@Connor Pettingell to be honest battlefront 2 is a shallow game even if you ignored the micro transactions the map design is just terrible and ruins the game play loops, its not bad for a quick casual round or two but compared to say Battlefield 4 it is very lacking in terms of being a quality experience. I know people cried about not making a Battlefield Clone when that is exactly what they should have done... it would of added some depth and variation to the gameplay vastly improving the product rather then the shallow experience we got of funnel all the players down narrow passages and repeat over and over(yes I know they have other modes now and they are better but it is to little to late in my opinion).

I like their world building, but imho the gameplay of the witcher series is extremely boring which is why I can't replay the game at all. Still excited for Cyberpunk though.

Why? I would say this guy takes far too much onus away from Respawn in terms of decisions. Respawn created Apex with zero direction from EA and the studio creator himself has said that the Titanfall 2 release date was chosen by them, not EA.
You’re not far from the truth I’d say. In the reasoning of marketing for apex, and keeping it secret until release was because respawn knew of the hate towards EA and how even having them as the publisher to your game can effect sales. Now I’m not saying everyone hates EA at respawn, hell for all I know, they could love each other, but from what I have seen, it looks like everything respawn gets and does that seems out of the norm for EA, is fought teeth and nail by respawn to get into the game. Hence why some fans had problems with limbs and how lightsabers should’ve clean cut through them. However for animals it was a tough fight to get limbs cut off, (which you can see in the most recent gameplay) just that any human can not be separated from their limbs. In a nutshell everything respawn does for the well being of the gamers is fought for by the studio, only allowed by EA because they so fucked themselves with battlefront

They shouldn't. Respawn are the original Infinity Ward before they were fired/left Activision. They might not love EA but they own considerably more of their games now then when they made CoDs (the Modern Warfare ones). Titanfall 2 was amazing I don’t regret playing the campaign in 2019! If you like fluid gameplay and fast mechanics the campaign is for you! Some great visuals and memorable level design/ events.
For the low price of less that 5 dollars, the campaign was AMAZING and really loved the game. Trully a shame of what happened to it by its launch time. Shame on EA again, still happy for Apex Legends.
don't forget that EA is not this single company with it's evil emperor. They buy little studios all the time. The games come from those studios. Most of them want to create awesome games for sure but they are not always allowed to do what they are wanting to do.

Same here. Dead space 1 and 2 was the horror games we needed. 3 was messed up because of EA wanting to monetize it and push it off its original formula for multiplayer and it ruined it...... i cant STAND EA
You're outlining a lot of reasons why EA doesn't make these kinds of games: there's more room for failure and less room for major profit. No matter how successful this game is, it will never make more money than FIFA, and that's why this game is not a "middle finger" to EA. If successful, this game will convince EA of nothing, and if it fails, EA will know that live services are the safer investment. If you want good games, just don't look to EA; they are not in the business of good games. This is a fluke, not the beginning of a bright future for EA.
Yeah, pretty much. Konami has never learned their lesson, why would EA? They're dead-companies walking. This video is more about wishful thinking than anything impactful. Aaron Cunningham in your opinion, what gaming development company has the resources and passion to make a good range of Star Wars games. Like, I like Star Wars Battlefront 2 now but for the longest I thought it was pretty trash but it was the only new Star Wars game I could play online with peeps. And now that me and my little brother are playing on the barely filled lobbies of the dead Star Wars Battlefront EA 2015 and actually like the gameplay though the shallowness becomes apparent after the first 2-3 battles. Battlefront 1 got blasters and explosives right while Battlefront 2 got physics (yes I see what Boskk and Grievous have become) and content right. Now if we can get a company and dev team that could combine these great traits and create a whole new Star Wars game that has a godly campaign and divine multiplayer with a shit ton of actually good content the game couldn't possibly fail. People, fans, consumers will pay for micro transactions if it doesn't effect their overall gameplay since it won't trigger idiots online that the game is pay to win. EA has stepped up their game with SWBF2 but they still don't pump out enough. The games release with too little and had mediocre gameplay moments that completely ruined your enjoyment. They've fixed and are fixing most of those bugs but they're engraved into the software that I honestly feel they'll never be truly "fixed." Now I might get controversial here with my Star Wars beliefs but had LucasFilms (Kathleen Kennedy) kept at least the best portions of the Expanded Universe then this content deficiency that is drastically apparent with all of the NuCanon's material would not exist. If a Star Wars game in this era had free reign to any era in Legends the developers could honestly make a game of unparalleled quality. Like, who wouldn't want to play as a Jedi Knight in the Old Sith Wars or a Sith Warrior back then cutting down blind Jedi fools ? How about the Post-Endor content that everyone who knows a fraction of Legends knows has a to of stories and characters ? If we could play as Mara Jade on missions given to us from The Emperor (and this is a separate idea as a single player game) it would beat any other game they've made. There's just too much story material for the woman that they can't make an interesting and captivating game ! I'm going on my rant again. Imma stop here and let you guys think for a minute...
Knights of the old republic two has one of if not the most thoughtful insight into Jedi vs Sith dynamics, their beliefs and how Jedi aren’t all their cracked up to be. When Luke talked about not needing the Jedi in last Jedi I was so excited they might go into the grey area but then he “poofed” and well...we’ll see. Get KOTOR 1 and 2. They are the best Star Wars games to date.

