How often do you have to pause (on a piece like this one) to let a section dry before moving forward? Like letting the mountains dry before working on the trees, or letting the river base colors dry before putting in the details. Such like that. Thank you for inspiring me to paint again.

This reminds me of the style of trees painted on a Constable painting. Wonder if he used the same method
