    the placenta was the WORST for me! after my baby, i had no feeling down there and i couldn’t feel if i was pushing it out or not. they put an oxygen mask on me to “soften” it. ironically, it hurt more than the baby. before delivering the placenta, i only had a small abrasion, but then i tore after delivering the placenta.
    but it’s ALL worth it. the contractions, the pushing, the pain. you get the most beautiful creation ever.
    God bless all mommy’s that already had their baby(ies), are pregnant or trying to get pregnant. I wish nothing but a healthy and happy baby/ family for you!!

    I love how she says she says she wanted to gain under 30 pounds. I was the same until I found out I was pregnant with triplets 😂😂 it was impossible not keep gaining weight 😂

    You never want to pull on the umbilical cord to remove the placenta, especially if the placenta is being stubborn and doesn't want removed you can cause a uterine inversion, also known as you turning your uterus inside out and it's a potentially fatal complication. So never tug on the umbilical cord to get the placenta out if your not a trained doctor because you may tug too hard and turn your uterus inside out.

    When I was born I was a long and complicated birth which meant a lot of the younger staff wanted to watch me be born. My mum was getting uncomfortable with all the strangers watching me so my dad literally went around to every person and if they didn’t have an actual job to do with the birth he sent them out! 💕💕

    Pulling the placenta out can cause hemorrhaging (bleeding) in your uterus and the doctor should never tug on the cord to get the placenta out. Can be very dangerous for mom!

    I work at a daycare, and honestly your baby sounds like a dream baby. Like, she's on an easy feeding schedule, can sleep through noise, only wakes up once in the night (that says a lot about how a baby is during the day I feel like). Like I want her!! She would be so fun to work with!!

  • @georgia2568
    @georgia2568 5 ปีที่แล้ว +27

    I agreed with everything she said besides the part about not paying attention or feeling what happens after birth, I felt every single stitch as it went through skin AND when they pulled them together (I had an epidural also) stitches for me was traumatizing. 1000% worse than contractions and pushing combined. Take everything someone says with a grain of salt and remember, she can only speak on her own experience!

    Also u push the placenta out. Usually about 30 mins after birth they tell u to push once and the placenta comes out. I rememebr this after my son. Maybe for some people it comes out without pushing. They have to make sure all the placenta got out otherwise u can get a life threatening infection.

    “POSTPARTUM BODY!!!” Did your body change a lot after the baby? If so how do you deal with your new body?
    ...
    My husband and I want kids but I honestly don’t want my body to change it’s taken a lot to except and love the body I have now. I’m sacred of having my baby and then getting postpartum depression 😔 I don’t want to resent my child for something so superficial but when you hate what you see in the mirror for so long and then finally after several years you come around to loving what you look like it’s a big hit to fall back into that self hate again. I don’t want that! I can’t do that to myself, but I WANT a family some day! Someone please help give me advice! ANYONE!

    My newborn was an awful sleepe...he had to sleep on me 24/7 or would cry and cry...u couldnt eat or shower or clean or do anything. He akso had bad reflux and would refuse to nurse every feeding after a minute and would throw up 4 times every feeding....it was such a struggle. The newborn phase was the worst part for me..now he is almost 2 and i love this age way more! And we r still nursing! Weaning soon thougj

    Very interesting video. My experience was definitely different. I did not have an epidural which is likely why. I think I blocked most of the delivery out. Pushing hurt a ton. I didn’t even feel the placenta being delivered at all. A nurse delivered my baby. The doc was late lol. I almost think the lidocaine for stitches hurt worse than pushing my baby out. I felt completely normal walking around afterwards but again, no epidural. I gave birth in an LDRP so delivery and postpartum were all in the same room. Personally labor and pushing was worse than the recovery but overall neither were awful. Being a mom is amazing! I definitely miss the newborn stage. My absolute favorite stage.

    Number one reason why there are more c-sections in women today is because of overweight, an obgyn recommended a friend if she wanted to raise the chances of her having natural birth that she has to start moving and eat healthier at 5 months!(because she had already gained more weight than needed at that point)

  • @kattyalltop3496
    @kattyalltop3496 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    I didn’t have a epidural and one thing I didn’t expect was to feel the need to push before I was dilated enough. I thought the urge to push only came when you were ready. Luckily I didn’t have to wait long. It was hard to fight of the urge to push. I think more than anything I was nervous that I’d accidentally push to soon and I’d hurt the baby. I think the most painful part though was delivering the placenta because the lady pushed on my stomach for almost an hour after because she wanted to make sure everything was out because she thought I was a red head and apparently red heads tend to bleed a lot more. So she spent forever pushing on my stomach and it hurt so bad. But I loved being able to look over and see my baby getting skin to skin from his dad. It was honestly such an amazing experience. And honestly Aspen you’re so lucky. I’m three weeks postpartum and I’m still having problems with my bladder leaking. It makes it hard to go places or walk for too long. But like you said. It’s SO worth it!

    If u have an epidural its not rlly accurate to say which one hurts more cuz u didnt feel the pushing. From people i know who have gone all natural the pushing is excruciating..there is something called the ring of fire when the babys head is coming out and ue vagina feels like its on fire..but then its immediate relief once baby is out. I got an epidural so i dont know how painful pushing is but contractions were painful too but from others stories i think pushing is worse

    In Australia they give you a needle to get the placenta to come out quickly