I'm bored of all those online games where either you spend your money or your life to have fun and when you play more casually you have nothing to do because you're up against "professional gamers" I'd love to see a relaunch of the force unleashed on switch for example. That game was great and would love to play it again

Each type of game has it’s own qualities that make them good including linear, just look at the uncharted series. It’s always been linear and it’s one of the best franchises in gaming imo.
I feel like it’s all about how you approach it. You know? Like linear Jrpgs work because of the characters stories and world and they usually offer to go back to areas to get more upgrades and stuff. However I feel like a souls like Star Wars game is something we’ve wanted for years. If this game succeeds and I feel like it will I would love to see Star Wars 1313 to come back.
I prefer linear if its a set story and character. This is to fill canon amd progress a story. I prefer my open world games to have character creation and open end story. This game still looks great...as soon as they tell me how friggen long it is.
Tbh alot of open world games bore me eventually because of how big and sometimes empty they can be (I never finished Witcher 3 for this reason) Linear games are great and more focused than their open world counterparts, I love open world games but linear games are just as good if not better. Linear games have more immediate enjoyment as opposed to travelling the map for minutes on end or doing busy work.

Imagine having the creator of the franchise say that the game should have ended on it's third release (MGS3, not counting MG1 and MG2) and basically enslaving him and his branch to poop out a new game every 3 or so years. That's the reason MGS5 is so bad when it comes to the story line, in gameplay terms it's really good, it's a kojima game after all, but it's a very raw game, not finished at all. Such a waste of Kojimas potential.

They pushed for Microtransaction and split up games into dlcs, pouring money into games no one's asking for (wink wink Anthem) while taking funds away from beloved series (wink wink Mass Effect), cutting production time in favor of yearly release, which tesulted with them releasing unfinishfed product with a promise of latet patch, for most Single Player games, it's too late by then.
Destination Softcore publishers should be designed to found developers give them ideas and help them when they need help also they are designed to give them deadlines. As bad as it may sound every game needs a deadline or the company will end up never shipping a game or becoming like warframe and literally admitting on stream that you always do everything last minute
Ya, their games don't 'NEED" micro transactions and EA has never believed that. What they know is that games WITH micro transactions make far more money. EA isn't under some impression that single player games can't make money. They bash single player games to justify their constant online/look box filled/always online game game releases. EA just wants to make as much money as possible and right now that's by making these loot box/micro transaction games. The only reason their making this game is to improve their reputation and calm the haters. EA will never stop loot box filled/micro transaction filled games because they keep making them shit loads of money.
Yeah i think that was the whole point of the video, EA could be the best publisher out there but no they see competition within their own internal studios. They have the rights to some of the best properties out there and are literally reenacting that sign from the dark knight where joker burns the money by killing them off. Dead Space could of gone on for a couple more games, maybe a prequel, mass effect is or was literally a cash cow if used properly. They have the star wars license and bioware so KOTOR3 should be a no brainer. Leave microtransactions in fifa and madden i really couldn't care if that allows the other studios to work on worthwhile projects and great experiences. They took the micro transactions too far now people are starting to pay attention, dont like them personally but it's a choice people are making at end of the day whether thats kids buying ultimate team packs or the parents allowing the use of their credit cards to be used in that manner, the blame cant be solely placed on EA, we allowed them to get into this mindset of microtransactions is king
If EA wants their games to have "longevity" then all they have to do is release SDKs and provide mod support and people will still be playing that shit 10 years later

