- Camp Freddy playing Night 3 (12-16-2011) at The Roxy Residency. Tonight the guest included Franky Perez, Mark McGrath, Gilby Clark, Billy Duffy, Glenn Hughes, Steve Stevens, Chino, Cypress Hill, Sebastian Bach, Steven Adler and Billy Gibbons.
Camp Freddy is Dave Narvarro,Billy Morrison, Matt Sorum,Chris Chaney and Donvan Leitch.

You should have seen him in his prime . My forst rock show was skids and Pantera when I was 14. On the slave to the grind tour. Still to this day 34 years later I've not seen a vocal performance to match

Rockyrandy, you truly know music and musicians because I’ve also praised the talents of Steve Stevens for years. If you are a true 80s fan, you can tell right away that it’s Stevens playing immediately. Nobody, and I mean nobody could rapid fire that whammy bar during a solo or anywhere else in a song like Stevens. He was the god of the rapid fire whammy, yet he was more than just that. He was brilliant in the way he created the musical structure, especially the guitar, obviously, from one chord, or even note, to the next. People just don’t understand the brilliance of guitar work all those years with Billy Idol. There is a short interview with Steve on TH-cam with him explaining how he found the opening riffs to several of Idol’s most successful songs. It’s a jaw dropper because of the ease and talent the man possesses. I’ve often played the game of build your band with the most underrated musicians and they can’t be from the same bands. Mine has always been:

Sebastian is one of the most underrated voices in metal. I believe if he would have had songs like this that his legacy would have been a hundred times greater. Just got through listening to him do another gnr song called "patience"live,and he killed it. Nice to see Tesla is out there rockin as well. Neither one as great as ozzy,ratt or motley in their hayday but still worth listening too. Should've included great white in there as well with megadeth. Not disrespecting some of the other greats out there. It's 5 n the morning and those came to the top of my head so don't start hating on me.80's metal was the greatest decade n music,PERIOD.

Steve Stevens is perfectly capable of playing this note for note if he wanted to he just chose to put his own spin on it. He is a extremely accomplished guitar player and if you think otherwise you are sorely misinformed.
i agree. he actually added to the solo and interpreted it because he can. he was literally improvising in between some of the basic licks. SS never ceases to amaze. his work with billy idol is amazing, and there were not that many singer/guitar pairings quite that good. billy idol's sound was almost created by SS.

That's why you should never compare music or musicians in general. There will never be a winner, because just like beauty it's in the eye of the beholder. It's totally subjective there basically never is a winner other than music itself. There are only losers if you think this way. Music isn't a competition. Don't put a limit on creativity. Steve is already established. He doesn't need to prove anything to anybody. He's one of the gods already.
I want to see this live. Lets do this in 2021 somewhere in SoCal before it's too late.

I WAS THERE! earlier i went to pick tix an just wondered in cuz nobody at window found office upstairs got tix upon exiting heard🎵 poked head downstairs saw Sebastian, Dave few others rehearsing. I watched for a minute or two than split.

this happened because steve steven is an free lance guitarist he can add what ever he wants and also bach took the note of the song on a much lower note i suppose thats why we hear a little different blend... but i agree that the other guitarist ruin the iconic intro thats a shame.
Looking at the names of the "Camp Freddy" and other info here, I will just say that I am familiar with a few names. Like Sabastian Bach, Mark McGrath, Steven Adler, Billy Gibbons, ,and Cypress Hill. THEN, it says that "CAMP FREDDY is: Dave Narvarro, even though I kinda THINK it is really "Dave Navarro", without that extra "R". SO, I am NOT so sure that I have gotten all of the names of the guys RIGHT, BUT, I am NOT quite sure that I am NOT right either. The way that I see it, I have guys from basically 1980's fame, and from heavy metal, pop rock and also some "Southern Rock" OR "Boogie Woogie", when it comes to ZZ TOP. And, BILLY GIBBONS, HE is a dude that COULD REALLY steer me RIGHT as far as me picking the right music to keep on posting videos of, and LOVING, despite that some folks may be pissed off if I post ANYTHING about some old time Rock n Roll music that is somehow deemed to be now UNMENTIONABLE because of SOMETHING legal or just somehow just NOT RIGHT.
Cypress Hill, is a band that I am unfamiliar with. BUT, I see they are a HIP HOP group. And, I am NOT into Hip Hop, so, no wonder I am not familiar with the bands music.
When it comes to Dave Navarro, I am quite sure that DAVE is a rock or metal dude. But, I am kinda THINKING that I may have heard Dave in a metal or rock band before.
All of the musicians listed above have been mentioned because they all are VERY good at what they do. Maybe Dave was in "9 inch nails?" Dave IS really "HOT", but, I am not so familiar with every band he had been in.
