what i love about PMJ is that in every video, each individual musician just seems so in love with what they're doing and it reminds me of why music is so special
Scott Bradlee's arrangement just seems to unlock the very soul of this song, and Kiah Victoria's performance is bursting with joy. Her crystal clear voice is something to behold. Glorious.
I want to let you know that my wife and I used this song for our first dance at our wedding. We love this song and it will have a special place in our hearts forever! Thank you keep up the good work!
No I mean I'm used the other drummer with the afro. When I started watching them, I almost always saw him. Now with this guy I just refer to him as the 'new guy'.
i love how so many people who perform on this channel be it lead or backing vocals, or musician are so naturally animated and enjoying themselves so much, love the energy
You know, one of the reasons I really like PMJ is that every single one of the performers seem like real people. Nobody is saved by a talented engineer, no slick packaging. Nothing but great music by folks who clearly love what they are doing.
Good music is built on solid foundations and that's what's going on in this piece. Asmeret and Mykal are a monster backup team, Seth and Adam are doing a killer harmony bass line while you and Chip are a rock solid, super tight music & rhythm team (honestly, I suspect the two of you are telepathic). In concert, you gave Kiah wings to soar above it all. Nicely done!
Kiah Victoria has got it. Not just the vocals, but the spirit. It seemed to me that she was connected to her lyrics on a deeper level than just performance. She was in the moment. It moved me. Damn.
I must say, my sister in law passed away about 3 years ago and this was her favorite song and to hear it remade in my favorite era is amazing!! wanderful job!! saxophone part was amazing also!!
These people are giving all the music lovers in the world an ever-expanding perfect present - songs we may or may not have liked initially, lifted out of their original recording style and re-presented in a style we already know that we love. Respect to Scott Bradlee for having had one of those landmark 'simple but brilliant' ideas. And... can't wait to see you guys on 11th Feb in Edinburgh. Bring it on!!! :-)
This is probably my favorite cover on PMJ! I was really surprised to hear the original and how different it was! Great song overall but you can't deny her superb vocals
I cannot believe how much I love this video! Sometimes when I hear a PMJ song covering one that I know extremely well it takes me a few listens to hear the heart of the PMJ cover, and I'm glad I kept trying this gem out! I adore Kiah Victoria's voice! More Kiah, more Kiah!! I hope she comes on the US tour! I'd just about die if I got to hear this and All Of Me! Way to go, Scott and all PMJer's!!!
I was just part of your tour as a nameless face in the crowd in Manchester and I was loving it. I gave my friend the tickets for her birthday and even though she didn't know the PMJ before, she is a fan now. Good job, guys!
+diezweimarsmenschen So glad that you and your friend had a great time! Have you thought about coming back to our concert together in Manchester in March!? You can get tickets on our website! postmodernjukebox.com/events/
Easily one of my favorite covers of this song. I know everyone loves the Iron and Wine version but I never found that it really captured the essence of the song, which is how happy and content and practically giddy the speaker is. But mixing it with the Jackson 5 is really brilliant!
These videos are the definition of synergy. The leads are amazing and the backup always fits and cosign the lead just right. Then the instrumentalists are outright talented with a great sound never overshadowing the vocalists.
This has to be one of the best collective vocals...very complimentary to one another ....man I can't believe how much talent postmodern jukebox find....these amateurs are better than the so called pop stars of today....great job
Can I just say I am in awe, utter awe, with the amount of raw talent? Can't wait until y'all are here in Europe. Trying to figure out the travel plans now! Wow. Simply Wow.
This is SO SICK!!!!!! I LOVEC POST MODERN JUKE BOX AND THE SINGER SOUNDS SOOOOOO CLASSIC!!!! also The dude backupsinger kinda looks like wayne brady haha
This song has been on repeat , ever since I discovered it . Love ! Love! Love this song ! Upset that i cant make it to the concert in Atl ! Kiah Victoria's Voice ! Oh my !
