the camera that shot the moon landing is NOT H6D, its a 500EL modified by Hasselblad for NASA which never released to public. and 12 of those 500EL that was left on the moon probably worths quite a lot than 47k. lots of those older photos were also probably shot by a V system camera rather than the 47k H6D in the H system.
If hype is about putting a "expensive price" through and through, then i'd suggest making videos on Arri lights

Like driving vintage Porsche, the operation of the camera and all the sounds it makes are amazing and a step above any other camera in my experience. Having fun is a great ingredient for making good photographs. It is crazy how the film cameras have appreciated in price since I bought mine 17 years ago. I almost wonder whether Hasselblad should fire up that 501CM production line again. After all, Leica still makes film cameras.

The script was written quite badly. Beside the fact that hassleblad once can operate in the rigor of space. What else beside this video is not marketing hyperbole.
So what is behins the hype? Because the video is all about the hype. If you want to talk about how good the camera is...Talk about the sensor, the pixel itself, the lights, the image quality and the difference it has. Analysis it deeper . Educate on a deeper level if your title is behind the hype.
A camera is not good just because it took Obama photos. That is superficial at best. You are doing Hassleblad an disservice.
Because similary Arri Cinema camera which have the same price range it actually is build like a tank suited for the rigors of movie production. A movie is not great solely because of the camera it just helps get it done easier.

One of the distinguishing features that Hasselblad offers is medium format. In this regard I think they've got a fair bit of competition nowadays. Replicating the feel of a camera is another thing entirely. I know that on quite a few Hasselblad cameras the shutter is in the lens for example, a design feature that is quite unique particularly today, that alone makes their entire system quite proprietary, and that really increases the cost of their lenses. I'd love to use one and see for myself what all the fuss is about.

Rodrigo Crousillat yes but a lot of people get Leica nowadays for the clout. I’ve had my m6 for a good few years now and it’s nearly tripled in value.. people buy because it’s fashionable, the film community has many people like this in. I saved YEARS for my m6, I’d wanted one since childhood, buying was a great feeling but I hear so many people who just get into photography talk about buying an m6. Go look at the Leica subreddit, so many relatively new people to photography buy Leica. Not to gatekeep a brand but you should defo have some technical knowledge before spending so much on a fully manual camera!!!

@@ErrickJackson Do you think you could do it 'blind'?
Character has more to do with the lens then the camera itself. Any RAW image can be manipulated to look like anything really. The main difference would be the dynamic range. I'm sure side by side you could see a small difference. But in all these examples shown in this video, if they were shot on FF, the story would be identical to the views.
Nobody cares what camera you have, just the photographer and his attachment to how much he paid for it.

I do see a lot of pictures that have the supposed medium format quality, that are just really staged studio photos that would look very similar in full frame. That said, medium format cameras have certain abilities with micro contrast and color that seem just out of reach of FF. I think the most compelling reason to buy a medium format camera is if you need tons of resolution for really large prints. That said, if you can afford it and don't need the speed that full frame cameras provide, medium format is probably also worth it for pro portrait and landscape photographers that demand the best quality possible.

    • @chrisklugh
      @chrisklugh 4 ปีที่แล้ว

@@waawaaweewaa2045 Comparing FF with Medium is probably very similar to comparing APC with FF. Yes there are differences. But story is king. And the best camera is the one you have with you. Cell phones are monopolizing the photos people see.
Don't get me wrong, as a pixel peeper, I do like my bigger senor cameras over my smaller ones. However, I'd rather have something I can carry with me always and capture shots I would never have considered bringing my larger cameras for.
Small sensors don't monopolize the industry because they have great image quality, they monopolize because its easier to have them ready when a story breaks out. There are times I would not want to risk my $5k camera, let alone a $50k camera when my $500 camera does the job.

I feel it's very hard to justify the cost of a H6D these days. Though that may because I don't have the money for one, however the X1D shares the same sensor as the Fuji and while Hassleblad lenses are great Fuji are coming on leaps and bounds with AF.

@@westonharby165 the image quality on a leica is good *for a 35mm* it simply cant compete with a much larger negative. of course this depends on your print size, 8x10 you wont notice much of a diff but anything bigger than that you can tell there is a loss in quality. 35mm film will also have bigger, more noticeable noise, which will make the image look less sharp.

Weston Harby arguably? Nah, you literally can’t compare 35 to 120, the size of the negative alone is just much better quality. An m6 with any Leica lens on is fantastic but a Bronica will beat it in resolution. Comparing 35 to 120 is apples to oranges.