I feel bad for bioware though...they used to be great, and then they gave their fans the biggest middle finger on earth with the ending to ME3, and then dual biggest middle fingers on earth with ME:A, and then they banked the future of the company on a half-assed Destiny knock-off.. It was a decision made within a creative process, that has everything to do with how the developers wanted to tell a tale, explore concepts, etc... In other words, it's everything a game SHOULD do. Now I'm not saying it's a GOOD ending. (Although I feel people are way too dramatic about it then they should be). But it having an ending that the fans don't like doesn't mean it's an anti-consumer game. ME:A most definitely WAS a middle finger to consumers. While it had some good ideas, EA's greed caused some horrid deadlines and awful development decisions that eventually doomed the game. As for Anthem, I never understood the point of the game to begin with. As you said, it was a destiny knock-off (or at least inspired by it) but in flying robots. Fun concept to have your own iron man suit, but a game is more than just a superficial design. The gameplay was, much like Destiny, utterly boring. Add to that the usual EA micro-transaction bullshit and we have a failure of a game. Mass Effect 3 might have a disappointing ending for some people, but it's still a finished work of gaming art with none of the EA nonsense attached to it.
@@numberyellow i dont find the ending of ME3 a middle finger to the fans! i kinda liked it. all the stuff having to do with the geth and quarians i resolved before the ending of the game and alot of other stuff like that that was the cilmination of the 2 games before i played and made choices in that carried over to part 3. for the time that trilogy was a big thing and took some risks. even though ME2 is the best by far and a pretty big change from part 1 i loved them all. and andromeda u should check out what happened behind the senes. they had a kinda no manys sky Me that they were working on but when NMS launched and they saw how it was received they were orderd to make a new game from scratch with only 18 months untill the release date. and allthough i cant deny the story sucks. the gameplay was really good and felt fun to play and do different builds for combat. anthem however from the 1st e3 gameplay showing i had a feeling it would suck and the beta sadly confirmed it.

@@LegacyRO3 they took all the hard work and practice that competitive players have been grinding for years to achieve and threw it all out the window in gears 5 to cater to casual players, they added insane aim assist, insane bullet magnitism, made every weapon overpowered as all hell amd then made the power weapons even more powerful, it released with like 5 maps, a couple characters, only 1 being Marcus from Delta squad, the rest any gears playing veterans could care less about, infested all the earnable content with a free to play battle pass style filled with maybe 4 or 5 skins that suck, a couple weapon skins that aren't all that great, and made the rest stupid emblems, marks and bloodsplatrers that I find hard to believe anyone even asked for? Built all the maps for lancer play, there is virtually no close quarter combat now which imo made gears gears...that's just the tip of the iceberg. They basically catered to casuals and got rid of any skill gap that there ever was. It's a joke really, which is why I deleted it and went back to 4

I have a feeling this is all too true, I will wait for the game to come out but once it is out and I can see some reviews and some actual game play footage I will probably buy it, I love single player story driven games... I play an MMO but I play it alone and for the story 90% of the time, and wish they'd make single player games for it again...
EA has always done that. They always done these stupid things to get money, then throw out a gem every once in a while to make people happy. Mass effect, dragon age, the sims and fifa(personally not a fan of sports games but it is an extremely popular game) are all EA games.

I just replay KotoR 1 and 2. I refuse to hand EA anymore of my money, and only have Origin installed to play ME series, KotoR, and Dragon Age origins. (disc installs now require Origin to input CD keys)

Also the poor sales will hurt Respawn more than EA, look at Titanfall 2 as an example... As much as I hate EA, if the game turns out to be actually good, I will buy it and do my best to support it, I'm always down for supporting great single-player experiences :D But I will definitely wait until the reviews come out :p
To be fair, multiplayer seemed like it was the way to go. It's only been in recent years that it's become obvious that single-player is alive and well and profitable.

