The thought of these main characters living full lives together and passing away in old age kind of warms the heart and makes me sad at the same time (knowing they die).

I haven't even watched the show yet and from these short I'm already feeling that. When a series brings that up that our beloved characters die it makes me feel sad but completed. Knowing they will die some day is 1 thing, but them showing us it happening is so very different.

It actually hurts me how realistic stuff like people passing feels in Mushoku tensei, I get sad and tear up every time I think about Rudeus and Eris dying even if it's in times of peace and from old age.
Honestly, reading through the last few chapters was like a repeating punch to the gut as the people we got to know for so long pass away. Combine that with the feeling we all get when we reach the end of a good story, and you get me tearing up trying not to be loud in my college dorm room at 2 AM when my roommate is trying to sleep.

Nanahoshi's friend will be the protagonist, because he's the Hero that's supposed to come in the future. Hopefully Nanahoshi gets unfrozen too at the time. Right now since her story was not concluded, it might look like she had a fate worse than death.

Ngl, the last redundancy chapter got me really sad. Without discussing that Lara wanted to leave without even saying goodbye, when she said "Don't worry Papa, I won't let all of your efforts go to waste" got me. She isn't really leaving for herself. She started everything pretty much (when Hitogami targeted her specifically) and is leaving to fulfill her destiny, not necessarily because she wants to but because she has to and, in the process, that was the last time she's ever gonna see her dad and Red Mama (maybe she sees him in Hitogami's world though)... It got me really sad for both parts, every child left them, they're alone for the first time.
Thats kinda sad that Sylphie and Roxy are actually long living creatures, when they will be in early adult age then Eris and Rudeus will die long time ago because they are simple humans.

Granted, they didn't rule out King Vida instigating the plague as the diarrhea from the Sokusa tea included blue slime but the mana levels in that forest was much higher than the demon continent, Begerrit or the heaven continent. I guess the question is how high a mana concentration is high enough as all forests had high enough mana levels for Treants to form and of course ancient teleportation circles took advantage of such high mana locations but it was "highest mana levels" that was mentioned as being sought.
Hitogami is not evil for doing that, his survival rate basically depends on Roxy's child not being born. E.g I tell you to kill a specific person, or you will die 5 years later. What would you do? Kill him or accept your death? And you have to assume you are living in a world where killing and getting killed is a common thing, and also that you will have no repercussion aka getting arrested (because we are assuming Hitogami's perspective here)
