Thanks. Fishing for sympathy was definitely not the reason I posted on the seagulls video. I simply wanted to let them know that a silly video had more meaning that just being silly. It’s coming up on 3 years since Beck passed. It does get easier but it never goes away and kind words from people do help. Thanks again.
@@RogerWyatt while I no I can never place myself in your shoes and have felt what u felt(I don't want to it's too sad but that's not the point)I do understand how u feel & while it may never go away he will always live inside your & the rest of your family's heart. the best part is u know u raised him right & did everything u could for him. in the end he did want to make sure u would always be ok.(I did my research). he was truly loving & caring and that's how I KNOW u raised him right. in the end u did everything u could to make him happy & he did everything he could to make sure u & the rest of your family happy in the end. At an age as young as 8 that takes so much courage to do & it warms my heart to even here. it's really unfortunate he died at such a young age & I'm truly sry for your loss. I know for a fact the courage he had lives inside of u & your family & I hope u all never forget that. I wish u & the rest of your family the best of luck & wellbeing & hope u remember to continue to show your's & your sons courage & strength in all future events because u know it's what he would have wanted. edit:I know for a fact I'm not the best at speeches but I did try & hope it makes it easier for you & your family. like I said I wish u,beckett,and the rest of your family the best of luck

I really posted that comment just to let them know that, even though it silly and funny, it mattered. I never expected all the kind comments and support. Maybe I’ll make another video about how my journey has gone so far. I’m by no means an expert on the subject, but I know how it went for me. Again, thanks so much for this!
As a father of two who almost lost his eldest child, I can sympathize with the first stage of your journey but cannot even pretend to begin to understand the depths of the sadness and loss in your eyes despite my sleepless nights, fear, hospital vigils and soulsearching at the time of my daughter's hospitalization. My heart goes out to you mate (and your family) on the most sincerest and paternal level. I can however, offer the very scant solace of knowing that you are not alone nor insignificant in the grand scheme of the universe my friend. After your comment on BLR, I have since seen 2 videos dedicated to your little boy and now know that half a world away from Australia there was a little guy named Beckett Wyatt who was loved by his father, his family and the many people who's lives he enriched as shown by the large turnout in your buddy seat video. His story lives on and spreads through your sharing of it, even to the other side of the globe. From one father to another, stay strong mate and embrace the good memories, don't focus on the regrets and continue to honor and share all the wonderful things about your time together.

A kind word costs absolutely nothing, just like the one you passed on to BLR in your post to let them know the impact they had on your life with something as simple as a parody song. When I thought there was a chance to lose my daughter I strongly recall trying to cram as many of those precious little moments into my head as possible so I could hold onto them. I even thought about making a list on a notepad so I wouldn't forget. The intent came across as a heartfelt thank you from someone appreciative of that small comfort amidst an unbearable feeling of loss, regardless of what a few others may think. It is as clear as day to anyone who has kids and has had even the fear of loss. Unfortunately the very nature of the internet often sows scepticism right out of the gate for many. It would be nice if they looked further before posting but people will be people. Don't pay any mind to those ones. And hey, this is nothing more than my attempt to pass that buck back around to you, say thank you for letting us know about your boy and those little moments and just to let you know that hey, it matters, all of it. Even to complete strangers when you share it and in the sharing it keeps those memories sharp in your mind. Don't worry man Beckett is a bloody legend. he's probably hanging out with god like they're roommates, and he probably had the best birthday parties with you around. Cancer's a bitch, lost my 2 of my grandparents to it. 'that log had a child'

Ay man I just randomly found this and I’m real sorry for your loss I know it must be hard for you I was fighting back tears even though I don’t know him and you are staying so positive he must have grateful to have such a great father and I know this is hard but this stuff happens and it is terrible but we know he’s in a better place and hopefully you continue to fight through this god bless you and you’ll probably see him again
