    Dude they honestly should’ve used this song in the end credits of eternal sunshine of the spotless mind. I would’ve cried so hard if they did 💀💀💀

      Thank you! Can’t sing high enough so the alternative was very low. Maybe should have changed the key…

    This is beautiful man…. I really want to be able to do this. Did you learn to play this by ear or through a youtube video tutorial? Or guitar tabs?

    • @maxthomson11
      @maxthomson11  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks. I just learnt it by watching him play and listening to the song closely.

      @@maxthomson11 I can’t wait till I can learn to play by ear :) any tips on how to get there? Just learn the scales?

    • @maxthomson11
      @maxthomson11  หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      Tbh I don’t know any guitar scales besides pentatonic and major lol. I think the more you play, you eventually begin to recognise the sound of certain chords, and you become familiar with more chord shapes, so when you encounter new songs you have a foundation to work out what is being played. More complex songs take longer, but that just means you need to practice and listen more. Good luck to you!

      @@AaronLyons lots of practice! I learnt how to do it over the last year and a bit by starting with learning lead lines by ear and then figuring out chord progressions after I was good at that. Ear training practice helps a ton too. I’m sure there are some websites that would help with that. If you can tell if a chord is major or minor easily it makes figuring them out so much quicker.
      Once you feel comfortable as practice it can be fun to put on an album you like and just try and play along as you listen. It doesn’t have to be perfect but just see what you can get. It’s a good exercise I think, and at the very least it’s a lot of fun :)

    How do you mute like that in the intro? Is it palm mute or muting the left hand?
    Also what guitar is that? It's beautiful! Love mahogany

    • @maxthomson11
      @maxthomson11  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Pretty sure I was just muting it with my strumming hand, sort of laying my hand across the strings when I move my hand for the downstrum.
      And thank you! The guitar is a Martin road series, not sure of the exact model name I’m afraid
