They won't be recognized. One name off the top is a woman named Keke Wyatt. I'm not coming for Karen I love her but there are people more "talented"
Eva Cassidy and Carole King. But those two have amazing voices in their own right. Dionne Warwick and Nina Simone are also stellar. But all of their voices are unique and amazing in their own way :)
No one. That's who.
This song is resonates with me so much that I have memorized the sheet music for piano and play it every day and every where I go where I can find a piano or keyboard. Together they have inspired me to learn other songs.Their God given musical talents will outlive them and future generations to come.

Karma God Bless You. You know that music never die but the memories will always be there. By favorite music band is the Carpenters. My favorite song is We Only Just Begun. Love all their songs. Maggie
Just the voice of an angel; reading my mind and soul in this song. Thanks for the moment in time.
Their music is timeless and ageless..her vocal capabilities never ceases to amaze me. Will always be the finest female vocalist ever recorded.. rip beautiful woman
Oh hey it's the greatest singer of all time with another masterpiece. RIP Karen
Absolutely wonderful. touching, sublime... Carpenters music, vocals = Perfection.
Nailed it
This is still the best kind of music of all time. :) Old songs literally never get old.
The only singer I've ever heard that just puts goosebumps on me .and I'm a hard rock man ...amazing go into a rabbit hole. That I can't get out of ....amazing
2023 and this music is still great!! One of a kind Karen, with that amazing, beautiful voice, it will never get old❤🎶
What a gorgeous song!! :-) My dad introduced me to the Carpenters when I was little and I always return to them when I need to hear quality, genuine and supremely well sung songs!
“Won’t last a day without you” and you hear the crunch of her voice, gives me chillsss who else?
Her voice was a musical instrument.
Sabi ng mom ko pag nkakadinig sya ng ganito, nalulungkot sya. It reminds her kung gano na daw sya katanda. Then it hits me. Oo nga, tumatanda na tayo. Balang araw yung mga masasayang ginagawa natin, magiging memories at kwento na lang 💔 May katapusan talaga lahat. 😥

:(( true bata pa ako noon nung first ko to mapakinggan and now im 15 its sad
very true. na-learn ko nang i-accept na one day magiging dapo talaga ako, pero kabilang din yon ay makikita ko narin yung mga mahal ko sa buhay. Lalo na yung Grandma ko, siya yung kumakanta nito eh hahaha
Still listening in 2023 and appreciating a timeless voice like this! Always moved to tears whenever I hear the depth of emotion in her voice. ❤
Me too! I’ve been listening to them regularly since they first came out with Ticket to Ride in 1969.
me too :D

So ture
Me too! So smooth, I wish she could have seen what everyone else saw...... 3/31/23
I am listening today April 8th, 2023. It's my birthday
Karen was born 74 years ago on March 2, 1950. Greatest female singer ever! 👏👍😍
That's right!! And but today's standards, 72 is still young. Drives it home that much more how very young she was when she passed 💔
@@lynnlovesyou887 Karen passed away almost 40 years ago on March 4, 1983.
@@lynnlovesyou887 It will be on my bucket list to visit her mausoleum next March. There will be a huge fan fest gathering in Downey, April, 2024!

