. I dont know why they would add this kind of shit and it is genuinely dissapointing as hell to see this. Not only will top tier air rb be nuked with the next update, we will also not get any interesting vehicles at all
Because they're saving it to add later to keep the game and your interest in the game alive as long as possible. I'm not saying I agree with how they're doing it or that it's the best option, but it's pretty clear to see that. Advance the trees all the way to the most modern stuff, then go back and add interesting vehicles and fill the trees out more.
The ONE good thing I see coming from the way that they're doing it, however unlikely to happen, is that once they're done adding modern vehicles and their mechanics, they *can* (key word being CAN) actually properly fix the game. Proper decompression and economy, ect, because now they have something close/closer to a finished product and can finally give it that really good polish over, which includes adding all the cool unique stuff they missed.
This way, while the game is shit at its core, you're distracted by the cool new modern stuff most people want, and once that runs out they can extend the game life even further with the other cool and unique stuff they missed and quality of life updates.
They have actually done this before, just look at how WT used to be in like 2016. They didn't want to push any farther past about Korean war era vehicles, and when that happened they DID for once actually start making QoL updates and fixing the bugs and the economy. Then they started adding stuff again and QoL stuff basically went out the window. Once they hit another wall they'll finally slow down again.
And then the game will die because they want to expand again and they repeat the process. Except now they'll be adding shit that doesn't exist and spend so much time on ideas that QoL and everything else will, once again, go right back out the window it just crawled back in.
I don't agree with it, but I see what they're doing and why they're doing it.
Sorry but tell me how top tier air is going to be nuked? You mean adding missiles for other nations that will be able to compete against the ER and the match size reduction they announced!
Hear me out. AVRE shouldn't be an event vehicle. It should be available for GE or in Techtree to match the Germans and Russians. Hopefully, they will give the American tree an armored derp gun soon.

Depends on which Churchill AVRE it is. The WW2 version with the petard mortar really has to be an event vehicle. With its "flying dustbin" projectile having enough HE to overpressure a Panther but having a maximum range of only 100 meters, it's just too weird to be a tech tree tank.
But the postwar FV3903 with the BL 6.5" Mk I gun (an early version of the L9A1 used by the Centurion AVRE)? That could very much work as a tech tree derp tank.

The Desert Warrior is basically a warrior with a 25mm gun and TOW missiles, its like a cross between a Bradley and Warrior, it should be quite good
Im so hyped for it. Good thermals and TOW-2s so I can run it in my 10.3 lineup is my hope.
I think that there should be a commonwealth tree where we can get Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and India.

New Zealand has next to nothing, Australia has very little, Canada has a handful of stuff and India has a good amount but alot of it is modern vehicles.

Every update is now just an absolute hell hole, Copy paste vehicles, Spammed premium vehicles and not very interesting Top tier planes. I was one of the many who were hyped for the FA/18 and others but it looks like America just gets shit on once again.
F18 would have totally broken the br, the only good thing about this update is that they DIDN’T add it

It's hilarious that neither of you really know about the F-18 or its variants and that it's so easy to tell.
The 18A wouldn't have broken the BR at all with only two 9M's and six 7M's.
And the 18 is in absolutely no way a rate fighter, or anything like the Gripen. The only similarity between them is the fact that the Gripen C uses the engine from the 18C, and the Gripen E uses the 18E engine. That's as close as you'll get.

Each update is now like this, about 3 more or less interesting WW2 vehicles and the rest is high tier, mostly copy&paste.
I was really hoping for a Benelux tech tree, so they'd have to create more fun low tier stuff.
They've barely even begun devblogs (at least as of your comment 4 days ago) and you're already discounting shit being added? @@Redfire1109 Issue with a lot of WW2 tanks is unlike real life they don't suffer mechanical faults. The Tiger 2 in real life was a menace but it was also garbage and barely worked, if it was realistic tanks like that should break down in spawn

I understand and completely know why the Mig21 Bison is being added to the British tech tree but i am fuming mad that an upgraded version of any vehicle is in any tree other than the one that created it. for years I've been upset by Germany getting most of the soviet equipment and china getting everything sucks as well and now we have Britain as well. can we speed this along and just remove the tech trees at this point just have one massive research tree with every vehicle from every nation since country of manufacture doesn't mean anything anymore I understand the reasoning behind this but nevertheless it pisses me off. east Germany and china are fine i guess they wouldn't have tech trees without soviet equipment but seriously the mig21 doesn't fill a niche in the British tech tree and if it has to be added then add the prototype to the soviet tree at least make it fair to the country that actually designed and built the airframe.
At the same time though. The manufacturers of the mig-21-93 bison are India, not russia. Hence why it’s in the indian sub-tree for Britain. Complaining about it is like complaining about the F-4F ICE being in the german tree