And defending battle royals gamers, the most toxic of all the gamers, isnt a good stance to take either. I just want Star Wars Skyrim. A large game where you can be a bounty hunter, Jedi, Sith, Grey Jedi, and a lot more. You could eventually become the Jedi Grandmaster just like Yoda was. Maybe it could be based after the First Order vs. Resistance time period.

Kotor was great for it's time, but I kindof want something akin to Mass Effect 2, where you get to explore and there are tons of enemies everywhere, but there are some planets just hanging out in the middle of space just to give a lore dump about them. Mass Effect 2 was amazing, but if taken a bit further would of been a masterpiece.

I hear a lot of people predicting that EA will roll out the micro transactions a month after it launches. Of course, the depths of EA depravity knows no bounds, but I actually don't think it will happen in this case. First of all, after the debacle of Battlefront II, I wouldn't be surprised if Disney demanded that they leave the micro transactions out. Right now, Disney does not want any more bad press around Star Wars. Also, this sort of game probably wouldn't pull in that much cash from microtransactions compaired to a "live service" anyway.

Let's say suddenly after those 2 weeks, a company decides to just completely ruin a game after everyone has already bought it. For example with paid DLC when they said DLC would be free. I just don't trust companies enough to give them money unless they prove that the game will still be enjoyable a year later. Besides, you save a lot of money buying games for $30 dollars rather than $60.

Honestly I’m surprised ea hasn’t made a destiny style Star Wars game with bounty hunters. Think about it, destiny has made tons of money, ya it has expensive ass dlc(which is the one thing I think they shouldn’t put in the game if it was to be made), but even without the dlc the game still has tons of content and it’s player base is huge. Personally I think this would be a great idea, it fits with Star Wars’ theme and I know a lot of people who would want this game, so if ea wants to make a multiplayer based Star Wars game than I think this would be their best bet aside from a battlefront game(a good one) in not just a financial view, but in a view of pleasing the fans.

@Connor Pettingell to be honest battlefront 2 is a shallow game even if you ignored the micro transactions the map design is just terrible and ruins the game play loops, its not bad for a quick casual round or two but compared to say Battlefield 4 it is very lacking in terms of being a quality experience. I know people cried about not making a Battlefield Clone when that is exactly what they should have done... it would of added some depth and variation to the gameplay vastly improving the product rather then the shallow experience we got of funnel all the players down narrow passages and repeat over and over(yes I know they have other modes now and they are better but it is to little to late in my opinion).

You’re not far from the truth I’d say. In the reasoning of marketing for apex, and keeping it secret until release was because respawn knew of the hate towards EA and how even having them as the publisher to your game can effect sales. Now I’m not saying everyone hates EA at respawn, hell for all I know, they could love each other, but from what I have seen, it looks like everything respawn gets and does that seems out of the norm for EA, is fought teeth and nail by respawn to get into the game. Hence why some fans had problems with limbs and how lightsabers should’ve clean cut through them. However for animals it was a tough fight to get limbs cut off, (which you can see in the most recent gameplay) just that any human can not be separated from their limbs.
In a nutshell everything respawn does for the well being of the gamers is fought for by the studio, only allowed by EA because they so fucked themselves with battlefront

Titanfall 2 was amazing I don’t regret playing the campaign in 2019! If you like fluid gameplay and fast mechanics the campaign is for you! Some great visuals and memorable level design/ events.
For the low price of less that 5 dollars, the campaign was AMAZING and really loved the game. Trully a shame of what happened to it by its launch time. Shame on EA again, still happy for Apex Legends.

Same here. Dead space 1 and 2 was the horror games we needed. 3 was messed up because of EA wanting to monetize it and push it off its original formula for multiplayer and it ruined it...... i cant STAND EA

You're outlining a lot of reasons why EA doesn't make these kinds of games: there's more room for failure and less room for major profit. No matter how successful this game is, it will never make more money than FIFA, and that's why this game is not a "middle finger" to EA.
If successful, this game will convince EA of nothing, and if it fails, EA will know that live services are the safer investment. If you want good games, just don't look to EA; they are not in the business of good games. This is a fluke, not the beginning of a bright future for EA.