I really liked this one! I like when the song itself can sound like it stands on its own and not just like a cover. Some songs the style is very close to your cover, so they nearly are identical. And HELLO key change at 2:30!!
Actually, to be more precise you hear the dominant of the relative minor dominant at 2:30 (C minor), followed by the tonic of the relative minor (F minor), and then a modulation back to the home key of Ab major. But this modulation to the relative minor isn't new. It's been occurring throughout if you listen again.
Imre Degenhart If you're going to describe a single song they've covered as "adding a twist," then you're definitely not appreciating their music to the extent it deserves.
Scott talks about this song in his book, "Outside the Jukebox." He said Kiah had people out of their seats and dancing throughout the European tour. (page 166)
Came across this today, think I have listened to it about 5 times. You have just blown my mind with this version...holy crap what an wonderful version...crank it up baby over and over again!!
This is actually a kind of old song now. The Postal Service only stayed together for one album after which one of their singers went and became the lead for Death Cab for Cutie. I highly recommend that album though. Really good stuff
Haruko Haruhara Actually it was a side project. They used to mail their ideas, lyrics, samples, and etc back and forth hence "The Postal Service." Greatest imaginary band ever! (they call themselves an imaginary band) ha But the album is excellent. Highly recommended
Postal Service isn't a pop band. It was a small band that started when two friends, one in California, one in New York, would send each other samples just for fun. They couldn't think of a name so they are the "Postal Service" because of the distance. They broke up in 2005 and rumors are they're working on a second album now..
hallikittylover Pop is a genre of music and how a band is formed doesn't mean it isn't pop. That being said I'm not sure I would describe The Postal Service as pop.
Haruko Haruhara Actually, I'm pretty sure this was an almagamation of several members of different bands, including folk and electronic. It was the hipster collaboration before the hipster genre existed. If you have the opportunity, I'd say check out each individual band as each has their own style and tastes that you find they used later when doing The Postal Service. Two bands are very popular today but I don't think any are considered Pop. Bands are: DNTEL, Figurine, Death Cab For Cutie, Rilo Kiley, and Jenny Lewis and the Watson Twins (some of the members overlap).
I'n thinking its sign that the freckles in our eyes are mirror images and when we kiss they are perfectly alligned I have to speculate that god himself didn't make us into corresponding shapes like puzzle pieces from the clay And true, it may seem like a stretch, But its thoughts like this that catch My troubled head when you're away When I am missing you to death When you are out there on the road For several weeks of shows And when you scan the radio, I hope this song will guide you home They will see us waving from such great heights, "Come down now, " they'll say But everything looks perfect from far away, "Come down now, " but we'll stay: End I tried my best to leave This all on your machine But the persistent beat it sounded thin Upon listening And that frankly will not fly. They will see us waving from such great heights, "Come down now."

I have heard thus voice!, it is...! The woman who sang 'all of me'!!!. Yeah! That's right! I swear that's my favorite song! I like this song too! She is really good at becoming one with songs. I always cheer you, farewell!
what i love about PMJ is that in every video, each individual musician just seems so in love with what they're doing and it reminds me of why music is so special
Phoebe Parkin 120% agree
No glam pop. Just pure music.
Imagine going to your job and loving it that much.
Scott Bradlee's arrangement just seems to unlock the very soul of this song, and Kiah Victoria's performance is bursting with joy. Her crystal clear voice is something to behold. Glorious.
AMEN!!
he seemed to forgot to unlock the intro though
I want to let you know that my wife and I used this song for our first dance at our wedding. We love this song and it will have a special place in our hearts forever! Thank you keep up the good work!
I can never focus with this new drummer. He's pretty cute and he constantly giggles and smiles. It's the cutest thing every time.
Not new drummer. He played with PMJ for long time now.
No I mean I'm used the other drummer with the afro. When I started watching them, I almost always saw him. Now with this guy I just refer to him as the 'new guy'.
I know. He's new for me. Old for others. Diabolus in Musica
He's just happy to be unlocked.
