Bryan Yes, getting into the nuts and bolts and ball bearings of a real can be a deep dive video just on its own. My true honest opinion on fancy fishing gear is that it is not necessary, but I sure do love my good stuff, lol! I think the higher quality gear just makes the fishing experience more pleasurable for me
Nice video Brian! Bimart coming in clutch with everything ya need they are definitely my go to spot since we don't have a regular fishing shop around here
Great episode Brian. Nicely done on how and what the basic items you should buy to get started to steelheading 101. You forgot to mention fishing jigs or worms with this setup. Jennifer did an outstanding job and the sensitivity test was eye opening and a great tip on how important sensitivity is in fishing.
Thank you, Jeff, it’s frustrating Trying to figure out what to tell people because it seems like sometimes people don’t want you to tell them how to do it. They just want to watch you fish. Other times they don’t wanna watch you fish they want you to tell them how to fish. I realize that I could probably spend an hour pointing out what to buy and cover every possible way of fishing for Steelhead, but I wanted to keep it pretty basic
@AutomagicFishing Brian I love all that you do. Your positive and like you said. Your giving your honest opinion and it's worth its weight in gold. If I ever do or say something that goes against what your saying, please call me out. I have the utmost respect.👏👏👏
Fun video Brian, i swear i feel a magnetic pull when im walking through walmart and somehow i end up in this section...every...damn...time...hahahaha😅😂
8-17lb is by far my favorite weight rod for its multi species capabilities. A little heavy for most steel and pretty light for some big chinook but all in all it can handle the job. If you're on a budget and can only choose one rod that would be my suggestion.
That was cool!! I remember when I first started getting into steelhead. I was always looking for videos on the setup or the rigs prople use... Maybe you can do a bobber dog , float, and spinner set up video.. i know you've done some demonstrations of your setup in the past, but it's the beginning of the steelhead season, and it might help a lot of new guys....
Man I wish we had a buy mart closer, it’s about an hour away. I like the rod in the neck technique, I have to try that! Also I’ve used the pips box this year and they are awesome, I bought a second one. good stuff 😊
Bi-mart is just about always my go to place. From firearms to fishing to reloading they are great. Coastal usually does some price matching on guns but I have had them refuse to price match Bi-mart because their price was so low.
@AutomagicFishing. Please, dont do that. Other than that i would say this is some excellent advice. I like the eagle claw hooks for most things and they are made in USA. They have served me well.
Protip: you can get one of those "puzzle" 4 piece floor pads from Harbor Frieght for like $8 and get all the leader board you'll ever need, and you can cut it to the exact size you need to fit in your bag or tackle box
Coastal and bi-mart. Hidden gems for fishing stuff in my neck of the woods
I like Coastal most of the time. Just frustrating to not be allowed to get within reach of reels and for that matter, I could barely reach the rods
Brian that was very helpful getting your in site on steelhead fishing equipment. Thanks for sharing.
Well, like I said that’s definitely a freshman crash course. Steelhead 101.
I also look at how many ball bearing are in a reel. I use a medium light rod. Love watching your videos.
Bryan

Thanks, Pete as always for your support! Yes, Bi Mart seems to always come in clutch!

Maybe they have magnets behind the merchandise
I literally just bought that okuma SST in a 10' 6". Its actually an amazing rod. Its my float rod
Oh yeah!👍 It’s probably a great float rod. Really good for bigger water. 9-9’6” is nice in smaller rivers
@AutomagicFishing true story bud

I agree with that!!

Great idea
Good job fish on 😊
Hey thanks

That’s awesome, thanks so much for all of your support for my channel and I wish you the best of luck this Steelhead season

Yes, coastal is usually always more costly. It’s just a good alternative if you can’t find something.
I like that there are several colors of pips boxes. You can have them set up for different line weight or hook sizes.
Yeah, that’s a good solution to be able to know what size you’re grabbing
Split shot in the mouth? lead?
Maybe it’s not such a good idea

تحيه لاجمل سكين واشكرك يا صديقي على هذه الجوله الجميله في انتظارك احلى لايك

You seem like a great guy. I figured there was something off with you just a little. I get it lead posnin. Lol
Hahaha 😂 good one! I guess I deserve it!
Bimart is the place to go!!
They seem to always have the stuff needed
Protip: you can get one of those "puzzle" 4 piece floor pads from Harbor Frieght for like $8 and get all the leader board you'll ever need, and you can cut it to the exact size you need to fit in your bag or tackle box
Oh yeah the most important thing after a fishing license is a 🖋️. Gotta fill out that catch card my guy
True
Cascade pro 9'9 8-15 with ceymar hd got combo for about $100 solid setup
Awesome! Sounds perfect!!
Check out North Fork Lures specifically the Michael Jackson bud!
Thanks 😊
The hunter killer in the Blackfoot looks like my cup of tea!
@AutomagicFishing Yeah buddy
Turtle power challenge to catch a steelhead.., want to see that
lol you first!!!!
Dont put lead in your mouth put it in your pocket. I think he was joking
lol maybe a little joking but I do usually bite them onto my line. That’s introducing it to my mouth as well
I would rather have a fanny pack of small tackle than have lead in my mouth 😅