The Atlas Cheetah would be a great South African jet to add to the British line, it was a uniquely built jet taking aspects from other aircraft from Israel and South Africa's aging air force at the time. Honestly my patriotism lies in this jet... hoping it will come someday... so I can get it to complete my South African lineup

Tbh I’ve played this game since early 2015 on PS4 and now PS5. For all those years this has been the sole game which I’ve played the most and enjoy the most and I’ve seen the change from early days until now. There has been very few times in the game I have not been happy and I genuinely believe that War Thunder is in an amazing time right now. All of the advancements in top tier aircraft and ground vehicles has lead you War Thunder being a massively played game with each day averaging around 100k and weekends and other days upwards of 200k at any one time! I remember the fun I used to have at low tier in grinding through the British and German air tree in 2015-16 but times change and the thing which keeps me coming back is the constant change to the games vehicles and all of the new features like BVM and radar and such. I’m fortunate to have every nation in the game top tier in ground and aircraft so can get all of the new vehicles which I think the reason most people get annoyed is because they can’t get any of them. The grind is really so much easier from when I was mainly playing the game like 2016-2019. I do genuinely love seeing all these new jets and tanks as I play all tiers and even though I mostly play old premiums now at 6.0 and other BRs I will always grind the new jets and tanks out and spade them and have a good time playing them, but that is because I do genuinely find modern aircraft and ground vehicles interesting. I think it’s a very good direction of the game and the majority of low tier and WW2 vehicles are coming in battlepasses or events with still some coming in updates so it’s really adding all kinds of vehicles for people and players. I understand you’re frustration with not liking top tier but this is genuinely exciting for a massive amount of players including myself and for all the people saying it’s only new players who like the modern stuff, I’m proof that this is not true. Something like 7000 hours plus in this game and I still massively enjoy it and think it has only gotten better over the past few years especially. If the game remained to only be mainly WW2 and a few Cold War it would have been dead by 2019. The addition of modern vehicles had not only kept this game alive but has revived it and made it a massively popular game to play and one which is known by most people. When I used to say I played War Thunder to people on other games, they would have literally no idea at all. Now it is something nearly all people who know at least something about games know and understand what it is about. That is why these vehicles if you like them or not should be respected as it is keeping this game alive and popular which means more funding and time spent developing it.

0:58 tell me you don't fly out in top tier without telling me, yes you're right it has issues, however its not 'largely beyond visual range' That could not be further from the truth, most engagements happen within visual range and are ended by one or both parties getting an IRCCM missile firmly lodged up their arse. @@ilikechicken5524 I don't play naval only because the gameplay is awful, which could mostly be fixed, and because the game lacks interesting ships. I might be wrong, but I think if there was more focus on it, it would get players anyways.
World of Warships, even though not as popular as WoT, doesn't lack players (the waiting time for games is long, but the community is alive is what I mean). So while I agree that the issues should be number 1 priority, focusing on naval when there is nothing left to add to the other modes does not sound like a bad idea.
So how exactly does giving modern aircrafts the missiles they should've already had a bad thing? Also how do they "move like ufo's"? Do you know how to fight in a top tier jet? Like in sim? Do you know rate fighting? Do you know the difference of 1 circle to 2 circle? Why are you looking at updates in WT if all you want is to stick down tier in WW2-Cold War? You already have a lot of the things you hsould have in those tiers? Why are yiu complaining?
The F4-F Phantom II ICE means Improved Combat Efficiency, which comes with a better radar and AMRAAMs, which was nothing but a placeholder while the delays for the Typhoon were imminent.
still better than another sherman or pershing model, ww2 range already has all relevant tanks and planes. everyone anyway plays toptier aside from potato computers and skill issue/old people
They can rather go and upgate some vehicle models or fix some tech trees with this update. Thats how boring it is.

Like the AVRE would be a odd choice considering how long you would grind for such a vehicle and it being like rank 3 probably.
The F4F ICE depending on the weapons would be pretty broken close range (IRIST 45km range) but its probably not going to get that stuff.
The F-4F ICE will definitely get AMRAAM, that's the sole purpose for adding it. IRIS-T would be busted, though. Even on a platform as bad as the F-4F.

