It's kind of stupid to relegate an entire continent to being in a state of helplessness. A burger has nothing to do with their financial situations and all McDonald's wanted to do was celebrate their culinary culture. I bet they even thought the virtue signalers would applaud them, but nope. Virtue signalers just want to be the saviors and are always looking for hapless organizations to villainize.

There's so much information conveyed through simple one line phrases in that way "there are children starving in africa" is designed to convey the information as simply and concisely as possible to a child to help them understand that there exists great poverty in the world and they shouldn't waste food. Unfortunately these sayings parents use to teach their children tend to condense the information far too much and so they don't really understand the message so much as they are conditioned to behave appropriately by it. The golden rule is so simplified. "treat others as you want to be treated" but what isn't explicitly stated is the brilliant subtext to that statement which is that a societal norm is made up of individual behavior so you actually need to treat people as you wish to be treated in order to help proliferate that manner of treating people in the hopes that it becomes a social norm and then it will actually be how you are treated as well. It's the actual solution to dissempowering destructive societal trends but the phrase "treat others how you want to be treated" tends to just get interpreted as "be nice to others" which strips it of so much meaning.