This video is more about wishful thinking than anything impactful. While I want to support EA if they make good decisions, this was clearly mandated by Disney and will have no lasting positive effect, so I can't bring myself to spend the money.
Aaron Cunningham in your opinion, what gaming development company has the resources and passion to make a good range of Star Wars games. Like, I like Star Wars Battlefront 2 now but for the longest I thought it was pretty trash but it was the only new Star Wars game I could play online with peeps. And now that me and my little brother are playing on the barely filled lobbies of the dead Star Wars Battlefront EA 2015 and actually like the gameplay though the shallowness becomes apparent after the first 2-3 battles. Battlefront 1 got blasters and explosives right while Battlefront 2 got physics (yes I see what Boskk and Grievous have become) and content right. Now if we can get a company and dev team that could combine these great traits and create a whole new Star Wars game that has a godly campaign and divine multiplayer with a shit ton of actually good content the game couldn't possibly fail. People, fans, consumers will pay for micro transactions if it doesn't effect their overall gameplay since it won't trigger idiots online that the game is pay to win. EA has stepped up their game with SWBF2 but they still don't pump out enough. The games release with too little and had mediocre gameplay moments that completely ruined your enjoyment. They've fixed and are fixing most of those bugs but they're engraved into the software that I honestly feel they'll never be truly "fixed."
Now I might get controversial here with my Star Wars beliefs but had LucasFilms (Kathleen Kennedy) kept at least the best portions of the Expanded Universe then this content deficiency that is drastically apparent with all of the NuCanon's material would not exist. If a Star Wars game in this era had free reign to any era in Legends the developers could honestly make a game of unparalleled quality. Like, who wouldn't want to play as a Jedi Knight in the Old Sith Wars or a Sith Warrior back then cutting down blind Jedi fools ? How about the Post-Endor content that everyone who knows a fraction of Legends knows has a to of stories and characters ? If we could play as Mara Jade on missions given to us from The Emperor (and this is a separate idea as a single player game) it would beat any other game they've made. There's just too much story material for the woman that they can't make an interesting and captivating game ! I'm going on my rant again. Imma stop here and let you guys think for a minute...

Knights of the old republic two has one of if not the most thoughtful insight into Jedi vs Sith dynamics, their beliefs and how Jedi aren’t all their cracked up to be. When Luke talked about not needing the Jedi in last Jedi I was so excited they might go into the grey area but then he “poofed” and well...we’ll see. Get KOTOR 1 and 2. They are the best Star Wars games to date.

Each type of game has it’s own qualities that make them good including linear, just look at the uncharted series. It’s always been linear and it’s one of the best franchises in gaming imo.
I feel like it’s all about how you approach it. You know? Like linear Jrpgs work because of the characters stories and world and they usually offer to go back to areas to get more upgrades and stuff.

I prefer linear if its a set story and character. This is to fill canon amd progress a story. I prefer my open world games to have character creation and open end story. This game still looks great...as soon as they tell me how friggen long it is.
Tbh alot of open world games bore me eventually because of how big and sometimes empty they can be (I never finished Witcher 3 for this reason)
Linear games are great and more focused than their open world counterparts, I love open world games but linear games are just as good if not better. Linear games have more immediate enjoyment as opposed to travelling the map for minutes on end or doing busy work.

Imagine having the creator of the franchise say that the game should have ended on it's third release (MGS3, not counting MG1 and MG2) and basically enslaving him and his branch to poop out a new game every 3 or so years. That's the reason MGS5 is so bad when it comes to the story line, in gameplay terms it's really good, it's a kojima game after all, but it's a very raw game, not finished at all. Such a waste of Kojimas potential.