War thunder should have stuck to prey ww2 to just after after post ww2. There are so many vehicles in that time frame not added.
I kinda like the APCs. It’s very fun to bring to top tier and play a supporting role. Scouting and repairing provides massive help for your team since it seems like most top tier games are now just meta MBTs rushing in and dying
I am glad that I got to stop playing WT for a while. Top tier is no fun and high tier isn't that fun either anymore. Ships is just spawn and get shot at the moment you exist anyways and no one plays PT boats.
For every update I hope to get something off-meta thats special, also the south african SPAA...I would have expected it to come for a while now after the Pantsir became a thing but well. Sim top tier ground is unplayable for Nato basically because Russia just has helis and long range Air to ground missiles while having the best SPAA so you can't attack either with high risks so yeah

I'm not that miffed about getting another Canadian Leopard, at least it'll be cheaper than the one on the Gaijin market but there can be so much more stuff for Canada.
If any more Canuck vehicles are added I wouldn't mind them being a US subtree to span the WW2 era, UK already has Africa and a lot of low tier ground vehicles as is.
Also fun fact! The M4A5 ingame should actually be the Ram I, the US tested the Ram I, not the Ram II. M4A5 being the paper name actually given to the Ram I

I have unlocked Leo1a5 and stopped playing since at 9.3 you will get graped by 10.0-10.3 every single match. How fun is that...
Kinda curious about how it took you so long to make it to the Leo 1. I do not mean to sound rude here but I'm just curious about your strategy.

I suggested that they add the J-10 which is definitely not a copy paste for china, but they are rejecting all my suggestions for some reason (won't actually get approved to get posted). They have apparently made some aircraft names prohibited to be used as tags too (if you try to put xf5u as a tag, it will say it is not allowed to be used as a tag). They also rejected (did not approve the post) some stuff i suggested for changes to the Merkava.
T-80UE-1 is a T-80UD turret with the T-80BV hull with some improvements to bring the hull to the T-80U level, as Kontakt-5 ERA as an example. Some other differences include, the UE-1 does have different technology than other T-80 variants. The UE-1 has the “Plisa” infared sight and the cannon has been improved to the 2A46M-4, over the M-1. The UE-1’s loading mechanism was also enhanced to support newer ordnance, including more high-penetration tungsten alloy rounds and new configurable fuses from the “Aynet” system used for explosive shells. This is not to be confused with the failed export variant the T-80UE.
Apparently, it's appropriate for France to get Dutch Leopards, all while the two countries are and have been entirely separate and independent from one another. However, it's too much to ask for Britain to get the Canadian leopard; since Canada is an Anglophone nation, founded by Britain, and remains in the Commonwealth.

Tanks and planes for this update not much exciting I guess because some of copy and paste
J-11A one is kinda wrong, although the J-11 (one currently in game) IS a Copy paste of the Su-27S, the J-11A was an attempt to step away from the licensed production of the Su-27, in other words, it was a work from the Chinese to make the J-11A look more Chinese than Russian, it would also get access to modern Chinese missiles and whatnot (instead of the J-11 currently has going for it).
i looked it up the vlt2 is a french post war torpedo boat with 2 1200HP engines and will carry 2 550mm torpedoes.
As a Canadian I am extremely excited about the Leppard that will be added.
Imagine getting an update with stuff that I can actually research and play, that are unique and interesting. Instead we get more stuff at the end of tech trees that i will never touche for months if not years.
Boring, full of pasta meant to increase the grind while important features are nowhere to be seen. 99% of that should be foldered.

i don't think this list is complete (at the very least i really don't hope it is), with the BeNeLux sub-tree coming to france i do think they will add more low and mid tier vehicles and not just a couple of high-tier things since that's not a sub-tree at all.. i really hope it'll be more like the hungary or finnish trees, an entire line from 1.0 to high tier
As someone who literally has top teir even I think the new stuff is stupid, the obsession with more and more modern vehicles has caused top teir to be incredibly sparse and the entire br system to be ruined by vehicles that are generations apart
I wouldn’t really mind the autocannon vehicles if they didn’t just completely blind you with smoke from the shells. Plus console players can’t turn this smoke ‘feature’ off
If the next next update was just a giant QOL overhaul with barely any vehicles added I think we wouldn’t mind