PMJ is perhaps the best thing that happened to music in this decade...
With respect to non-classical music i definitely would agree.
😁oh yes!!cant wait to watch them.live;/
I agree with you 100%!
What I was thinking
No way, they play great versions of other bands music but there’s so much great music out there.
Don’t give up on new music🙃
She's one of my favorite singers of PMJ. She sounds amazing, and she's so into the music. Love it.
This is my good-mood jam. Whenever I hear it it instantly lifts my mood and puts a smile on my face.
Going to Appell Theater in York PA Sunday to see them with my daughter. So excited.
This might be my favorite one. I really love Joey Cooks covers, but...
This is just so perfect.
And not just from far away.
In love with the energy of the backing vocalists, and Kiah makes my heart melt
i love how so many people who perform on this channel be it lead or backing vocals, or musician are so naturally animated and enjoying themselves so much, love the energy
You know, one of the reasons I really like PMJ is that every single one of the performers seem like real people. Nobody is saved by a talented engineer, no slick packaging. Nothing but great music by folks who clearly love what they are doing.
I have to second you on that.
you could live like a queen off the richness of her voice! love everything about this. thanks, PMJ.
+Knox1013 This girl can really sing!!
Good music is built on solid foundations and that's what's going on in this piece. 2:19 is such a blissful moment. I can listen to that section over and over again! Amazing chord changes!!!!! ScottBradleeLovesYa
Aren't they great! Straight from Jackson 5's I Want You Back!
This is honestly THE version of the song for me. It just has that SOUL that I need
I must say, my sister in law passed away about 3 years ago and this was her favorite song and to hear it remade in my favorite era is amazing!! wanderful job!! saxophone part was amazing also!!

Someone please give this man an award for the best comment on here! well said! Marc Kozlowski
I have to listen to this once a day, its so good
Same here
I'm bad, I find myself listening to this on multiple rotations at least once a week lol
+Kirsten Haley , Yep. Its a great " getting ready" song. Jackson 5 slide dancing and everything! lol
on third time due to checking response notification lol
I got to see PMJ perform on tour in Charlotte this past summer! packed venue!!
This is probably my favorite cover on PMJ! I was really surprised to hear the original and how different it was! Great song overall but you can't deny her superb vocals
To this day, this is still one of PMJB's greatest and most underrated songs!
Whoa, I didn't expect this because it's not really a popular song, but I couldn't be happier! More indie stuff please!
It plays ten million times a day in every coffee shop in America.
And probably the #3 most played song by beginning guitarists.
My favorite PMJ cover
OMG this woman is amazing! I love her voice
I listen to this song for two years and TODAY (1:34pm/13:34) I COULD THE THE PIANO GUY'S LEG!
One of my favourite from PMJ. It’s just so joyful 😀
She is AMAZING but the backing singers are out of this world, they have an amazing vocal range! Super super super
This remains my favorite song y'all ever did, changed my life, thank you forever for existing.
the two background vocals are so cute and in sync with their dancing lol
I cannot believe how much I love this video! Sometimes when I hear a PMJ song covering one that I know extremely well it takes me a few listens to hear the heart of the PMJ cover, and I'm glad I kept trying this gem out! I adore Kiah Victoria's voice! More Kiah, more Kiah!! I hope she comes on the US tour! I'd just about die if I got to hear this and All Of Me! Way to go, Scott and all PMJer's!!!
Brilliant wow what a cover
she's gorgeous and so talented
+Ishani Mitra Montreal is gonna knock your socks off!
+PostmodernJukebox ready for it! :D
+PostmodernJukebox My master plan! Gonna tie them with barbed wire, try to knock those off!
How was the Montreal concert? I was very disappointed I couldn't make it. This song is one of my top PMJ covers.
how did I live 46 years w/o Scott Bradlee and PMJ? Could watch this (and so many other of these videos) over and over. Just amazing.