Destination Softcore publishers should be designed to found developers give them ideas and help them when they need help also they are designed to give them deadlines. As bad as it may sound every game needs a deadline or the company will end up never shipping a game or becoming like warframe and literally admitting on stream that you always do everything last minute
Ya, their games don't 'NEED" micro transactions and EA has never believed that. What they know is that games WITH micro transactions make far more money. EA isn't under some impression that single player games can't make money. They bash single player games to justify their constant online/look box filled/always online game game releases. EA just wants to make as much money as possible and right now that's by making these loot box/micro transaction games. The only reason their making this game is to improve their reputation and calm the haters. EA will never stop loot box filled/micro transaction filled games because they keep making them shit loads of money.
Yeah i think that was the whole point of the video, EA could be the best publisher out there but no they see competition within their own internal studios. They have the rights to some of the best properties out there and are literally reenacting that sign from the dark knight where joker burns the money by killing them off. Dead Space could of gone on for a couple more games, maybe a prequel, mass effect is or was literally a cash cow if used properly. They have the star wars license and bioware so KOTOR3 should be a no brainer. Leave microtransactions in fifa and madden i really couldn't care if that allows the other studios to work on worthwhile projects and great experiences. They took the micro transactions too far now people are starting to pay attention, dont like them personally but it's a choice people are making at end of the day whether thats kids buying ultimate team packs or the parents allowing the use of their credit cards to be used in that manner, the blame cant be solely placed on EA, we allowed them to get into this mindset of microtransactions is king

Now I'm not saying it's a GOOD ending. (Although I feel people are way too dramatic about it then they should be). But it having an ending that the fans don't like doesn't mean it's an anti-consumer game.
ME:A most definitely WAS a middle finger to consumers. While it had some good ideas, EA's greed caused some horrid deadlines and awful development decisions that eventually doomed the game.
As for Anthem, I never understood the point of the game to begin with. As you said, it was a destiny knock-off (or at least inspired by it) but in flying robots. Fun concept to have your own iron man suit, but a game is more than just a superficial design. The gameplay was, much like Destiny, utterly boring. Add to that the usual EA micro-transaction bullshit and we have a failure of a game.
Mass Effect 3 might have a disappointing ending for some people, but it's still a finished work of gaming art with none of the EA nonsense attached to it.

@@numberyellow i dont find the ending of ME3 a middle finger to the fans! i kinda liked it. all the stuff having to do with the geth and quarians i resolved before the ending of the game and alot of other stuff like that that was the cilmination of the 2 games before i played and made choices in that carried over to part 3.
for the time that trilogy was a big thing and took some risks. even though ME2 is the best by far and a pretty big change from part 1 i loved them all.
and andromeda u should check out what happened behind the senes. they had a kinda no manys sky Me that they were working on but when NMS launched and they saw how it was received they were orderd to make a new game from scratch with only 18 months untill the release date. and allthough i cant deny the story sucks. the gameplay was really good and felt fun to play and do different builds for combat.
anthem however from the 1st e3 gameplay showing i had a feeling it would suck and the beta sadly confirmed it.

@@LegacyRO3 they took all the hard work and practice that competitive players have been grinding for years to achieve and threw it all out the window in gears 5 to cater to casual players, they added insane aim assist, insane bullet magnitism, made every weapon overpowered as all hell amd then made the power weapons even more powerful, it released with like 5 maps, a couple characters, only 1 being Marcus from Delta squad, the rest any gears playing veterans could care less about, infested all the earnable content with a free to play battle pass style filled with maybe 4 or 5 skins that suck, a couple weapon skins that aren't all that great, and made the rest stupid emblems, marks and bloodsplatrers that I find hard to believe anyone even asked for? Built all the maps for lancer play, there is virtually no close quarter combat now which imo made gears gears...that's just the tip of the iceberg. They basically catered to casuals and got rid of any skill gap that there ever was. It's a joke really, which is why I deleted it and went back to 4

I have a feeling this is all too true, I will wait for the game to come out but once it is out and I can see some reviews and some actual game play footage I will probably buy it, I love single player story driven games... I play an MMO but I play it alone and for the story 90% of the time, and wish they'd make single player games for it again...
EA has always done that. They always done these stupid things to get money, then throw out a gem every once in a while to make people happy. Mass effect, dragon age, the sims and fifa(personally not a fan of sports games but it is an extremely popular game) are all EA games.

I just replay KotoR 1 and 2. I refuse to hand EA anymore of my money, and only have Origin installed to play ME series, KotoR, and Dragon Age origins. (disc installs now require Origin to input CD keys)

I just want Star Wars Skyrim. A large game where you can be a bounty hunter, Jedi, Sith, Grey Jedi, and a lot more. You could eventually become the Jedi Grandmaster just like Yoda was. Maybe it could be based after the First Order vs. Resistance time period.

prob will be if players have enough faith in it anymore, could just as easily be showing only what people want to see, or even more so EA could just do what Activision did with BO4 and not have lootboxes in at launch and just wait till the reviews come or wait till they've made their money back and then add them to the game in DLCs.

