why the specs (power and torque) for new vios is lower than the old vios (the 2007 to 2009 versions)? does anyone know? I thought new car should have better specs?
The power and torque may also decrease because of gearbox was changed to CVT. But in terms of fuel saving, CVT is better even though its pickup less than previous

At this price segment, I don’t understand why Toyota trying to shift up market and compromise on the basic. No folding backseats? No arm rest? Hello? Why do I want ambient lighting for when there’s no arm rest for backseat passengers. Toyota really think they Mercedes with the ambient lighting smh

This definitely wouldn’t be my car of choice but I can see many people my age purchasing this as their first car, or at least considering. Vios is supposed to be a cheap reliable car that provides all the essentials, I’m not sure why they want to add stuff like “paddle shifters” and aero kits when it does jack for performance, would much rather have fold down back seats. If I wanted a fast and fun car I probably just buy the X50 at this price point
the Indonesian version, even on the top trim, had fixed rear headrest like some commercial or low cost car. Guess they're going for the gimmicky stuff and left the practicality and comfortability behind

Wish they speced the car on what a consumer needs. Yeah, it would be more boring but a much better value proposition. The digital dash does looks nice, I’ll give them that, and the infotainment looks slightly better than the god awful bezels of the infotainment on the Corolla Cross, Camry and Harrier.
Don’t buy first , Perodua Vios is coming it’s way for 20-30k cheaper. Before Toyota seconded their model for Perodua to rebadge , Toyota always raise the price to a higher level and offers very limited spec, as if Toyota is “giving up” on that model. We’ve seen it previously on the Aruz and Alza. This means Perodua Vios is on its way.
They both use Daihatsu doesn't mean they will have the same looks. Only the exoskeleton for holding the car (DNGA). Toyota won't be that dumb to make 89K car which look like bezza

But in short version: Vios has always developed separately in Thailand instead of Indonesia. This latest one, while developed with the DNGA platform, we're still not seeing a Daihatsu counterpart. Making it very unlikely (not impossible) that there will be a Perodua version of the Vios. Perodua and Daihatsu might instead develop an entirely different B-segment car that is at most a sibling of Vios. So there probably won't be a [Perodua]/Vios.

lower 1 digit only. But the car weight is also decrease over 100kg. So it propably don't have sigificant low performance or maybe same

I owned Vios NCP 150 (2015) and i think the power is better than all the existing Vios.
