Great video! I like white pines! If you ever decide to grow pine nuts it’s a good idea to spread a little white pine leaf litter and soil from under white pines around the new pine nut trees, white pines have the right synergistic fungi that pine nut trees need to thrive! Klaus
What a great idea! It never occurred to me to grow them because they are not native here, but I looked them up and they are mature in about 6-10 years so definitely would make a great addition to the homestead. So glad you shared that!
Great channel . I love trees. There is a lot of uses for white pine. Around eastern Ontario we have a lot of white pine but we are loosing a lot to different diseases . The bows are also used for Christmas wreaths too. Take care

The picture of an Eastern hemlock you show at 30 seconds has non-native Hemlock woolly adeglid on it. If this is a picture of a tree on your property in The Adirondack Park you should notify NY DEC.

I got a really bad headache from drinking white pine needles tea ! My question to you is that possible I got wrong toxic pine or maybe I overdosed my tea with extra needles and it has strong overdose effect on my body thats why I got headache ? Please tell me which one is the problem ?
Wow! I have never heard of that happening but I have two thoughts as to why: 1) It may not have been a white pine. It is important to make sure you are using needles from a pine that is non toxic as some are. 2) You personally have a sort of reaction sort of like an allergy. I guess it could always have had to do with contaminants whether on the needles or the water too. Interesting though and I am glad that you shared that. Gave me something to think about! Now , what I am thinking it could be polluted tree from car exhaust because the tree I got those needles from was growing next to the car road. . 2) Also it could be pesticide on the tree maybe I don't know. I have drunk before needle tea from other white pine and it was no headache . 3) I mixed those needles with rose hips berries and maybe those berries was pesticide ? I will have to throw those rose hips away in the garbage and those strange white pine needles. I think the best way to harvest any natural goods is from the forest away from the car roads and places where it maybe pesticide !
@@generator73 All good points. Very important to be careful where you harvest from! I always see people picking dandelions by the side of the road and that is really not a good idea at all. Too bad about the rose hips though....wondering where you harvested them and if you think the pesticide would be external, internal, or both?

I really wanna know what caused me to have bad head ache . I am going to try those rose hips again just a rose hips without pine needles and see if I get headache again. If thats happens then I know its from the rose hips. If not then it maybe a needles. I personally think it maybe from the needles because when I steep them in hot water I noticed some kind of oily substance on top of the water maybe that is toxins from car exhaust . I think pesticides can not really penetrate rose hips deep inside. Beside I boil rose hips in hot water to kill any unwanted shit