I was just part of your tour as a nameless face in the crowd in Manchester and I was loving it. I gave my friend the tickets for her birthday and even though she didn't know the PMJ before, she is a fan now. Good job, guys!

It's been 5 years and this is still my fav cover of this song!
Edit: it has now been 9 years. This is still true!
These videos are the definition of synergy. The leads are amazing and the backup always fits and cosign the lead just right. Then the instrumentalists are outright talented with a great sound never overshadowing the vocalists.
Too awesome. Backup vocalists killed it too
Taken a so so song and made it great.
she is effing beautiful, and they're all freakin talented
EVERYTHING IS PERFECT FROM PMJ
+Buyung Kha Thank you for your lovely words! We aim to please :)
+PostmodernJukebox I have an idea when ever you type in the comments type it like the dialect of the era and time.
+DickinaBox AGREE with that.
so fucking good
@@postmodernjukebox I liked the original, and never was much into 60's oldies - and I find myself loving this arrangement, and the artist.
Drummer is really enjoying playing the song. Keep on drumming mate!
hooooo boy that modulation at 2:27 unfffffffff
Wonderful version, just brilliant job by everyone.
WOW....What a fabulous Showcase of Talent ...PMJ
I am totally in love with the drummer in EVERY video!!! He is just feeling it...
Ahhhhhhh! You took the ideas right out of my head: Postal Service cover song!!!!
Five years later, this is still one of my favourites. Kiah Victoria smashes this out of the park. Would love to hear her again with the PMJ team.
2021 still listening this marvelous song ❤️❤️❤️
How do you always find beautiful ladies to sing and they sing so perfectly? I am amazed
That bari sounds great
PMJ just leaves me with the biggest, goofiest smile on my face. LOVE YOU GUYS!
I think this is my favorite so far! I didn't think it would work, but you guys knocked it out of the park!
This has to be one of the best collective vocals...very complimentary to one another ....man I can't believe how much talent postmodern jukebox find....these amateurs are better than the so called pop stars of today....great job
Какая красивая пара выступает в беквокале, особенно девушка выразительна и хороша :) И вообще, номер хорош. Спасибо!
Can I just say I am in awe, utter awe, with the amount of raw talent? Can't wait until y'all are here in Europe. Trying to figure out the travel plans now! Wow. Simply Wow.
This cover makes me very happy. Amazing performance!
This is SO SICK!!!!!! I LOVEC POST MODERN JUKE BOX AND THE SINGER SOUNDS SOOOOOO CLASSIC!!!! also The dude backupsinger kinda looks like wayne brady haha
I love her voice!!! It's so beautiful!!
I have never heard this song before. I'm loving how all the different elements mesh so well together.
My FAVORITE one from PMJ
Every time I hear this it gets better. I've heard this quite a few times too! Simply amazing.
Just woke up and listen to this. Good way to start the day :)
this is a great morning song!! ferdynand2402
This song has been on repeat , ever since I discovered it . Love ! Love! Love this song ! Upset that i cant make it to the concert in Atl ! Kiah Victoria's Voice ! Oh my !
Well, that was ambitious... and amazing. Thanks so much!
This is one of my favorite songs covered by PMJ. I'm In love with this. Her voice is pure glory. Absolutely searching for more of her work.
I challenge you to do a my chemical romance song in any retro style if you have not already
God, yes! Helena, please!
I think Helena would be easiest to work with. I would die if he did it.
How about welcome to the black parade
Yes black parade!! 😄
Yes! Helena in a 40's swing style would be insane
I really liked this one! I like when the song itself can sound like it stands on its own and not just like a cover. Some songs the style is very close to your cover, so they nearly are identical. And HELLO key change at 2:30!!

I'm usually content with you guys taking passable songs and making amazing covers of them, now you're taking amazing songs too?
nub
Uh no... They just cover songs they like and they think they can give a twist to...
Palmstar125 I don't think you understood the joke
Imre Degenhart If you're going to describe a single song they've covered as "adding a twist," then you're definitely not appreciating their music to the extent it deserves.