Really that's great.🎉
Beautiful, timeless, unforgettable voice.
bantumwt I don't know why the lord took such a beautiful soul from us. I never met her, but Im sure I'll meet her one day up in heaven when my time comes. but right now I'm young and I'm going to spread love and live life to its fullest. that's what Karen would have wanted for everyone. 💜
bantumwt Obviously I haven't met her lol, I wasn't born until 1998
Nice words.... though the good lord had nothing to with her untimely death. She had a decease that was not generally understood in the 70's and 80's and her heart gave up as a result. Very sad but one thing we can all agree on is that she is in heaven and heaven is a better place for it.
dave hyper I have the same disorder, trust me I know what she was going through
I always thought she had anorexia or bulimia.
One of my favorites. Always brings me to tears. A Paul Williams song he especially wrote for Karen. His own interpretation was great too. Love them both
A tear for Karen, too. Such an angelic voice taken from us way too early
Yep! Paul's version is good too. Male version kind of
So lucky to have been young in the 70’s and grow up with the music of The Carpenters. The beauty and magic of it all is still strong 50+ years later as it was back then.
Day after day, I must face a world of strangers
Where I don't belong, I'm not that strong
It's nice to know that there's someone I can turn to
Who will always care, you're always there
When there's no gettin' over that rainbow
When my smallest of dreams won't come true
I can take all the madness the world has to give
But I won't last a day without you
So many times when the city seems to be
Without a friendly face, a lonely place
It's nice to know that you'll be there if I need you
And you'll always smile, it's all worthwhile
When there's no gettin' over that rainbow
When my smallest of dreams won't come true
I can take all the madness the world has to give
But I won't last a day without you
Touch me and I end up singing
Trouble seems to up and disappear
You touch me with the love you're bringing
I can't really lose when you're near
When you're near, my love
If all my friends have forgotten half their promises they're not unkind
Just hard to find
One look at you and I know
That I couldn't learn to live without the rest
I've found the best
When there's no gettin' over that rainbow
When my smallest of dreams won't come true
I can take all the madness the world has to give
But I won't last a day without you
When there's no gettin' over that rainbow
When my smallest of dreams won't come true
I can take all the madness the world has to give
But I won't last a day without you
you longer mate
I have always loved this song, even as a little boy. I'm 56 years old. I love The Carpenters. RIP Miss Karen. ❤️ U always. 🙂
I'm 68, ... Karen's voice still gives me chills. Her range was fantastic, ... and now we have to listen to screaming from so called vocalist.
Ditto. This was my favorite Carpenters song when I was a kid as well. I'm 57 now. Beautiful song, magnificent voice.
I am 66. Still listening. Today woke up with this song in my head. And here I am.

So sad she never knew how truly loved she was and still is
This is just glorious. There will never be another Karen Carpenter. Her's is a voice for the ages. And let's not forget Richard . That piano solo at the end is haunting. He was the true genius behind Karen. What an arranger. Golly wow.

Agree about both of them.
There will never be a greater singer than Karen carpenter. Such an amazing person with such a beautiful voice I’m so glad she was able to bless us with her voice
Celine Dion
@uriyahbonafide4194 no chance
@@philbarnes7046 Bow down to Celine Dion greatness.
Karen had the most amazing voice ever.Male or female she had the best voice. She could sing the phone book and still make it sound sweet.May she rest in peace. All we have now is her songs to remember her by but what a legacy.
All of these Carpenters songs have so much depth in their instrumentation. Listen to the drumming, bass guitar, lead guitar, and piano individually. Richard was a masterful composer in being able to bring out the best of Karen”s ethereal, emotional, and pitch perfect velvety voice. They admired each other’s God given talent greatly. It shows in each and every one of these timeless classics.
So clear and beautiful. Nothing like her ever since.
What about Celine Klingon
Celines our voice also
And probably nobody like her on my lifetime....RIP Karen
Richard' is really a talented pianist. I love the end of the song where he plays the piano. Beautiful!
They were an awesome pairing.
This song brings tears to my eyes. We all miss You Karen Ann Carpenter 1950-1983.

Quintessentially one of her finest recordings. Richard needs to release anything he has hidden away. The voice that has no equal...
Just sends chills with that tone and pitch. Simply the best voice ever.
Beautiful. these songs always mean so much and bring back all these memories..
40 years since losing Karen Carpenter, and her voice still rings, pure in pitch, and rich in tonality to echo across the generations. So very missed, and still so very loved.
So beautifully said. We all miss Karen. ✨
Karen Carpenter has no match. She sings like an angel.
Hi
Yep, simple the purest, best female voice ever. Well the best voice to ever sing a song..!
Well, in my humble opinion of course without offending different point of view but also looking into this matter and without condemning one's point view, I honestly believe that I completely forgot what I'm going to say.. hayss 😞

I loved Karen's voice and talent the first time I heard her sing, "Close To You." AND then everything that came after! I remember the day a radio station announced "the world lost a superstar today!" I would never assume it was our beloved Karen Carpenter! I still wonder today what beautiful songs we missed out on when she left us. Rest in Peace, Karen, and teach the angels new songs♡