On one hand, I can use my money to show EA they're wrong by purchasing their single player game (and they won't listen and continue raping customers and closing studios).

Life is too short for that. I'm not passing on a good game in some gesture to try to hurt EA. EA probably isn't going anywhere in my lifetime. If it's good I'll buy it. My personal entertainment is the only thing that matters.

@The Lavian That's probably true. It's still an egregious mistake considering everything he's saying is wrong with EA are the direct result of Andrew Wilson's ideas. The idea to put loot boxes and microtransactions into their games made them so much money that they eventually made him head of the company. He should know what he looks like.
Dice really recovered Battlefront 2 though. It's actually good now. Because EA let them try to fix it, and they really did.

I hear a lot of people predicting that EA will roll out the micro transactions a month after it launches. Of course, the depths of EA depravity knows no bounds, but I actually don't think it will happen in this case. First of all, after the debacle of Battlefront II, I wouldn't be surprised if Disney demanded that they leave the micro transactions out. Right now, Disney does not want any more bad press around Star Wars. Also, this sort of game probably wouldn't pull in that much cash from microtransactions compaired to a "live service" anyway.

@@notgray88 I guess, it depends? If it's something like this where a lot of people are watching, if its gonna fail or not (I mean it's EA), you can pretty much get it whether the game is good or bad in that time span.
@@C1nnam0n09 let's say you buy a multiplayer game in the first 2 weeks because of hype, then the multiplayer community suddenly dies off. Let's say suddenly after those 2 weeks, a company decides to just completely ruin a game after everyone has already bought it. For example with paid DLC when they said DLC would be free. I just don't trust companies enough to give them money unless they prove that the game will still be enjoyable a year later. Besides, you save a lot of money buying games for $30 dollars rather than $60.

But for me that just isn't enough. I'll see how the game turns out and if it looks good then I'll pick it up.

@@DanielFrost79 yeah I just don't play next gen games I had a PS4 at one point but because of my stupid junkie father at the time, I only had the console a better part of 7 weeks, which was enough time to beat Diablo III reaper of souls which was the only game I had for the system, because he stole and pawned it, and it was a Christmas gift from my grandmother, so I guess I can thank my dad for doing me a favor by getting rid of a console that would eventually fall victim to shitty games and micro transactions. No offense by the way it's just with all of the news on games that made me want another PS4, made me go back to the last gen before the 360 and PS3 and the 16 bit gen consoles, where games feel like games without pay walls and dumb company decisions. I really need to shut up.
@@bretbret8293 I figured that to. It's nothing like the game it was two years ago. It's made a real comeback I feel. Still not perfect, but it's getting there slowly if they continue support. Which they've already confirmed support throughout 2020.

Honestly I’m surprised ea hasn’t made a destiny style Star Wars game with bounty hunters. Think about it, destiny has made tons of money, ya it has expensive ass dlc(which is the one thing I think they shouldn’t put in the game if it was to be made), but even without the dlc the game still has tons of content and it’s player base is huge. Personally I think this would be a great idea, it fits with Star Wars’ theme and I know a lot of people who would want this game, so if ea wants to make a multiplayer based Star Wars game than I think this would be their best bet aside from a battlefront game(a good one) in not just a financial view, but in a view of pleasing the fans.

Boomer Bomb I think expecting EA to change by buying Fallen Order is a fool’s errand. They’ll either move the goalposts to make its failure a self-fulfilling prophecy or just keep up business as usual for all other games while expecting massive growth for the sequel that Respawn won’t be able to meet.

Jesus man you been under a rock? God of war, the uncharted series, the last of us, LA Noir, assasins creed, the walking dead, the Infamous series, Bioshock and plenty others are all single player driven narratives, you need to play more games

It happens with Tyler a lot more than most, to be honest; he's in this rare group of new-style reviewers that kind of seem out of their depth when it comes to what they try to do. Sad, I bailed when the content became way too clickbaity and derivative, checked back in during the "you're right, I gotta change"-thing but wanted to wait it out, and now I randomly check back in and lo: the content is back to the (lack of) quality it was previously. Oh well.
