    Apex predator? Thats the problem with my salespeople. They all want what they want, but the key to success in sales is listening and meeting the needs of your customer. Predatory behavior leads to bad blood and i want to sleep well at night

    • @Antonocon
      @Antonocon 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +11

      The people who care about other people and listen to what the customer wants, leave sales because of the type of salespeople you are speaking about above. I loved sales and made my first sale on my first call after 2.5 minutes on the phone, after being in the company just 30 minutes and not even meant to be talking to customers that day. My trainer just asked me if I'd like to try speaking to a customer. Many people on that team had not made a sale in one or two days. I didn't know the price or the details of the product. What I found incredible in sales though was the toxicity and bitterness of some other sales people. I was in the field for about 9 years but have since left. Too many toxic types like you mention above. The field is still in medieval times in my opinion. The wrong sort of people are hired for sales. It should always be about the customer first. Most sales people just want to dominate other sales people and dominate the customer.

    • @Ben-nj3lv
      @Ben-nj3lv 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

      Totally agree. Sales should be more about customer service, thoroughly understanding and then meeting their needs rather than customer manipulation we commonly see in that field of work. I also quit and am now a much happier gardener with my dogs, don’t miss the office psychos at all.

      Which is why the best salespeople ive ever witnessed, in a big biotech company, were women.
      Ego can just demolish a man and men can be very territorial to the end.
      Women can be as well but they tend to back down when theyre told that theyre behaving as such, men dont.
      So for me as a department VP and manager of personalities, women made up 70% of my sales force and were outstanding.
      My BEST two salespeople were men but they were very uncommon and i couldnt gear my hiring towards men because of their low success percentages.

    A lot of the psychopaths on the seal teams did not make it through selection process on their own merits. The Admirals helped them through selection so a lot of the psychopaths really aren’t and should not be there. This is why SEAL team six actually weeds out the psychopaths who can not be trusted; you can be a straight up stud and bad ass without being a psychopath from my observation of psychopaths when they are in a negative situation they run to mommy or daddy. They are not as Apex predacious as you think. The military actually looks for INTJs who are the balanced predator. Were psychopaths are an imbalanced toddler or more precisely a baby of about 1 to 2 months old.

    A lot to think about in this small clip. A year or two ago a friend asked me how much power I wanted. He's a clever guy and kept saying "it's good to be king." I recognized the Mel Brooks quote, but got the movie wrong. In the original reference, the lesson is that kings live in a world where MANY people are just waiting for the right moment to chop their heads off.
    Do I want power so badly that I want that risk, stress, and distraction? Would more of my life's goals be completed if I focused on production and let others take the glory? Can I find an apex predator who is mature enough to know that they should be helping me reach my potential to maximize my utility?
    On the other hand, should we allow the unarmed, apex predators to become so powerful, that the well-armed government appears to largely be a group of laughable fools to them? Isn't the system supposed to able to keep those apex predators in check? The thing that Chris didn't mention in that clip is their finding that once a population's number of sociopath/psychopath's gets above 3-5%, that society tends to collapse. What then is the impact on our society when people with high measures in these traits amass a great deal of power?

    14:00 the rule, in math is never divide by zero, and not because it will lead to ruin, rather it is considered non-existence.
    Any integer divided by zero = error
    Multiplying by zero is analogous to chasing one’s own tail, which means leading to nowhere, including ruin.

    • @Dios_nysos
      @Dios_nysos 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      and I’ll add to this, that I disagree with OP entirely regarding this “never multiply by zero”…sorry this rule doesn’t translate well in all realms.
      In life, you get what you focus on, regardless of polar charge. What this means, is if you focus on the things to avoid, the universe will grant you those very things.

    Apex predators are animals that hunt game. ... Successful people, on the other hand, create products and services that benefit others. When your customers/clients become your prey that's when you lose them. Being a predator is the opposite of running a successful business unless your business is being a mafia hitman.
    Honestly, Bustamante could not have ranked very high in the CIA.