Agree with what you said, but I really like SA and Indian aircraft in UK tech tree and hopefully they add more unique Indian planes soon and we already have Boomerang in UK tech tree
They still haven't added the Panzer 2 Luchs, if they're sticking to the "add more autocannon" idea, they should add that. The addition of more premium leopards and T-80s isnt necessary. The T-80UE1 will become the new TURMS but at top tier, meaning all the new players who bought the TURMS and T-80UD are now going to be causing hell to the 11.3 Russian win rate, not just the 10.0 one. Russia at 10.0 is unplayable as is because of 1 death leavers and really bad teammates, meaning the win rate is absolute dogshit, meanwhile, at 11.3-11.7 Russia, the win rate is better and actually playable. Iam so disapointed of benelux being in france instead of germany bc we as dutchies work all the time with germany on military stuff
hopefully they added more Netherlands WWII aircraft like Fokker D.XXI, Fokker D.XXIII, Koolhoven F.K.58, and some bombers like Fokker T.IX..
seems like they mostly looking for more Cold War vehicles which is a great find and a great trend for new players who are modern military vehicle enthusiasts...
i hate how gaijin makes all the non modern vehicles jsut event- or battle pass vehicles instead of adding them to the tech trees
Dunno why the hate, I personally really love BVR fights. The multipathing is what makes ARB bad, along with everyone being pushed into the middle.
Multipathing is way too strong, rendering almost anyone immune to SARH by just flying low is what makes ARB boring.
Everyone pushed into the middle is what makes the game a dumpster fire.
For me at least, I'll split why I hate top tier into 2 parts:
1. BVR- I don't play a nation that has good BVR capabilities AND I'm not good at it. I feel like learning BVR is going to be like taking a class with how much info I need to memorize, just on a basic level, its too much to be fun (FOR ME).
2. Within Visual Range- 16v16 + the fucked spotting system basically ruins any situational awareness needed to not get slammed from nowhere. I am not the type of person to have fun looking over my shoulder because its possible that the F15 8KM away hasn't been spotted while I'm fighting someone else, or has and now I have to monitor all nearby planes, the missiles, and potentially anything unspotted too. Too many variables happening too fast, and the players are so vindictive and scummy it sucks the fun out of dogfighting (3rd Partying, TKs, enemies slamming the ground to deny kills)
Why is everyone dogging on more modern vehicles? I play the game to play the vehicles I love, which are all modern vehicles
Because it takes a very long time to get there, most are just copie-paste and it means that WW2 stuff is mostly ignored

Absolutely agree with the points made in this video. Gaijin should bring more ww2 & early cold war content into the game instead of copy-paste premiums for top tier.
I love seeing a Canadian tank but they chose the wrong tank and the wrong Tech Tree to put it in. Adding a new mig-21 is a joke because it's going to be at 11.0 having to deal with at F14th, Mig 29s and Su-27

I feel the exact same way. This update looks like my snooze button on my alarm clock. I'm just hoping some bugs are fixed for some American vehicles. The MH60L DAP A got it's guns but no gun convergence options so they are currently useless unless you like your bullets 15ft wide. Or maybe we can get our AH1Z cockpit, hud,hmd and same with the new AH1W. I'm not holding my breath

I’ve been wanting the Fokker and the Namer IFV to come into the game! Glad some things I want are coming even if they aren’t the most interesting.
Beeing Dutch im excited with the fokker, the freedom Fighter (premium argh) and the F16 as im born and raised close to an former air force base. But why in the French tech tree ! I never played any French so i have to start from scratch. Why not in the the Netherlands have a tank bataljon under German command rigit now!.

There is no logic to the Canadian additions to the game and it's really annoying. I know the standard line is "but its a leopard" when I say we belong in the British tree, but that doesn't hold up to scrutiny. If it did, the Indian Mig/T90 should be in the russian tree instead of the British. The Canadian ADATS should be in the American tree instead of the British, the Ram II should be in the British tree like the QF ram since they're Canadian designed vehicles with British guns on an identical platform. Just mix Canada into one nation, it doesnt need to be a subtree, I just want some kind of consistency ffs.

