The irony of today's parliamentary session was that the speech that reverberated the most and held the most authority, truth and feeling was that by Kier Starmer, this was a speech by a true leader and someone who holds integrity and is respected by his peers, he also got the Queen's vote hence him becoming knighted.
In comparison the feeble few words which Boris uttered made him look even worse than he has done, he didn't even have the respect to make eye contact with Kier Starmer during Kier's speech.
Unfortunately there's two parts to the conservative party, those that are actually honest, hard working MPs, and those that are there purely on the back of party donations, without a modicum of decency or a moral compass, so bent by deceit, lies and corruption they'll do anything to cling onto power, unfortunately it's the latter which are the prime minister himself and his closest cabinet members.

What does 'guilty' really mean in the end, what are the ramifications?

What I am pointing out, is Johnson was not found 'guilty', I could quite easily get his comment removed by TH-cam, people need to learn not to lie in comments, it's dangerous.
If you feel that lies are ok, then you are as bad as Johnson.
Talking of lies, Corbyn bleated on about not being a racist until he was blue in the face, then we find out he refused to investigate any claims of anti-Semitism in his own party, by ensuring that his own office (LOTO), determined which investigations should be followed up, rather than delegate that role to a more neutral office.
I recall Starmer lying when he denied stating that we should be part of the EU Vaccine Strategy.
They are mostly liars in Westminster, it's a very sad state of affairs.
Johnson clearly has form for wriggling out of things, it's not a trait that I have any time for.
What is even sadder, is that the main threat to Johnson's leadership is from his own party, so inept have Labour become.

Clearly you don't understand how politics works, no opposition can bring down a PM with a significant majority, it has never happened and never will. It is down to the party in power to hold their leader to account ultimately and all Labour can do is follow Parliamentary norms. To say Labour has been inept in this regard is about as stupid a comment as could be made because without Labour pressing the issue the Tories would have swept this under the rug after a week with no reports, investigations or loss of public support and that is all Labour can do, to press the issue. Now I wonder what this week's new scandal will be? Make no mistake that what has been leaked so far is just the tip of the iceberg, there is a hell of a lot more to come out and it will because the leaks are coming from Tories and civil servants.

The fact is that we currently have a Prime Minister who is trying to defend his position by trying the persuade the public that he is just plain stupid and stupid to such a degree that he cannot be held to the same standards as any normal person.
    Let that sink in.
The PM, the man who is the leader of the entire country, the man in whose power it is to make decisions of such magnitude that they determine whether tens of thousands live or die, has stood before Parliament and effectively argued to his Party and indeed the country that he shouldn't resign from his position as the most powerful man in the country because he is so dim that he didn't realise he was breaking his own emergency rules/laws.
And he will get away with it. Why? Because he possesses a large Parliamentary majority, and because a significant majority of his Parliamentary majority are quite happy to accept that he should not be held to the standards that apply to the rest of us.
Frankly, I expect my PM to be held to HIGHER standards than any normal person, otherwise they are simply not fit to hold office. Something is very VERY rotten at the heart of British politics and the last 6 - 7 years have shown that serious institutional and constitutional change is desperately needed.

With the actions of some of them, it's so easy to forget that some politicians are genuinely decent people who truly believe their policies will help society in general. They're not all doing it to make an easy profit & live good life full of all the rewards grifters get. Some really do serve their communities. The ones like Boris Johnson simply make us feel that all of them are money- or power-whores. Johnson & his entire cabinet & all those propping him up are a disgrace who should be vilified, cast out of public office & never be allowed to hold a public position again. Because of them this country has sunk to such a low level we have lost our allies & are a laughing stock of the world, the butt of international jokes. We used to be regarded as a country of integrity, honour, justice & decency, but not anymore. We simply shoot ourselves in the foot all the time now, just to ensure our hatred of others can remain the most important factor of English politics, & we're dragging down the other countries in the UK too. After the referendum & the last election, we've got the PM we deserve. British politics is no longer fair & it never will be, until we have proportioal representation.

What interests me is what senior MPs were also present at Bojo's Garden and other Bashes. Those MPs knew the rules and knew what they were doing was an insult to Her Majesty the Queen and the British people who, by and large, obeyed the rules. Those senior MPs, if found guilty, should also receive severe censure. They must not be allowed to hide.

Quote from Churchill, 1943, after the old house was destroyed:
“The second characteristic of a Chamber formed on the lines of the House of Commons is that it should not be big enough to contain all its Members at once without over-crowding and that there should be no question of every Member having a separate seat reserved for him. The reason for this has long been a puzzle to uninstructed outsiders and has frequently excited the curiosity and even the criticism of new Members. Yet it is not so difficult to understand if you look at it from a practical point of view. If the House is big enough to contain all its Members, nine-tenths of its Debates will be conducted in the depressing atmosphere of an almost empty or half-empty Chamber. The essence of good House of Commons speaking is the conversational style, the facility for quick, informal interruptions and interchanges. Harangues from a rostrum would be a bad substitute for the conversational style in which so much of our business is done. But the conversational style requires a fairly small space, and there should be on great occasions a sense of crowd and urgency. There should be a sense of the importance of much that is said and a sense that great matters are being decided, there and then, by the House."