Those people are dangerous! Those people are the Hitlers of the world! True psychopaths! You can be decisive and strong & not be a predator. Strong willed, smart, and adaptable people should lead but they don’t have to be cruel or prey on others… those are just shit psychos and if anyone claims to be a apex predator is a threat to society and the problem with the world! Many are highly patriotic for example. However.....IF you find and train these ultra-rare people, you can't overuse them without damaging them. Then, after hundreds of missions conducted at an insane, relentless tempo, they crack and start taking war trophies or something. Then we point our fingers and say omg, what monsters! But they weren't, the powers that be overused them, broke them. Politicians like SOCOM as it's more secret, contained, deniable. Dead US soldiers? Sorry, can't tell you, top secret and all that..... We do not elect leaders, we elect representatives of our culture and beliefs not those imposed upon us by tyrants or would do us harm that as you see in con artists weak minded wanna be's like the current administration.
      George Washington, Paul Revere ,John Hancock and the rest risked everything, their lives, liberty, property that fought the ruling class and gave others that right to freedom and rule of law to be fair for all. There were fighters within but what are they fighting, what result that makes the difference. They didn't get paid to do someone else's bidding, lie deceive censor for another country or some nut with money to make more money and power for adversaries at our country's expense by the. printing spending the taxing for bribes. They fought against that. Those brave colonists Obama resented while his ancestors were being ruled or on a hut in Africa and compared to Europe but we we're nothing like Europe and it's monarchs but fighting against totalairian rule.thst would have hanged them. Only difference is they won but at a cost. They today lost their way and even fighters of the past see it. Those who just want to be dependent on government and will give up those freedoms or a illusion of security others fought for as one of the framers said deserve neither freedom or security because that's what will be the result. They warned us not to get involved with these other countries or their never ending wars.
      Here there are no rulers, only wanna be's and green eyed monsters on the side lines, they're supposed to representing the citizens not ruling over or against the citizens. The current government produces or builds nothing, the people do, they just consume from those who do. it's going to come crashing down because of them.
      Might not have Trump around to soften the blow this time so if not have your grab bag ready. people are already stretched too far because of these parasitic corrupt self absorbed idiots. They're white shoe boy groupie snobs than never get their hands dirty not tribal but wanna be you will own nothing slave drivers.

    The idea that "people are tribal animals" and "need a tribal elder" does not obviate the idea that people are much more so collectively interdependent and largely empathetic creatures (read 98% NOT psychopaths) Also, "I'd rather have more psychopaths on my team than somebody else's" is one of the more myopic things I've ever heard on TH-cam. For real: a team of psychopaths is by definition not your bloody team - it's THEIRS. And the psychopaths on your team are all gathering around your bloody corpse to celebrate your demise because THAT's what psychopaths do... This is your "fantastic conclusion" lmfao...
    Also, yeah Navy SEALs have a lot of psychopaths in their ranks, but this may be at least in part a defect in their selection process. Apropos to my point other branches try to weed that element out because even among those modern Vikings that kind of behavior is actually counterproductive. SEALs and other operators like this have to operate under some kind of moral framework otherwise they're just animals. And we're not animals right? Right?? p.s. Prides don't vote. Lions are not all that succesful as a species frankly because the way they operate is by strength and violence alone. (They certainly inspire lame analogies to psychopathy though)

    Listen, these two may be confusing psychopaths and sociopaths.
    Sociopaths look out for number one regardless of who else gets in the way; whereas psychopaths actually enjoy the infliction of pain and suffering on others for the sake of it: it's *fun* for them.
    You do NOT want psychos on your side because they will eventually turn on you. They are *far less predictable* than sociopaths in this regard.

    These personality types are selected traits, biologically selected. If you read Richard Dawkins book the selfish gene you will see that in any group game theory dictates the number any group can sustain of these antisocial types. This is true all the way down to mud wasps. So its not just social creatures it's all creatures and it comes down to the selfish genes in each of us, using strategies to propagate.

The problem you’re stuck with, is when they’re not on some “mission” for you, what do you really think your life is going to look like when they’re roaming around your wife, your daughter, your workplace, your neighborhood.