War thunder in 2013 : lets make a game where you can drive and fight in WW2 and some WW1 vehicles.
War thunder in 2024: you know that game we made for WW2 vehicles yeah that one lets stop adding vehicles from the time period that we designed the whole concept around so we can add vehicles that most players will never play that have weapons systems that destroy the concept of our game but thats fine we can keep adding more modern vehicles as premiums hell we could ad 3 different versions of the same vehicle just with the hex numbers for the camos off by one.

iirc the cockerill leopard 1 is the same turret as the Swedish event vehicle wheeled tank destroyer with the 105. from my memory its a modular turret made for countries to upgrade different older vehicles. honestly that on a leopard 1 chassis could be really fun. I'm not exactly sure where it'll sit br wise since i think it has gen 3 thermals and a very quick reload speed. so while it is a 105 it'll still do pretty well. i think it also has a pretty good turret rotation speed so it could be a really fun tank to play
i've quit the game a while ago, i got sick of all the new updates being for top tier slop, they never go back and fix anything of value, they just add junk nobody cares about

More Exited for the 29SMT getting R77s than getting a brand new Jet that will take forever to grind to only to have to research everything that the Su27 has plus newer missiles, Also I wonder if Gaijin will add the variant of the Su27SM that gets slightly increased engines since according to wiki 24 of them exist.

couple things
1. noone cares about low tier air, everyones playing mid to top tier, also thats where all the money is
2nd: the F4F ICE is an upgrade package to modernize the Germans F4F's, it gives it the same radar as the F-18 hornet and AV-8B+ and access to the AIM-120.
3rd: the 2A4M is a heavily modernized and updated 2A4, itll be similar to the 2A5 or 2PL
4th: Everything you mentioned about the Su-27SM is a massive upgrade IRL, the MFD's espically is huge, also it makes sense to add because the Su27S we currently have is unable to carry the R77
5th: i agree about the T80, there are alot of prototype cold war MBTs that they could add
6th: the MiG-21 bison going to UK makes sense seeing as India was a colony of the UK and Vijayanta came first and went to UK because its a centurion, then they want to keep all indian vehicles together, also the UK dosnt have alot at top tier compared to the UK
Also the MiG-21 bison might aswell be a completly different aircraft, its been so modernized to carry many newer missiles, basically an indian MiG-21-93

Mid, or not it still sounds fun to fly, both the F-14s are not the strongest right now (even more so with this next update), yet I do better with them then either the F-15, or the F-16. Also, the USMC flew those Harrier up until very recently, the F-35B is what replaced them.

The partial simulator game simulates modern combat to a believable amount??? WOAH!!!! Almost like modern planes don’t dogfight, and dogfighting died in Vietnam!!! It’s ALMOST as if there hasn’t been a confirmed aircraft to aircraft gun kill (the A-10s used missiles and claimed guns) since like fuckin 1974, 4 years before the F-15C came into service.
I mostly agree with everything you’ve said, but your first comment just rubs me the wrong way. Modern combat is based around missiles, radar, BVR and countermeasures. If you don’t like that…don’t play top tier? Play like 9.7, there’s still missiles but a good gun user can still win plenty of fights. It’s like going to reserve and complaining that you don’t get laser rangefinders (I know the reasons are different but it’s the same premise - going to a BR that is KNOWN for a specific playstyle, choosing to play at that BR and then complaining when you have to use the corresponding playstyle).
i understand about most of the toptier stuff being uninteresting and basically copy and paste cause frankly i am too.
but you gotta understand at the end of the day gaijin is a company that have bills to pay.
like yeah we have basically 5 unique mbt and most other toptier vehicle is either very similar or a variant of said mbt but it is those toptier vehicle that really get people to buy premium account and vehicle.

I understand that this is your opinion, but gaijin does this because the top 3 nations have the most vehicles and the small nations who didn't go all out in military spending have fewer and for their top tier it would be too advanced export tanks and eurofighters that would be powerful. I think gaijin is trying their best to add all these copy paste tanks so that way its not just for 2-3 years we get all these new unique tanks and aircraft and then for every year after that it's just copy and paste because that's all that is left considering every nation we look at are just mostly adopted exports that were configured for their nation. this is just my opinion, I don't hate the update but I am also not hyped as much as some. I used to have the same opinion as you but once I took part in that one thread where people tried to come up with "unique" tanks and aircraft... it was just 10-15 vehicles and the rest where copy and paste small upgrades of those vehicles meaning that those 10-15 vehicles would be one single major update and after that it's back to copy and paste or as I mentioned gaijin can add 2-3 unique vehicles with copy and paste in every update to "balance" it. Just some perspective.
