That is Until they made up that whole season 2 finale plot of them needing to "Jump to the future to save universe from robotic take-over by their sentiant ship" type plot. Add in section 31 rules and you have extra rule added where no ones allowed to even mention the ship or crew again as well.

Say a story began as a college stage play, and the creators over time went on to create low-budget TV series' and then movies. Do we call them "non-canon" because they no longer look just like the stage play? No, we do not. That is basically what TOS was. Telling the right stories, but with limited means of production. If they had modern technology and a grasp of what tech advancement would look like in 50 years, you bet your ass TOS would have looked WAY different than it did in the 60s

Starships have always been slow and lumbering, relying on shields rather than maneuvering around shots. That is, until DS9 treated starships like fightercraft.
I am glad to see Starships tanking hits with their shields rather than exploding in one hit. If anything was a Star Wars battle, it was "Sacrifice of Angels" (DS9)

@@k1productions87 I don’t like Star Trek ships moving like fighters either, my point is that the ships aren’t moving at all! Look at Star Trek II or Balance of Terror for example. These both manage to have great space battles, with a decent amount of movement, without it breaking down into fighter-like combat. In First Contact, yes the ships are moving around very quickly, but when you’re in a much smaller and more maneuverable ship than the enemy, it just makes sense to do that. Here they aren’t moving, they aren’t being tactical at all, they’re just sitting there, in open space, getting shot at, from all sides.

And like that episode, they are in a specific place for a reason. Big maneuvers would not only take them away from where they were supposed to be, but also make it easier for divide and conquer. With both ships together, they can cover each other.
in fact we already saw in season 1 of Discovery, when they were maneuvering too much in battle, they weren't able to cover the Gagarin before it was destroyed.

if you were a character in universe you would only hear the sound of your bridge terminal or the ambient sound of the bridge... lol

You know what would have been a pretty cute touch? If the bridge of the _Enterprise_ had gotten all smashed up, and then she put in for repairs later, and the repair crew told Pike “Sorry captain, but we had to do so much rewiring that the bridge won’t be able to support standard instrument panels anymore. We’ll have to give you a bunch of crappy old knobs and dials instead.”
Also, how do these two ships have so many support craft between them? Did someone borrow them from _Voyager?_

The people who did this don't care. They wanted a Star Wars battle, lots of PEW PEW with a chaotic number of tiny ships and energy blasts to distract the viewers from the nonsensicalness of it all. They have no idea that Trek ships just aren't all that big, nor carry hundreds of fighters...nor do they have any interest in it.

Basically they are a Black ops part of starfleet and the federation which answer to no one and spend most of the time out of public eye and most don't even know they exist (some high ranking Admirals don't know about them). They do a range of things from creating a virus to wipe out an entire race to put people that the federation themselves could trust in power within other governments (like the romulans as an example)
What's happening in this clip is the AI called Control which Section 31 uses managed to gain its own mind and infected the members of Section 31 and turn them into nanobot machines which the individuals are effectively killed and wants data that the discovery has within its computers as seen in a flash forward, showed all organic life was exterminated I it gets said data

Why not jump discovery across the quadrant.. let control headed for them while enterprise gets to a specific location.. then jump discovery across the quadrant with plenty of time to time jump as control; has to once again race across the aLPHA quadrent to get back to discovery