PossumCuber hahaha they are changing the game. oh wait, they already have!!
This is such a huge contrast in tone, but it works so well. Love it.
She's gorgeous!
I just can't stop listening and dancing to this song!! Perfect mixture with kiah and jackson 5-style!! More please!!!
this is such an underrated performance
Yes. Just YES. You go Scott Bradlee and the Post Modern Jukebox!!!
Scott talks about this song in his book, "Outside the Jukebox." He said Kiah had people out of their seats and dancing throughout the European tour. (page 166)
LOVE HER VOCAL RANGE!!!! She has such control I love it!!!
what a classic. love the cover
Jesus there is actual talent on this channel! Finally some good music.
Seth Rogen is fantastic on the sax👍🏽
I'm glad I'm not the only one who love this like you did! Go SETH!
Came across this today, think I have listened to it about 5 times. You have just blown my mind with this version...holy crap what an wonderful version...crank it up baby over and over again!!
I never know pop songs till they come here

WILL ALWAYS BE ONE OF MY FAVORITE COVERS. I listen to it on the cd all the time 💙💙
2:19- 2:31, I SWOON. Would have been a great place to fade, but I'm still very happy with it
Fantastic...everything about in it! In particular their DICTION. Great to be able to decipher every word.
When I saw the title I was like ????? How would those two work????
The answer is awesome when done by PMJ. :)
Guru Laghima the xover i didn't know i needed til i herd ir
It is impossible to not enjoy this music! I could listen to this group all day great job guys!
This song has been responsible for me buying a bari sax. I'm so broke but so happy!
Super rythme et super voix et j'aime le batteur !!!
I want to dance to this at my wedding!
My favorite PMJ cover. Wow
I'n thinking its sign
that the freckles in our eyes are mirror images and
when we kiss they are perfectly alligned
I have to speculate that god himself
didn't make us into corresponding shapes
like puzzle pieces from the clay
And true, it may seem like a stretch,
But its thoughts like this that catch
My troubled head when you're away
When I am missing you to death
When you are out there on the road
For several weeks of shows
And when you scan the radio,
I hope this song will guide you home
They will see us waving from such great heights,
"Come down now, " they'll say
But everything looks perfect from far away,
"Come down now, " but we'll stay: End
I tried my best to leave
This all on your machine
But the persistent beat it sounded thin
Upon listening
And that frankly will not fly.
You will hear the shrillest highs
And lowest lows with the windows down
When this is guiding you home
They will see us waving from such great heights,
"Come down now."
They will see us waving from such great heights,
"Come down now."
When she sings "freckles in your eyes" on that high note, I feel so happy for some reason ^^
YESH THIS IS MY FAVORITE SONG AND YOU GUYS DID IT AWESOME THANKS
though I'd prefer a different style but whatever, awesome
I originally just scrolled through the comments and see if someone had posted the lyrics. To my surprise I see negative comments? Are you serious? Everything was perfect!! The energy, the feel, the sound OMG! I became an instant fan of PMJ!!!
Love the backing vocals! Also that bari sax sounds amazing what brand/model is it! 😮
ONE OF MY FAVORITE SONGS TURNED INTO ONE OF MY FAVORITE STYLES. This is so creative. And genius. Love love love.
Is it me or does she look really similar to the actress that plays Daenerys in game of thrones? Loved the cover!!
I'm glad I wasn't the only one thinking that
She's really hot basically
For some reason i had Janice from the muppets instead.
+Jaqueline Gonzalez You mean Rastafarian Targaryen?
+Jaqueline Gonzalez she really does
I have heard thus voice!, it is...! The woman who sang 'all of me'!!!. Yeah! That's right!
I swear that's my favorite song!
I like this song too! She is really good at becoming one with songs.
I always cheer you, farewell!
all hail Seth the awesome Bari player!
neeeeeever would have thought that the postal service would be combined with jackson 5. you guys continue to be such a pleasant surprise.
