Okay, as someone who bought this car earlier this year. Yes, he makes a lot of good points. But no, it doesn’t suck driving as a daily. I love it. I love knowing I could romp anyone’s ass next to me. I didn’t buy a Range Rover, I bought a badass Jeep. And it’s awesome- not perfect, but effing awesome. Thank you WK1 for making my everyday brighter.
Thankyou because I was thinking about getting one but when he said it doesn’t feel like you’re driving in anything special it turned me off a little
@@johnliberty6779As some who just got a 06 a month ago and already put 4,100 miles on it, its DEFINITELY worth it. The fact that it will spin the tires on a launch despite being AWD is amazing. Its the most fun you’ll ever have, and he is right on the downsides of it, but if you want reliable and something that makes you smiles just listening to a pushrod V8 purr on the highway, get it if you can. And this generation of SRT Jeep still and will hold their value very well if maintained properly.

It’s 12 yrs old. Of course it’s dated . Still a much nicer interior than a Trailblazer SS or any GM car of that era.

The interior is very durable too. My dad's WK has been sitting in the Florida sun for a decade and the dash is perfect.

As a wk1 Jeep owner, I absolutely love it everything about the car. Idk why you hate the interior so much like it’s not even a big deal. The design of the car is 17 years old and it STILL holds up. Plus you aren’t buying an srt8 wk1 for the interior in the first place. Planning to get one in a month from now and just as much as I love my wk1 v6 I’ll love this wk1 SRT8. Amazing Jeep.

The “trunk” button on the key fob is not for a power lift gate, as this generation (WK, 2005-2010) didn’t come with it. They button you were pushing was the remote glass release.

I daily dove mine for a few years when my work commute was 10 miles round trip but after the commute became 50 miles it became a lot less enjoyable for the reasons you stated. Ended up getting myself a X5 to daily drive which is 100x more comfortable to drive daily and now I drive the Jeep a couple times a week and it puts a smile on my face every time. The gas fuel saving been quite substantial as well.
My 06 SRT8 has been extremely reliable for the past 117Miles & 10 years of ownership 👍 I definitely agree the interior on the first generation is budget but the look and driving experience is amazing
I want to get srt8 for my second car but i don’t know if I want to go with the first gen or second how’s the first gen did you have a lot of issues with all those years or did you not have any.
@@jonathansaguilan8075 my 06 has over 120K I bought it with 38K I have done all the fluids on schedule oil change Mobil 1 every 3K . I have replaced two starters a water pump all hoses spark plugs and a radiator . My mods are a Mopar cold air intake and a Solo Performance Exhaust. It’s by far the best vehicle I have owned and I have been driving since 1993 and owned over 20 vehicles. I would suggest finding one with a detailed service history this way you know it’s been taken care of.. best of luck to you
Had my SRT8 for about 6 years and the only problems I've had were battery issues, suspension springs, and O2 sensor. Only the last thing is really Jeep specific. Mine has been shockingly reliable. I expected more problems but pleasantly surprised... at least so far. Mine's an '08 too btw.
The interior on the 06/07 is ok. But the 08 - 10 interior is better. I dont have any complaints. I made sure to get the updated interior when i bought my wk1
I daily this. I bought a 2009 in 2013 with 61k miles and I'm posting here today in 2024 with 148k miles.
Best decision I ever made.
That sub actually comes stock along with a kicker system 6x9 5x5 speakers
Hello good afternoon. I would like to ask you a question please. I have in mind to buy an SRT8 from 2010. At a speed of 160km /h, how much do you estimate the fuel consumption? You have any idea of the consumption at that speed on the highway? because it came to me that it is 3 km / liter, it seemed very little to me, but it is an SRT! Thank you.

I daily drive mine. It's full bolt on, cammed, and comfortable. Not sure why you would have an issue driving it every day? It's just like every other Jeep except fun to drive. I also prefer the more aggressive body styling of the WK1 compared to the WK2 SRT....
Mine's awesome love it, but I'd never go over 40PSI on the tyres like this one? Was surprised that seems way too high?
The sub is stock. This Jeep has the SRT Kicker stereo system. I have that same stereo in my SRT4 Caliber
Probably 9.3 mpg after doing those ‘pulls’. My 5.7 HEMI can get into the low 20s on a run with a light right foot. I think expecting a power tailgate is a bit much as these came out in ‘05/06’. The interior does look a bit low rent worse than my 5.7 which is in Overland trim. Lastly that SRT8 looks pretty rough underneath possibly worse than mine which is 4 years older and has spent its entire life in the UK!

Yeah, the interior is kinda dated...for a 2021 car. I think it's okay for a mainstream car in 2010. Although, I agree that it leaves a lot to be desired, considering it was the high performance version of a mainstream car.

I personally don't care about the interior and options, all that counts is that 6.1 Hemi SRT8!

thinking about upgrading from my gti to an srt8 jeep, not too concerned about interior quality as long as it has heated seats! plus these seem to be pretty reliable, especially compared to my mk5 lol

This guy definitely didn’t do his homework 1st that button you’re pressing twice it opens the rear glass only 2nd that is a stock sub 3rd yea everything sounds rattling and noise down there even tho it’s only 62k miles that’s because look at that mf it’s all rusty from the bottom thanks to salty Illinois 🤷🏼♂️

Don't know how much this vehicle weighs but I still want the 6.1 L 08 Dodge Charger SRT8 got to be faster on launch just because it's lighter I'm assuming and assuming everything sticks it is rear wheel drive

I average 13.5 city and 18 highway with normal driving. His 9.3 is A LOT of heavy pedal.

can confirm, my 08 WK GC (mine has the 3.7 powertech v6) has 227k on original transmission and it is still as smooth as the day it was new
Lol yea right my 5 spd in my 300c blew at 80k its a chrysler i know it has a hemi but i didnt really dog it like that. For how i drove it i was very suprised my tranny blew): all good tho. I got the 2012 rt charger i mean same setup as in engine and tranny but shes almost new at like 30k miles. I got life left in this benzo tranny

@@ChompDoggo probably at the end of the day thats what i told myself. Just unlucky. Shit happens but like i said got the charger. Its not brand new but shit its a lil upgrade from what i had. At least something good came of it. I actually ended up repairing the tranny but i traded in afterwards i just wanted to get it running so i did then i drove it for a bit and man it was nice. I believe they put like a upgraded torque converter cause they sent it offlot for that. But either way it was fun while it lasted. But im technically on the same setup. I just thing for the chargers and challengers they beefed up the 5-speed a lil bit. I got sport mode and man this charger has torque.
The 6.1 liter is pretty solid as well

Big engine in a small car. This is not a secret formula for a great vehicle. It is something that is lost on car makers. Some government regulations make it that way. Mostly way you don't see little trucks anymore. Government needs to find another hobby. They are doing the "car guy" thing wrong. Stick to fixing the roads for real car guys.
