I've heard of doing planners as a way to get "passive income" but I've always been curious how it can stand out from the 10s to 100s of thousands of other planners. Best of luck with your planner sales!
I presume one can make it stand out with their art style, sense of design, practicality, etc. And I think we don't have to invest in stocking the stuff. The person buys the product, it gets printed accordingly and then sent. So low risk? I haven't tried it yet.
Hi! I made some journals first on KDP and then switched to making some coloring books a few years back, it was fun :) thinking of doing a new coloring book soon to get back into it.
@@daphnetehe I wish it was something more than a hobby but I have no following and what I earned then was very little. One sale this year (nothing new published and did no ads either). But I do see a lot of potential in this, and am working on a new coloring book to soon publish. :)
I’m torn between building up social media presence as an artist or not because of AI and algorithm ;( I like the idea of sharing but the cons are there
Of all the links you included- where is the one so I can buy your project book off of Amazon?! Lol- it seriously looks so cute! I loved the design cover and it looks like a good size. and Im really thankful for the tutorial! Ive been thinking about doing something similar- but I am thinking of some pretty customized layouts for Dungeons and Dragons campaign books. Do you find Bookbolt offers that level of layout customization?
This is exactly what I discovered and plan to make it this year :') I really would love to make something for other people and have the product real, hold it in my own hands!
Do you think this works for someone who wants to make a coloring book with my illustrations?? Like I add the linework for my doodles and the it becomes a cute coloring book?
All of this stuff applies when you are making a bound book. I am NOT going to make a bound book. I am going to make a digital book. A digital picture book. I would just have to assemble everything together in the form of a picture book on Amazon. Then, I would have to re-assemble everything in the form of a slideshow and upload that slideshow onto TH-cam. I may just charge $7.50 for the Amazon picture book. But buying the book would be 100% optional because I would also attach the TH-cam video. The video will just be me, going through the whole book and narrating everything.
You can always make your own manuscript and sell it on amazon kindle direct publishing yourself, but you wouldn't have access to the research / tools that book bolt specifically offers!
thank you for sharing your information. I plan to sell my art online but since I don't know which way should I go. Been watching so many TH-camr but still frustrated to make decision. Now I'll know what step should I take. appreciate
Should the canvas size used in procreate the same as what’s shown in the video at the start of the book designing section? I’m not very tech savvy nor well-versed yet since I just started digital art and procreate uses pixels as main indicator of the sizes
Agreed with the previous comment. Also, stating that low content books don't need a ISBN on Amazon Kindle Publishing now I think. It might change in the future I am not sure. Medium and high content need them as stated in previous, the ISBN is created automatically on KDP.
you can always make a book on your own via your own programs - I think the only thing that sets book bolt aside is it has research tools you can use to see what products will do well
People buy the KDP book through Amazon, so they collect the customer's payment, then Amazon pays you (I think about 2 months later). You get a dashboard where you can track your KDP sales and profits. So Amazon would collect and remit sales tax (because they are the seller), and you would get your Royalty Payment, which is a percentage of your list price, direct deposited to your bank.

I just did this. I put a lot of work into mine. Now time will tell. Good luck everyone.
I'd like to hear how your product does in, say, a 6 and 12 month period, good luck!
goodluck! can you please update us?
update?? plz
I hope it goes well also please update us!
Any updates?
I always forget amazon has a book print on demand service
Thank you so much! As an artist still struggling to build my own audience, this helps a lot! ❤I hope you have a good day!
I love these passive and followerless tips, please keep em coming!
Highly Agreed
Definitely the best videos
ooh eally interesting idea! Might have to look into this further 🤔

How was the earning like? Or was it just another hobby sort off a thing?

Book bolt sounds like a great way to produce content! Thanks so much Michelle for dropping such a great resource! 🔥✨

I love how transparent this video is. Highly informative and beneficial. Thank you!

Hey, I'm sure you could use any Desktop Publishing Software as well. Bookbolt seems to have better integration with Amazon that's all.
This is exactly what I discovered and plan to make it this year :') I really would love to make something for other people and have the product real, hold it in my own hands!
Can you can specialized types of binding and paper? Such as watercolor paper and the typical binding (stitched) used for sketchbooks?
Thank you for an interesting, useful, and well thought out video.
I made one a while back, but the paper was too thin for anyone to write on.. is there a way to pick the paper type?
Do you think this works for someone who wants to make a coloring book with my illustrations?? Like I add the linework for my doodles and the it becomes a cute coloring book?
Thats actually perfect! One of the categories was coloring books 🙂
@mewTripled Thank you for the info❤️
This was AWESOME. It's like entrepreneur snacks for the brain

Off topic but your bangs look so cute in this video 💗
This is a neat resource, thank you for sharing! Is there a cost to have an Amazon publisher account?
Nope! I sold succubishez with no cost. You only spend money when someone buys a book but you should be able to make a profit back!
@@mewTripled ok thank you for the response :)
Omg I'm so stupid... I thought that the prices were $89.99 for the newbie subscription and $199.99 for the pro one 😭😭😭
Can you do Colouring books?
I love you mew but im wondering how legit this venture is
its definitely not for everyone but i figured presenting options is better than no options!
That's so COOL! Thank you thank you thank you
Love this!
What if you can't afford to pay for the subscription? Are there free alternatives?

These are my opinion. There is Canva. And I think Lulu. Also Google Docs or Microsoft Word for manuscript.

Hiiii I follow you since a long time now, I’m also trying to make a living out of art so um…. Any tips? (My plan is comic creation)
Thank you! 💖
I'm feeling rich already 🙂
Thank you ma'am 🙏
Did you purchase your own isbn?
nope, it is created when you make your product. you only spend money when a sale is made, but you would make profit back

If am buyer, am not gonna buy st not interesting. There r so much lovely art products to chose
Is it the same for an only ebook/100% digital/kindle? Or is there a better tool to design the book for digital stuff?
you can always make a book on your own via your own programs - I think the only thing that sets book bolt aside is it has research tools you can use to see what products will do well
@@mewTripled oh got it! Thanks :)
Does Amazon pay for the sales tax and then it's considered royalty income?

Does bookbolt or Amazon Kindle service have any fees? Or are they free to use?
Not sure about Amazon kindle but bookbolt does have a fee.
Nice 🎉
