What is so wrong with being Martha?

Many preachers and teacher alike, have used the story of Mary and Martha in Luke chapter 10, to teach on the righteousness of Mary. In their teachings they condemn Martha and paint her as the bad sister, the busy one, the unholy one. But to use only one text of scripture has meant that our view of Martha has narrowed and being obstructed by bad theology and loosely constructed sermons.
In this teaching, I ask the question "what's wrong with being Martha?" It's a necessary question and an important one. To unpack the various scriptures that contain messages about her life, give us a bigger picture of her faithful devotion to the Messiah. To do anything less is to rob Martha of her rightful place as a devoted follower, a faithful servant and living testimony to a life changed through servanthood.
